green tint - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

I wonder why android pie reached us in green colors rather than blue as pixel phones and nokia phomes with android one, I know it's a silly thing but it makes a difference!!

What theme do you use

What Windows Phone 7 theme do you use?
Would be interesting to see what combination is the most popular
Mines Orange on Black
I use the standard blue,
But what I would really like to use is Black on White...

That'd be a pretty cool theme. Would probably look like the email theme.
I have not decided on one yet but its interesting to see the votes though.
I personally swap, lean abit more to orange (which is what I voted for) but would swap to blue when I'm feeling like it lol.
I'm using "HTC" on black.
I found the green HTC theme better than other green.
I'll be using Red on Black!
Just pushing this thread back up since WP7 will be coming out in the states this week, and hopefully would push the total votes up
Pushing again, same reason as my last post
orange on black atm, cant wait untill its possible to use custom colors and do black on black

agree, black&white and/or greys would be great.
on another note during day i almost always use the white design and after sunset/when its dark i switch to the dark design.
i would have never thougt i would actually take the hassle of switching back and fort but somehow the two designs are really practical in different lightning conditions. I really appreciate microsoft included both options; one of the features which tunred out to be super usefull on WP7 enabled phones
Teal on Black here
Teal is like Blue, but stylish Try it
any chance that in a future update.. i might be able to have a little bit more variety in my colors?? don't get me wrong.. the "core" colors are pretty much there...but they completely forgot about other major colors... such as yellow, grey, white, black (as a tile color not the background... in case you're completely oblivious to the obvious) etc... it doesn't seem like something that would be that hard to minclude in an update.. yet it seems very elementary that it would be forgotten at launch
I think a colour selection wheel for the tiles would be awesome.
I'm using green on black because it's the most power-saving combination for SAMOLED-screens but I'd like to try grey on black or maybe gold on black.
I thought Id like green on black, but i tried red on black (which i originally thought was too strong a color) and it works surprisingly well
Push. Incase theres more peeps who recently received their WP7 device.
Just FYI,
For the Samsung Focus and Omnia 7 or any device using Amoled screen.
Do not use:
- White background, it takes 3 times the power of normal LCD to produce white.
- Red theme, it makes characters look more pixelated and the edges of tiles grainy.
- Blue theme, blue color dies first in Amoled screens.
Do use:
- Black background, it uses the least power and much much less than a LCD.
- Green/lime would be your best bet since the fonts and tiles look much more clear and crisp because of the double pixels/saturation on green color.

Notification LED distorted?

I am positive that I am being paranoid about this but I thought I'd ask you guys anyway - when you guys use light flow to control the LED - if its a mixed color like, white, orange, cyan - do you see residue of indiviual led colors around the notification light? I mean when I do white I see a tint of green in one corner of the notification area, a bit of yellow, a bit of red but from a distance it looks white. I know white is a mix of all those colors but I just wanted to confirm that the LEDs on my phone arent out of place.
The notification LED isn't uniform; that's normal. It's good enough, you shouldn't bothered by it, as long as you can tell red from orange and the likes.
Thanks for the response!
Rgb led.

i see the mixed colors as well for the color white. my nexus one LED did not do this, but i figure it's normal since samsung used RGB to make up the LED. they just must have positioned them differently in such a way that there is slight bleed thru. no big deal to me.

Our Nexus Ones had a large translucent trackball to further mix the colors....
Yep, whatever diffuser they put over the top of the rgb led doesn't mix colors very well at all. I almost miss the Nexus One track ball.
Could be worse, the Nexus S doesn't even have a notification LED.
it will get bad when we're *****ing about phones that didn't holographically project who sent you a text or email. but then again who wants to see your grandma naked?

Why Blue?

If the blue led in Amoled screens is the one to supposedly die faster, then why oh why did ICS and JB has blue highlights? even most themes made for custom roms are blue..

i think its a non issue. even if the blues did die faster, i think that youd be using a different device by then anyways,

It probably wasn't taken into consideration.
But now that you know, you can choose non-blue themes and color settings. The Sense 4 theme, for example, is predominantly yellow (red+green ftw).

Why would Google completely change the aesthetic they want for Jelly Bean to suit the manufacturers that use AMOLED screens?
And no one uses a phone long enough for blue pixels to die... Like the other poster said I think this is a non issue. They used blue because it looks good.

Well Google themselves prefer amoled screens when they bid out their phones. Notice every nexus had amoled, all three. So amoled is Google's own requirement.
And then there's the time they changed the status bar from white to black to avoid burn in on amoled. So they do consider this issue.
Because blue is awesome. It is my favorite color. Google called and asked me, personally, what was my favorite color.
But seriously, I doubt it was something they were exceedingly worried about. Blue is probably less problematic than white, but still looks good.
I would be pretty surprised if your pixels started dying so badly so as to be unusable before you needed a new phone anyway.
OK, knowledgeable people.. do they die if the phone isn't being used? Like, eventually?
Or are they in stasis when the screen is powered down, like sea monkeys?
Or what?

Also are you sure bout that the first nexus was an htc right? If not sorry my first Android was a cappy i loved it screen was awesome but sammys new ones are gross

Screen burn-in isn't the only reason for that change I hope. A black status bar is just nicer and less obtrusive, especially when using apps that are mostly dark.

No. If you look very closely you can see that the little blue sea monkeys go to sleep when you turn the screen off.

blue is the most used color in most things. if you look at even ink cartridges in printers, the blue is the first one to go.

The first nexus was the nexus one made by htc, and it had an amoled screen supplied by Samsung. This was the time when Samsung cut off other manufacturers from amoled and kept them for Samsung phones only from that point forward.

So this is, why Motorola phones use AMOLED screens?

It's true, I didn't even realise how bad the colours were till I switched to Trinity kernel.

Black is the Problem!
The blue icons aren't the real problem, the black bars are! Let me explain:
Blue dies faster right?
Black doesn't age cause there is no power on that pixels, right?
Blue subpixels are in every single pixel, right?
So when the screen is used, blue subpixels are used too, because blue subpixels aren't only used for blue colors, they are used for many colors to mix other colors, right?
When the whole screen is used, all blue subpixels are used (mostly), so there is no way blue subpixels don't age, right?
So what could be the most stupid thing to do with an amoled display? Right, only using parts of, so that one part ages, and the other does not. When it comes to Galaxy Nexus we have got 2 mostly unused areas, on top and on the bottom of the screen, where the biggest parts are mostly black/unused.
The result is, that the mostly unused parts look more blueish when they are used, compared to other parts of the screen. The big problem is, that when we watch pictures or watch movies on our beautiful big screen those black parts are used too! So watching movies is a bit annoying, cause always see those blue shining bars on the left and on the right of the screen (landscapemode). And it doesn't take years, a couple of months are enough, cause ics and jelly bean aren't made for samoled screen, not because of blue, because of the onscreen buttons and the black top bar!
I bet: most of you will notice the aged areas watching pictures or movies on low brightness in fullscreen mode! try it tonight, you will see!

[Q] Dead/stuck pixel or what is this?

Hello, I have trouble with my Nexus 7 2013. I have got new device a few days ago and I found dead/stuck pixel at the bottom left corner of my screen. For me it looks like dead/stuck pixel, but after several tests I am not sure.
I can see it only at max brightness (at lowest or medium it is almost invisible) and ONLY at black color.
If I will turn a little bit my device it changes color for green, red (at least I think it looks like red or green) etc.
I did several tests with that app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.chris.blackspotdetect
And I cannot see that pixel in any of those colors built-in app, except on black color (it is clearly visible on black background).
My question is: is it dead or stuck or anything yet pixel?
Thanks for any help,
best regards

it could be a dead pixel, but my advice is to return and get it replaced while you can because later it may be half of your screen or worse!
And I will Thanks for pushing my mind forward, I was afraid of sending it for warranty, but I have no choice.
Isn't there a number of dead pixels there has to be before you can send it to warranty/exchange it?

color

Anybody notice that after the November update that the whites on their phone are off white compared to the pure white when they got the phone? Very noticeable for me as I had never seen Google with such good whites. There was a huge difference between the pixel and my 6p and now there's not
