What Windows Phone 7 theme do you use?
Would be interesting to see what combination is the most popular
Mines Orange on Black

I use the standard blue,
But what I would really like to use is Black on White...

That'd be a pretty cool theme. Would probably look like the email theme.

I have not decided on one yet but its interesting to see the votes though.

I personally swap, lean abit more to orange (which is what I voted for) but would swap to blue when I'm feeling like it lol.

I'm using "HTC" on black.
I found the green HTC theme better than other green.

I'll be using Red on Black!

Just pushing this thread back up since WP7 will be coming out in the states this week, and hopefully would push the total votes up

Pushing again, same reason as my last post

orange on black atm, cant wait untill its possible to use custom colors and do black on black

agree, black&white and/or greys would be great.
on another note during day i almost always use the white design and after sunset/when its dark i switch to the dark design.
i would have never thougt i would actually take the hassle of switching back and fort but somehow the two designs are really practical in different lightning conditions. I really appreciate microsoft included both options; one of the features which tunred out to be super usefull on WP7 enabled phones

Teal on Black here
Teal is like Blue, but stylish Try it

any chance that in a future update.. i might be able to have a little bit more variety in my colors?? don't get me wrong.. the "core" colors are pretty much there...but they completely forgot about other major colors... such as yellow, grey, white, black (as a tile color not the background... in case you're completely oblivious to the obvious) etc... it doesn't seem like something that would be that hard to minclude in an update.. yet it seems very elementary that it would be forgotten at launch

I think a colour selection wheel for the tiles would be awesome.
I'm using green on black because it's the most power-saving combination for SAMOLED-screens but I'd like to try grey on black or maybe gold on black.

I thought Id like green on black, but i tried red on black (which i originally thought was too strong a color) and it works surprisingly well

Push. Incase theres more peeps who recently received their WP7 device.

Just FYI,
For the Samsung Focus and Omnia 7 or any device using Amoled screen.
Do not use:
- White background, it takes 3 times the power of normal LCD to produce white.
- Red theme, it makes characters look more pixelated and the edges of tiles grainy.
- Blue theme, blue color dies first in Amoled screens.
Do use:
- Black background, it uses the least power and much much less than a LCD.
- Green/lime would be your best bet since the fonts and tiles look much more clear and crisp because of the double pixels/saturation on green color.

[ROM] DalerROM & NikitaROM. 14/3 - Schemes Added. Blue? Green? Red? Grey? Orange?

Hi guys & gals,
In a span of 23 years of architectural practice, I have come to realise that different age groups relish/appreciate different color groups. Elderly people would love to have softer paler colors while pre-teens & teens are open to any color & any mix of colors. While men prefer warmer ones, Women prefer pinks, pastels, magentas & mauves.
Each age group/sex tends to prefer a certain part of android market/life.
Before I finalize my two ROMs, I am now taking requests from anybody/everybody what they would prefer. You also need to mention your age, sex & profession.
I am NOT asking for firmware requests or theme requests. I am asking for color requests + if possible how & in what way you you use your SGS best.
14/3 - I have short-listed a few color schemes for you.
1 - All Greys.
2 - Light Pink + Blue.
3 - Seagreen + Navy Blue.
4 - Yellow + Dark Greys.
5 - Orange + Deep Red.
What do you say?
Monochrome is the best!
I always use a black background en white symbols, .. my agenda, clock, shortcuts and even the weather is in white!
And if it has to be a color, the sgs suits the color blue pretty well, .. meaning man and woman would/could adore it!
Hope to see some of your work soon!
I'm young and would prefer a dark theme simply because it would save battery life on SAMOLED.
Good idea there mate. I am a teen reaching adulthood, male, and I like lighter, relaxed color scheme. Think Go Launcher "cartoon" theme or MIUI. It's nice and the graphics looks consistent. I like more flat, than 3D. Think Gingerbread instead of Froyo. I always like my homescreen to be colourful, basically combination of cyan, orange and green.
Hey ragin.
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Preference: Usually a noir style; blacks, whites and greys (sorta like R64's theme). Also like a combination of black, navy blue or sky blue.
20 Male
I like black with gray and white + (not light) blue or green. Gingerbread for example is really nice. To say it simpler:
1 color + black and white and gray.
35 male
Black, green, orange. Sharp lines more than curved.
45 male
I like darker colors and not very easy.
I'm 22 years old, and I prefer strong colors: red, black, white.
20 male, I like neon futuristic type colours...i.e. The neon green in Jumbas NeonGT theme. Neon blue would also be a cool colour to incorporate.
50+
male
it management
I prefer FULL colour menus, in ALL menus, single colour themes make a phone bland, like a cheap rip off.
I like things to stand out, be very clear and clinical, I like sharp clean text lines, I am not a lover of the Doctor type fonts where you have to figure out the wording ;-)
And no I am not going blind or the likes due to my age But for those that remember the old green screen days, to be able to see and use FULL colour makes a big difference, reds and yellows give you a clue that the options have consequences, colour has many visual properties that allow the brain to see information in colour before you read the text, and using monochromatic schemes loose that impact and functionality

These are my colours as well, using mostly black though. 29 M business management. A note though: any and all colours can be attractive to anyone (I believe)....the secret is the balance and combinations between them. I have been surprised myself when I've seen certain things that contain not my first choice of colours but looked good to me nonetheless because someone did a good job mixing them

I prefer matte and clean colours. Matte blue, green, red (and burgundy), dark and light grey are all nice colours in a UI. I don't like the Windows Vista and HTC Sense glossy style on the interface.
Male, 18 years old.
Im male, 18, and i would love a black/navy blue combination, or a dark silver instead of black.
U should make a poll with the 3 most loved colors or smthing.

(Theme Request) Stylish

I hope this is not the wrong section I would love to see more of something than black and white and grey and white and blue and red and green something that has some good amount of color mix in it like a black and red or gold and white or black or something with a mix of colors any suggestions. I was just thinking back to the og droid days and i loved themes for that they were constantly pouring out and never the same. Any chance any one is working on or may know where i can pick up something like this change things up a bit.

[Q] LED Notification light defective??

The other day I noticed that my once stock white colored notification LED was acting strangely. It now is multicolored and seems to have a slight flicker when it goes off. I went through Samsung US support steps, removed apps, then full factory reset. Still same problem. I installed Light Flow and tested all colors. Most work but still with a bit of a flicker. White is not working. It displays in three colors, yellow pink and green/blue? I suppose my LED has broken. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution? Samsung US will not support the repair as it is an international GSM phone.
Thank you.

Well mine is also like that..

I have had my phone since January and it was always a white notification. My old Nexus One was also always a plain white notification. I am pretty sure thats what stock Android intends it to be. The multicolored just started. Either way Light Flow when set to White should display a white notification but it cannot. I am almost certain my LED is defective. Anyone else?

Everything you describe is normal.
You probably just never noticed it before.
I actually did notice it and that is why I have posted here. The notification light is supposed to be white. Not multicolored. I know this phone like the back of my hand. The led has changed.
Mine has been like exactly what you've described on both Nexus' that I've owned.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
It's a tri-colored LED (red, green, blue).
It displays different colors by mixing those 3 primary colors.
To get white, it mixes all 3.
The 3 LED's aren't close enough together, so around the edges you'll see the individual colors, but in the center it will appear white.
At certain distances/angles/lighting conditions, it can appear almost fully white.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDrYDjXThLc
If you insist that it was pure white before, then somehow you had a white LED and it has transformed into a RGB LED.
I'm pretty sure no Galaxy Nexus's were shipped with a white LED, and certainly not ones that can transform.
AFAIK
The notification LED at the bottom of the phone has always been a 3 color LED. Red, green and blue. To get white it turns on all 3. Other colors are variations on a theme.
Thank you, terryhau.
My notification light does not look like it does in that video. It is now mostly pink with a green hue no the bottom portion and a purple/blue color in the top left hand portion. It DID NOT used to be like this.
I guess I need to post a pic somehow.
Maybe something like an update or .apk has changed the behavior of the LEDs like reduced the output which would explain why you now see all 3 colors instead of white.

The video shows that it is not pure white, but a mixture of colors. Kind of hard to see because of the bad camera.

Yes. And in the video it shows what my led looked like about three days ago. It no longer displays that way. Now the three colors are glaringly obvious with a bit of a flicker as it fades out.
I am having the same issue. I have a galaxy nexus from sprint and the play store. the sprint one is perfect. all colors requiring a mix of colors show perfectly like pink, magenta, lime etc. However the play one does not. its almost like its off center so with lime you will see a bit of green and then orange on one side. Pink is slightly pink on one section then almost white every where else. Purple is purple and then has a nice section of blue on one edge.
So my question is those who have replaced your screen is the led attached to it or is it part of the speaker daughter board?
My led is darned close to white (accepting Newton's physical laws etc.). I'm thinking that if yours has changed then perhaps it's damaged, but perhaps your rom settings have (been) changed and your notification colour is now set differently (by default). What rom are you using?
I'm using CM9, which nominally allows me to have notifications in different colours for different apps. I find when I pick colours from the chooser, though I'm meant to have complete control over the colour, in reality I can get white, red, blue, green, and different rotations of rainbows.
Clarification: when I say I can get 'red, blue, and green', I mean properly: I get a solid circle of whichever one of those colours I'm aiming for. But anything else (e.g. yellow, orange, cyan, magenta, lilac, etc.) will be a the chosen colour in a small part of the circle, and an array of all the other colours elsewhere in the rest of the circle.
i can get all those colors too... but only on a portion of the window. white will show green, blue and pink on the side.. but not just around the edges. I think this is what the OP was talking about. I honestly do not think its a software issue as i am running lightflow on both of my nexus's and one is has run cm9 and AOKP witht he same results. It has to be a hardware issue. So if any one can answer this, is the LED attached to the screen or the lower speaker daughter board?

Samsung's choice of color

Anyone think there a relative decision to release the galaxy s3 line of phones in red, white, and blue? Seeing how they were all in the Olympic mix

I like the change. Blue is beautiful and black is too common. Metallic Grey would've been good, too. But nothing beats pebble blue.

I think it was a complete coincidence. I think the white and blue colors are much more aesthetically pleasing than black. They're calming colors. Black is just kind of the neutral default. As for the red one, I'd bet that was 100% AT&T's idea. It doesn't fit the calming nature of the pebble blue and marble white or the nature ideas of TouchWiz. It's kind of tacky, imo.
Also, if you're implying that those colors were chosen to represent the US or something, I'd say you're almost certainly mistaken. First, red, white, and blue are all very common flag colors. Who's to say which country they chose the colors to represent? Second, the phones are being released around the world in the same two colors, including to countries with no white or blue in their flags. Third, assuming, then, that they were chosen to represent the Olympic colors rather than a country, what about the yellow, green, and black versions they would have to release? Fourth, if they were to release phones in special colors for any country, it would have to be their home country of South Korea, which actually has the colors white, blue, and red on their flag but is not getting the red phone.
Really, I think it just came down to the most aesthetically pleasing colors: white and blue (at least the particular shade of blue they used). Almost any other color would have either destroyed the whole design language or just looked really ugly. I don't think a pebble green (or moss green or leaf green or whatever) would have gone over quite as well. Same with yellow, pink, violet, brown... I mean, if the phone isn't black, what other colors could you use that wouldn't be ugly to a large portion of the population? White and light blue, exactly what Samsung chose (Nope. Still not counting red. I think AT&T really ****ed that up).

I wanted Black or a "Gunmetal" Gray personally. Don't want a purple "pebble blue", so went white. Don't hate it, but everything else I own is Gunmetal and/or Black. Electronics, most of my shirts, even my car, lol
they may, but you´ll have to pay some extra money for a fancy color. I stay with the black and keep it classic.

Which color looks best?

Obviously it's a matter of preference, but I'm really struggling between white and black. The blue is nice as well, but I wish it was more metallic like the xz1 blue.
The white with silver/aluminum edges and same button really looks nice. But then, ppl r saying black helps look less chunky and the bezels don't stand out as much.
BTW, anyone know why some black models have black power button, while others have silver?
Please share opinions.
I thought all black models have a black power button, where did you find black model with silver power button?
Coming from the beautiful white Z5C, the XZ1C white model was the first color I looked at, but was disappointed to find that it isn't really white, it's more silver, which cheapens the feel IMO.
I also think the silver power button a bit jarring on the blue and red models, had they been uniform in color, it would have made my choice a lot more difficult.
Ultimately, I found the black model to be the most elegant. I really loved the black power button color scheme, and also appreciated that this time around the black is really black, not some shade of gray.
The polished chamfered frame on the top and bottom looks very nice in black, just subtle enough for a display of sophistication. In comparison, I find it a bit too shiny on the blue and red models, and it just feels bland on the silver model.
Another reason I went in favor of the black model is because of all the large sensors this phone is equipped with, having a black body helps reduce their presence and blends in nicely. It's especially apparent on the other colors, and I can't help but notice their existence.
In summary, Sony made it very easy for me to choose the black model over the other color options.
black
Aah, just went back to the video I saw on YouTube, the guy switched between xz1 compact and x compact, in different shots, didn't catch the switcheroo.
I actually would have preferred black with silver/metallic button. I'm assuming that would've added to premium look.

The XZ1C's black power button does appear metallic, and subjectively I think it's much better than silver, and fits perfectly with the black body.
My wife had a black Z5C, it has a silver power button on a black frame, so I've seen and lived with my share of the silver on black combo, it's okay but doesn't strike me as more premium.
I was really drawn to the black on black scheme when I first saw the black XZ1C in person, it's very exotic in its own way, not to mention it's the only model that has a matching color power button.
Well, arguably the silver button on the white model matches too, but... it feels so run of the mill, very meh, works but boring.
There is no white color in XZ1c, it's silver and it's nice (my colleague has it).
I've taken the Horizon Blue which is more green than blue but I like it.
IMHO a black one is the ugliest this time (and I have always had black phones including Compacts)
I went with the "Twilight Pink" option since I had the Red Z3 Compact and I like the bold colour of the Z3C.
I find the name of the colour to be a bit misleading. To me, it looks more orangey than pink. Probably a bit closer to raw salmon, where it's closer to red / orange and not yet pink.
The only thing I would have liked Sony to keep would be the colour of the front glass. In all the older models, the front bezels were all black. The XZ1 Series started a new trend where the front bezel follows the colour of the body (not too sure about the XZ Premium).
Hi,
Got the black one and all I can say, it's really black and for my point of view, it's really elegant and classy.
All the buttons are black, and when the screen is off, it's looks like a black monolith : elegant.

Same here! I have black one and love its professional looking. I like the looks when the screen off, the device is one black bar. And when the screen on, the navigation bar at the bottom disappear and blends in to the black bezel. Gotta say the LCD quality of XZ1c is so high that the black is very close to AMOLED black, even in the no light environment.
I ended up choosing to go with black one. Gotta say, made the right choice; and the comments about black monolith and classy, right on point. That's what I love most about this device. 2001 space Odyssey quality monolith - I feel like I'm holding something prescious and amazing in hand.
I got the black one today. It really is stunning. It's a high quality black that i've never seen any other vendor other than Sony pull off. Pictures don't do it justice.
I got the black one and think it's beautiful, but I would've definitely grabbed a fully white model if there was one.
Loving my horizon blue...almost mint.
I have the "white silver" one. Yeah, the name is misleading, it's not white at all.
And it's not exactly silver either. It's more of a metallic gray. I was hoping it was shinier, like the paint on the Samsung GS7 silver version.
I still like how it looks though. It gives the phone an industrial look akin to HTC's M7.
I can't decide if I should go black or blue. I'm thinking black for all reasons listed. Blue is my favorite color, but the phone looks more aqua than the blue xz1. It's "lagoon" blue vs horizon blue
