Hi all! Did anyone do storage speed test on Q7+ model? Usually I use Androbench 5 app in the play store to do "micro" test and get the results that way. Just want to find out if this phone is worth picking up as a budget friendly device

The storage speed seems low if compared with S9 and Pixel 2. Do you really feel that the Q7+ installs, runs apps slower?
Really appreciate it!

I've never used either of those devices, but compared to my HTC 10 it may be slightly slower.
But it's not a bad device for a mid range,. Only downside is it cannot be rooted.

Oh, I did own HTC 10 for its audio playback ability and enjoyed it! At the moment I own Pixel 2, but the audio that comes from this device isn't good. It is either I buy USB-C Hi-res dongle or get Q7+

I've never heard the audio from the pixel but the HTC 10 audio is way better than the Q7+. I would recommend testing the Q7+ and compare yourself. I have the HTC usb C to 3.5mm adapter and it sounds pretty good with the old htc m8 type earbuds. Not trying to push you away from this device, but the htc 10 does have much better sound IMO.

Hmm, if as you say HTC 10 had better audio, then I might as well just buy hi-res usb-c to 3.5mm adapter for my Pixel 2 and enjoy.
The interesting thing is that as far as I know/read the LG Q7+ should have Quad-DAC built into the phone which can be turn on/off with the toggle when headphones are connected and should sound pretty good...

P.S:
Good news: I found the one that would work as an external battery for the Xoom.
It has a 12v/1.5A output and looks to have the same tip of our xoom charger!

To be honest I don't see a small enough pin there.

Motorola isn't even listed. Etc. Doesn't always mean it'll be included.
You DO see it puts out 16-19 volts, right?
IOW, don't buy it.
I have yet to find an extended battery that works with the Xoom, either the pin connector is too big or the output voltage is too low, I have bought these and they dont work either so I doubt the one you listed will

The weird thing is that I saw the same device on other website which has a pin in the old nokia chargers size .. the pin may be not included but you may need to buy it separately!

FYI, the device is listed on different websites and sometimes they mention Motorola and sometime they not .. it's not our issue since this is considered as a universal external battery.

The thing is .. if it could charge the hucking laptops and even cellphones then why it wouldn't work for our xoom?
I mean isn't there a way to convert the 16v into 12v ??

The ones you've listed are usb based output which barely gives 5v and we indeed need 12v.. but the one that I asked about could provide 16 to 19 volts and that's the difference.
I hope we find an external battery for our Xooms .. cuz I'm working on a project for the xoom that needs an external battery (hint: hand made keyboard docking such as the transformer )

Not efficiently at the 18W that's needed to fully replicate the charger. Plus that, I suspect the charging plug sets the output voltage (kind of like what the Kensington chargers do).

Hey guys,
For those of us running custom ROMs that enable USB-OTG, I just saw a really cool kickstarter project yesterday (and am already a backer) for a miniature microsd reader that you can just plug into your phone/tablet. I'm not in any way related to this project, I just really, really want to see it get funded. Here's an excerpt from the project page http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta
Hello world! You like your Nexus tablet but you hate the fact that it doesn't have a built-in SD card reader for storage expansion? My brother and I felt that way when we first got one in July 2012. So we decided to do something about it -- make one for it. After many months of hard work, finally we have something that we feel good about and we want to share with the world.
What does it do?
Well, it is just like a SD card reader that you use on your computer, except it is for Android tablets and smartphones that have MicroUSB port. You can use it to read/write MicroSD cards, copy files between your phone/tablet and a MicroSD card.
It supports MicroSDHC cards up to 32GB (max capacity by SDHC standard), and MicroSDXC cards up to 64GB (max capacity available on the market). SDXC standard supports cards up to 2TB -- this reader should support future MicroSDXC cards of higher capacity up to that, but we have no way of testing it right now.

Really cool
Sweet idea, but I'd much prefer an idea like this, but built in to a case - so you can still have it plugged in while it's in your pocket.
Excellent been waiting for something like this.

Right on well thanks for helping me out with your generous donation for replacement part thus making others aware of this flaw.
This would explain why some have loose connections and other don't , Sammy was running low on ribbons and packed some of are toys with junk usb part.
For those that need to replace part here is a great how to video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT-2zrZ_aNo
Another find updating Charging Port & Mic ribbon.
Speaker level is higher better sound quality is had no more garble.
Why is that?
Speaker assembly connects to that board

I have a Beats by Dre Headphone and a Nexus 5, Is there a way of making it so the ContolTalk works on my phone ?
as of right now I know it was only fully functional on iOS but not on Android (only mic and call button works on it)
I will love you forever (and kiss your forehead) if you find me a solution, specially if I don't have to root it ( which I'll probably have too )
There's no solution because it's a hardware thing. The cable is not compatible fully with an Android device and no rooting will do anything about it any more than rooting would make the N5 work with an iPhone-designed radio.

1st receipe: Go to the E-Bay. Try to find a "Samsung headset control cable". It's very rare thing so you could fail with it. Try aliexpress, dx or similar sites.
2nd receipe: Go to the E-Bay and get the pair of the cheapest Samsung headsets there. Find someone familiar with the soldering iron and tell him to use the headset as the donor to the original cable. Changes will occur for resistors and wiring – he'd changeover mic and ground contacts as describede below.

Instead of doing this workaround, just buy this adapter:

Chinese manufacturer Cube has started to release the new model, Cube I9 with RAM 4GB and type c port, it will be 12.2inch Intel Skylake tablet pc. the Cube i9 looks very similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, even down to the integrated stand on the rear and keyboard/dock.

Cube i9 will have 12.2inch display with 1920*1200P screen resolution. And it uses a 6th generation Intel skylake processor with RAM 4GB and 12.8GB internal storage. Of course, it can be expanded by inserting a micro SD card.
It includes a full size USB 3.0 and type C 3.1 port.
It is said Cue i9 will sell at 2,999 Yuan in China, and more expensive than Chuwi HI12.
About the release date, we will wait until the official website announces.
So are you looking forward to this high-end Cube i9 tablet pc?
