Does any ROM support usb sound card globally? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

I plug in a usb sound card, but no usb drive can be found in AIDA64.
I cannot play sound by the sound card, unless I use `HibyMusic` and open the `Exclusive HQ USB audio access` option.
How can I using usb sound card globally?
Now I'm using Pixel experience latest.

maybe I find the reason.
Developer options>Default USB configuration>File Transfer.

[Q] Play videos through DHD to car stereo over micro usb

Hi, i connect my DHD to my car stereo via the micro USB port at the DHD's bottom.
I subsequently get a prompt that asked me whether i want to have the USB behave as a charge only, SD card, HTC sync, Internet tether... I choose SD card.
Here is where the problem is. Audio works fine, i am able to get it streamed to my car stereo over USB. But when i try to play video files , the phone reports that the SD card is locked (since the car steroe is accessing the sd card for audio files i believe).
Are there any work around this? I would like to watch video and have the sound from the video audible through my car stereo speakers, all through the micro usb port.
I used to be able to do this using the iphone dock port.
This will never work unless your car stereo has a stereo/mini-stereo Aux in.

Does Pixel C support USB host mode for audio?

The Pixel C appears to have an outstanding screen and wireless support.
Thus, one would expect it to be one of the best options for streaming high quality video contents.
But high quality video streaming makes very little sense with low quality audio.
Thus, the obvious question is whether Pixel C does (will) support USB host mode for audio.
Android >= Lollipop 5.x has kernel support for USB host mode for audio.
Nexus 5, 6P, 7 (2012), 7 (2013), 10 all support USB host mode for audio.
All recent iOS devices support USB host mode for audio: just select the connected DAC in the system/audio menu.
Does Pixel C support USB host mode for audio? And, if so, how? How do you toggle between internal sound card and external DAC? Which mobile class-compliant DACs are known to work well with Pixel C?
Thanks for your feedback! Best, nbpf
It works when i connect my DAC via the USB C port so i guess the answer is yes.

Thanks clubtech, I very much appreciate your feedback! Is your DAC a self powered one or does it get power from the USB port? Best, nbpf

Thanks clubtech! How do you toggle between internal sound card and external DAC? Does the audio output default to the external device after you plug in the USB DAC or can you select which output is enabled/disabled in a menu? Thanks, nbpf
Just stumbled upon this thread. I have a Cambridge audio dacmagic xs working on my pixel C via a USB A to C adapter without any problems. All audio goes through it, and the android volume controls do still work. I can't see any setting to switch between audio outputs, it seems to be automatic on plugging/unplugging.

No sound in speakers when connecting an USB C hub

I bought an Usb C hub (not Samsung's) with ethernet, hdmi out, USB 3 ports, card reader, power delivery and headphone Jack. It works well but when I connect it I can't hear sound through the speakers ( I can hear if I connect headphones to the tablet or to the hub).
Does anyone have a solution, or tried a hub without this problem?
I solved it. Go to Developer options/Multimedia and check "Prevent USB audio routing". Now you won't be able to connect headphones to the hub (unless you uncheck that option) but since you can use the tablet 's headphone Jack it's not a problem.

External sound card input not working with USB OTG

Hello XDA,
I have a Moto G5S and a CSL sound card (7.1 output and 2 mic input). I'm connecting the sound card to the phone with a USB OTG 2.0 cable.
When connected, the sound card starts up and I can control the audio volume from the keys on the soundcard. Also, the audio output is automatically redirected to the sound card, so I can listen to audio output from the "line out" of the sound card.
However, I cannot get the input mic lines to work. I tried various apps such as n-Track 9, WaveEditor, USB Audio Recorder, and so on and no one of them is able to record from the sound card.
In Linux, the sound card works out of the box.
Do you have any suggestion to get the input mic from the sound card?
I think it strange that it even work ?
I think you need additional drivers into kernel. But probably it will be unavailable in our kernel, or you have to port it itself for montana kernel, to fully support possibilities of your external sound card.
Additionaly, if u want a help in that kind of trouble, please include logs, extact device model (best will be device id from linux) and if possible, check first on stock rom or other device. If it does not work there, its provably unfixable problem.
Thanks in advance, good night.
This seems like a very overkill setup

Question moto g60 cant detect usbc dongle

Hello,
maybe someone can help me with my issue. Im listening music from phone through usb c using usb dongle DAC (Abigail Pro). Lately i was using Hiby Music app in usb direct mode. Now something happen and my moto dont recognize any usb c DAC or usb c pendrive. When i put in usb socket DAC or pendrive phone give a message "charging conected device via USB". I cant switch to playing music or data transfer. Phone charging normally. Phone is without root - i dont want to root cause i still have warranty.
I dont know what to do to repair it. I did a factory reset without any change. Im wondering is this a problem of software or usb socket is damaged?

Try to clean your USB port with compressed air. Also, which USB options do you have when you connect those devices? It might be that your USB port is damaged. Never happened to me on this phone, or any other phone I used. But it can happen. So, either the USB DAC is acting up, or the USB port is. So, take them one by one. See which one is likely the culprit here.
