If you have a stock Blackstone, you don't have any operator customized file. To add a custom oplogo you need to add some registry key. I have also a stock one so I'm also searching for those registry keys.

I to have a stock Blackstone so I'm interested in seeing what you find. I would like to have the custom logo on mine as well.
Hi All,
This is a Hidden system File, if you are using Resco Explorer, go to Menu->Options->Browser tab and uncheck the options "Hide hidden files" "Hide files in ROM".
Hi Friends,
Regarding the Registry Keys for Operator Logo.
I also searched for 256x64.png in my registry, its located at
HKLM-> Software -> HTC -> Manila -> OperatorLogo -> 52505 -> Logo
This key has the value "\windows\256x64.png"
Note: I am using the ROM which came with the Device.
Hope this helps.
What happens if I just delete the 256x64.png file?
no more news for this very interesting thread ?

I tried, and I got: " File '\Windows\256x64.png' is in ROM memory! You cannot delete it."
I also tried to replace it with an empty one, nothing changed.
shamsul, since you managed to modify one, can you provide us a totally transparent one?
Hi
Please find the transparent file attached.
I use Touch HD, but there is no file in my windows folder? i did uncheck hidden files to see it. but no success. I want to change my operator logo.

But the image shows you get rid of starhub logo in Home horizontal tab.
What about deleting the big starhub logo when you are in Browser horizaontal tab ?
Thanks

Can you explain the "Logo" is a Key or String Value. Thanks!

weird, I replaced the windows\256x64.png logo with the empty one using resco explorer, then I soft-reseted, and when TF3D restarted the logo is still there! I checked the image I just replaced using HTC Album, and it displays a white rectangle, so I assume it is the correct one, but then how come Star Hub's logo is still on today screen?

It's a String Value.
I just tried to simply delete the string, now the value of 'Logo' is empty. Soft-reset. Logo is still there :'( whyy ??
Hey Shamsul,
I tried 'all ways' but still cannot get rid of the StarHub Logo oi.
I must have missed something along the way...damned!

Not work for me even though edited registry.
Same here
did not work for me ,
Did not have the file in windows directory , so created and copied my own file to windows, modified registry , soft reset , still no operator logo ?
Instead of "52505" you should use the Network code of your GSM operator. You can take a look to find it here: http://www.activexperts.com/xmstoolkit/networkcodes/, or just use Google.
i have searched but cant find the ideal guide on how to change the boot animation AND mp3 sound. i see it all on youtube but its confusing the way they do it.
someone point me in the right direction?? thanks in advanced.
also do i need to have NAND unlocked??
I would purchase Root Explorer for $1 and do it through that app.
You basically need to find the thread located on this website with a collection of boot animations. Download the zip that's included and flash through recovery. If you wish to change the .mp3 sound for let's say the Dancing Droid boot animation you would want to go through Root Explorer and overwrite/place mp3 file in the correct formatted name.
Here's the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=708173
Cool thanks but root explorer is like $5 where do you get it for $1?
-On That Black Ops Status-
Oops my bad. I probably too it for another app. Try downloading ES File Explorer since it's free. I buy so many apps that I forget the price sometimes.
so it there any exact walkthrough?
im just not used to all the "experienced people should know what this means"
stuff..
like when u say recovery u mean hboot??
Recovery is when you power off your phone, hold volume down and boot on your phone while holding it down. You can then flash .zip from recovery by choosing "choose zip from sdcard" and finding the boot animation, confirming (as in yes) and installing.
if i mess up can i reflash my nand??
i already backed everything up..
Yes you can do a Nand restore.
cool thank you

Swyped From Eva Running Myn's RLS4.95 On The Now Network!
The boot animation is in /system/media put the file in there & replace the existing one. It must be named the exact same & be a .zip I suggest booting into recovery & wiping cache & dalvik after replacing it
Will try that hope it works

Pushboot is the easiest way
Oh boy. Have you guys actually made a rom or flashed a boot animation? I don't think so. Here's a step-by-step tutorial.
1. NANDROID NANDROID NANDROID <--- Always do this when modifying your rom unless you like starting over.
2. Find the bootanimation that you want. Some come with the sound and some don't. I prefer ones without sound.
3. Get the Android USB drivers and ADB from the Android SDK if you haven't already and make sure the drivers are installed for your phone. If I have to explain that, then you shouldn't use technology.
4. Now, I would just do this the easy way and open up the zip file that the bootanimation comes in. If the bootanimation is named bootanimation.zip, then there's nothing to extract as that's the file we need. The sound file will be called SPC_animation_final.mp3. That's what the file names for the animation and sound must be.
5. Now, make sure that bootanimation.zip and SPC_animation_final.mp3 are in the same folder as ADB and open a command prompt. Make sure you Chdir to the same directory that ADB is and then type: adb remount
6. If you're rooted, you should see "remount succeeded" and you'll have read/write on your phone. If you don't see that message, you have to remount another way. The other way is to type: adb shell. Then, type: cat /proc/mounts. Look for the line that has an mtdblock in it and /system. You'll need that mtdblock number. The command I use is: mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system. Yours may be different if your partition setup is different. Yours could be 3, 5, 6, etc. If you aren't rooted, then leave this thread and go do that.
7. If you are still in adb shell, type exit to go back to the normal CMD. Otherwise, just go to step #8.
8. Next, type: adb push bootanimation.zip /system/customize/resource. It should copy it over without error.
9. Then, type adb push SPC_animation_final.mp3 /system/customize/resource. Again, it should copy without error.
10. Now, to test to make sure this worked, you can type adb shell bootanimation. Watch your phone and if you see your bootanimation, then it worked. If you don't, then it didn't copy right. Not sure if this test will play the animation sound as I don't use one.
11. If you really want to make sure it worked, type adb shell reboot and that will reboot your phone.
12. ???
13. Profit!
so everything is done through adb command..
-_- thats too difficult for me.. cuz if overtime i wanna change it again..
its a hassle..

HOW-TO: HTC T328W from China (Bootloader unlock, rooting, installing Google apps and removing bloatware.
02/July/2012
This guide has been tested on two HTC T328W dual-sim phones bought from China. It has also been tested with the following Build numbers and baseband versions and both worked perfectly.
Dear mods: I know this is not the correct thread for this phone. Please create a new subforum for this great phone and move all T328W threads into it. They are all over the place (from One V to Desire, etc.). Thanks.
!!I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE!!
Phone 1:
Kernel: 3.0.16
Baseband: 1.04.34D.11_20.11.30.11U
Build number: 1.35.1402.1
Browser: 534.30
Phone 2:
Kernel: 3.0.16
Baseband: 1.06.34D
Build number: 1.56.1402.6
Browser: 534.30
The zip file containing all needed files can be found at mediafire . c o m / ?783kthx72x3uf5d .
I could not attach the zip file (I get a page not found) and am not allowed to post outside links yet.
Bootloader unlocking
1. Let’s change the language to English first so we understand the phone better. Open the apps menu and go to the Settings icon (the cogwheel icon). Scroll down to the setting with the “A” icon. Click the first item in the list and choose English.
2. Go to htcdev . c o m, create an account and click the Unlock bootloader icon. After logging in, choose “All Other Supported Models” from the list and click the Begin Unlock Boatloader button. Accept that you may lose any guarantee and continue to follow the instructions.
3. To enter bootloader mode, make sure the phone is off (or remove the battery for a few seconds). Then hold Volume Down and start pressing the Power button – without any USB cable. Use the up and down buttons to select “Fastboot” and select it using the Power button. Now connect your USB cable and continue following the HTC instructions.
4. All the files you need are in the zip you can get above. I also installed the HTC Sync program which installs the drivers. Using the command prompt you can simply navigate to the extracted files and run the fastboot command. (Use the command “cd C:/myextractedzip” to change to a directory).
5. Save the Unlock_Code.bin attachment which you get from HTC by Email into the same extracted zip folder and run the next command. You now have an unlocked bootloader and the phone will start up and an HTC wizard will appear where you can choose the English language again.
Flashing clockworkmod
1. Remove any USB cables and boot again into the bootloader mode. Click Fastboot and reconnect your USB cable. Now run the following command on your computer: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . This flashes the clockworkmod recovery image onto the phone.
2. Switch off your phone. Make sure your USB cable is removed.
3. Now copy the “app” folder from the zip onto a micro-sd card. Also copy the “CWM-SuperSU-v0.92.zip” and “rootexplorer_2.16.apk” onto the micro-sd card.
4. Insert the micro-sd card into the phone and boot into boatloader mode again.
5. Now choose the recovery option instead of fastboot and wait for clockworkmod recovery to appear.
Rooting the phone
1. In clockworkmod recovery, choose install zip from sdcard
2. Choose “choose zip from sdcard” and choose “CWM-SuperSU…zip”
3. Scroll down to “Yes – Install CWM-SuperSu” and wait. Now go back and reboot the phone normally.
Installing Google Apps
1. Using the included file manager on the phone, click on “rootexplorer.apk” and install it. When launching root explorer, make sure you grant it superuser permissions.
2. Go click the “sdcard” folder and press and hold the “app” folder that you copied from the zip file. Click “copy” and then navigate to /system . Press “Mount R/W”. And then click “Paste”. Choose Yes to overwrite. Exit root explorer.
3. Now we need to fix the permissions. The easiest way is if you enable USB Debugging mode from the “Developer Options” settings. Make sure you connect your USB cable.
4. Open a command prompt to our extracted zip folder and type “adb shell”. Press enter and you should see “[email protected]:/ $”. Run “su”. Run “cd /system/app”.
5. Now to fix all permissions, run “chmod 644 *.apk” and then run “chown root.root *.apk” .
6. Now run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
Removing bloatware apps
1. Thanks to dark_hawk from xda-developers, we have a list of system apps/bloatware that are save to remove. You can easily do this from the root explorer app. Go to /system/app and hold each item you want to delete. Then click delete. You can also remove each app’s odex file.

If you have any problems, please post below and I will answer and/or update this post.
followed your guide and managed to install the google apps, including Play Market.
Big thanks!
By the way, did you try to install a newer version of android/ ROM?
Hi
Thanks for the instructions. I have installed the update successfully.
Although installing the market initially failed. Before that the phone booted.
After applying the google aps bit the phone didn't startup again it hang at the 'HTC quitly brilliant' screen.
Although after first reinstalling the RUU and after that doing this procedure again it worked. I'm new to Android I can follow instructions although I'm clouless of what I'am actually doing.
I have a few problems though:
1.
After installing however I have a problem that google play now sais that I can't install runkeeper because my phone isn't compatible.
I was able to install this program before on this phone. Anyone a clue on that?
2.
Also I have a problem that if I wan't to apply a system update of android from the about screen it will error with "assert failed: getprop("ro:cid") == "00000000"
Anyone a sollution for that specific for this phone?
3.
Also I have a problem with this phone that my 3G internet is working strangly. I hoped to solve this with installing a newer version.
Some applications are always working like play store, facebook, friendcaster. Youtube app works ok when browsing videos, although can't play.
Whatsapp only seems to work a few minutes after the 3G connection is set up. And internet browsing doesn't work at all. I tried opera and firefox.
With WIFI all is good and then it is a wonderfull phone.
I get good download speeds when I install a program from google play.
Although I would love to have a stable whatsapp and browsing capabilities while i'm away from wifi. Anyone familliar with this problem?
I was hoping to adress the internet issue by updating ICS, although like stated this also fails.
Many thanks ina advance for your help!
Hi
following your instruction I just updated 3 pcs of HTC Build number: 1.56.1402.6. All done, all OK. One think that voice search is not working on phone dialpad, I have to remove it and install voice search from the market - now in apps like maps, phone search working fine. Till now I didn't find any else problem
Thanks very much. BR Kris

Hello guy,
I received this morning this phone from Etotalk.
I bought also from them their preinstalled services including multilangiage OS and unlocking and rooting services (I know how to root but 'cause price was so low....).
However I received the phone...but...:
1. Only English & China language installed
2. Wlan & btooth doesn't work
When I switch on the WLAN appears error message. And remains 'Turning WLAN on'. Also Btooth doesn't switch on
So I am asking myself if this is related to the root process or somewhat else or is an hardware problem ??
I want to flash again a new rom but I don't know where to retrive an ICS rom with italian language....
I opened also a dispute in Paypal.......
Is it possible that all is related to a software problem and not an hardware problem ?
Please let me know, if you can....

Mine is from etotalk too and it works fine!
Try to make first reset the phone! Should be working then! I think, it`s only software problem! if it`s rootet, install the recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751788
and make a NAND Backup! Then you can try to flash the newest European ROM!
But in first step, try to reset the complete phone in SETTINGS-Storage scroll down to end here!
My Desire V is from India and worked fine now i have rooted phone thanks
BB version# 1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U
Build # 1.60.720.5 CL69250 release-key
Browser version # Webkit/534.30
@ Petteri
Any hints on how to make NAND backup? Actually I want to make a backup image of existing setup before playing with it, so as if something goes wrong, I can come back to present state. My phone is also from etotalk. So any help on making recovery backup would be appreciated.

The list:
116114.apk
2254_HTCCU_WO3G_SIE.apk
DoubanFM.apk
DreyeCHSPkg40.apk
HTCCN_FileManager.apk
HTC_Widget_Renren.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Nearby.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Trend.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Trend.apk
HtcMusicEnhancer_China_Sina.apk
HtcMusic_China_Sina.apk
PhoneMail.apk
QQ2011.apk
Renren_FSplugin.apk
Renren_GLRplugin.apk
SinaMusic.apk
Sina_Weibo_FSPlugin.apk
Sina_Weibo_GLRplugin.apk
SohuNews.apk
VDisk.apk
Weibo.apk
eMoney.apk
mapbar.apk
renren.apk
unicomclient_HTCT328W.apk
vegetable.apk
wefound.apk
2. Then run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
3. After the reboot you might still find some Chinese language apps. These can be removed with an app from the Play Store such as Root Uninstaller.

HTC Wind
So I purchased this phone from eBay, it came "unlocked" and I am able to use it in Canada easily. No problems with Google Apps, english, etc.
I don't know if this is a rooted unlock or a hardware carrier unlock.
So, with HTC now telling me there are system updates available, I don't know whether installing them will lock the phone up if it's been rooted. I've written the seller a few times and despite very many positive reviews, I have no answer to this question. So I'm posting here.
I have:
Android 4.0.3
HTC Sense v. 4
Software 1.60.707.5
HTC SDK API level 4.2
HTCEtension_403_1_GA_8
kernel
3.0 16-g320e2d4-dirty
[email protected] #1
PREEMPT
baseband
1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U
build number
1.60.707.5 CL69250 release-keys
browser version
WebKit/534.30
Any help here would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

As your baseband matches the build number it would suggest that you have an original Asia version. You should be able to use the OTA update without problems. If when you run the update it says something about "HTC has detected that the software is not original" then you probably have a Chinese model that has Asia firmware on it.
Unable to stay login to HTCDev
I recently got a Desire V and wants to root it.
Not sure if any of you faces this problem..I have registered at HTCDev and followed the instruction to click on the email link to complete registration. However each time when I successfully log in, I am being thrown out and I need to re-login. Sometimes I am able to succesfully log in to the bootloader section and then am able to select the model and go through the legal notification. But after that Im always thrown out.
Is anyone facing this? I have registered for another id and its the same thing.
Need a HUGE favor...is it possible for someone who has registered successfully and unlocked their bootloader to lend me their userid?? Desperately trying to root this phone. Thanks.
Hello, it seems that the link for the files does not work anymore. Would somebody able to share these files ?
Best regards

Upgrade your firmware to B111 and then perform a factory reset. This happened to me once, and I was able to fix the issue that way.

Thanks for the info.
At first, i upgraded from System Update, Chinese version to B107. After a week i did a Factory Reset. It did not change anything.
Right now i am already on B111. I will do a Factory Reset again, but i don't understand the cause for not working on B107 with factory Reset...
Edit: Factory Reset done (from settings, not recovery), Notification Panel still unavailable...

I followed this thread, thanks to reyncla :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410302&highlight=notification
1. Root your phone: http://androidteen.com/easy-one-click-root-huawei-ascend-p6-android-4-2-2/
2. Use for example Total Commander and go to Android Root directory, folder "Data"
3. Locate "custom.bin" file
4. Open it and remember the content. Mine says "unicom/cn"
5. Go one folder up and go to "Cust" folder
6. Locate "channel" folder and rename it to "unicom" (first part of custom.bin content)
7. Inside it locate folder with the name of your place of living (I chose "weurope", if you live in Nort america, choose "namerica" etc.)
8. Rename it to "cn" (second part of custom.bin content). Because there already was folder named "cn", I deleted it first
9. Perform factory reset
Now notification panel works fine.

How to stop the annoying click sound or change it on Amazon Fire Tv
Do you hate or love the click sound when moving around on the Fire Tv? Well if like me you can't stand that annoying sound, I will tell you how to remove that "click" or replace for a sound of your own? This has been tested on my AFTV2 but Im 99.9 % sure it will work on Gen 1 & the Fire Sticks too (I will try on my Fire Stick later) as long as you have root access.
PLEASE READ
This process needs root access & make sure you only change the file I'm talking about, I will not be responsible if you brick your device by being silly & deleting dependable files on your Fire Tv, I advice you don't delete it just incase then If you need to go back you can change or rename with adb. If you want to make a backup with twrp recovery you can back as far as I can see this process Is safe to do & I have tested & have not had any problems (so far).
Steps-
1. Using a file manager goto system/media/audio/ui
2. Select Mount R/W if you haven't already so you have authority to write to the device
3. Select, tick or change the Effect_Tick.ogg file & press rename
4. Rename as Effect_Tick.ogg.bac
5. Exit the file manager & now reboot the device using the select & the play/pause buttons held down together for about 5 or 6 seconds
6. Now a message will flash Up saying something like Effect_Tick.ogg not working or something similar? (Don't panic)
7. Once rebooted the annoying click has gone!
Replacing for a blank file
I have included a download of blank audio which i named Effect_Tick.ogg (just needs to be unziped) if you just replace this with the old sound or .bac the original & push this ogg file in the location system/media/audio/ui & then reboot you will have a non clicking scroll & also wont get any error Effect_Tick.ogg not working messages.
Bringing the click back
If you want to bring the click back, go back into system/media/audio/ui & delete the .bac part at the end of the name so it's Effect_Tick.ogg once again, reboot & it's back.
Changing the click for a different/custom sound
Or after you have done step 4 you could copy a audio file In the ogg format & name it Effect_Tick.ogg & then reboot
