I have Pixel 3 XL and this one bluetooth speaker, a JBL charge, won't auto connect to it. I have bluetooth on and when I go to the car it connects no problem. But the JBL it wont. I have to go into bluetooth settings, click paired devices, and click the JBL to pair it every time. Really annoying. Suggestions?

In BT settings under the device details of your JBL speaker which options do you have available? For testing I would turn all of them off (phone calls, contact sharing) except media audio. If you have HD audio available, you may try alternating between media audio and HD audio.

Exactly which model are you using eg. charge 3 or charge 4? Have you tried resetting the bt speaker? Are you using any other bt devices that may be conflicting, like a watch? If all this fails try downloading this app called BT Auto Connect. It's not regularly maintained but still works for me.
I have the same issue (years later, apparently). I have a JBL Flip and Flip 5 and neither will autoconnect to my macbook. I think, it might be an issue on my end since the same goes for my Marshall Killburn. Anyone with a similar problem?
Any help is appreciated.

I can't get my HTC One to send music by bluetooth to my car stereo. It pairs just fine, but when I look a the config menu for my stereo in the bluetooth devices menu, it only show the phone profile, not the music(A2DP) profile.
My stereo is A2DP capable. It's a Pioneer DEH-X6600BT, for what that's worth.
Am I just missing a step here?

No, just as phone. How do I make it connect as a media device as well?
My brother just paired his Nexus 5 with my car stereo and it worked with music without any issues. Is this just a problem with the HTC One? No matter what I try, I can't make it pair as a media device, only as phone audio. I've tried both stock, and CM11 roms....

What brand of car stereo are you using it on? Mine's a new Pioneer. Media audio works flawlessly from a Nexus 5, and an iPhone 4, but my HTC One will only pair with phone audio.

Mine is a new pioneer too. The the FH-X700BT.
So weird! It's getting frustrating. I wonder what is causing it.. Has to be the phone, since the stereo works fine with other phones...

Try EclipticONE, it's the only rom besides stock that's worked for me.
It might not help you at all but I was having issues with my stereo and bluetooth and found an updated firmware for my stereo on the company's website. Once I flashed it to my stereo unit it fixed everything. It might be worth a try to look and see if you need an update.
I have a Pioneer deck in the truck and I can easily connect via bluetooth and play music, however, I cannot hear the calls in or out. My note will connect but again, no sound. I have reset the deck and even cleared the bluetooth cache/data to no avail. Anyone ever had this issue/resolved it?

Anyone?

Sorry buddy I don't have a solution for you, but I got the same issue only thing I noticed is that whenever I text comes in the deck will lower the volume for sec and just continue playing.

I'm not sure if you have check this yet but bluetooth devices typically support a number of profiles dependant on what the device supports. Go into your phone bluetooth settings, verify that your bluetooth connection to your Pioneer deck is set to allow both call audio and media audio by tapping on the gear on the right for the Pioneer deck bluetooth config on your phone.
If not toggle the setting.

And if that doesn't work, try unpairing and repairing.
That too!

Anyone can help?

Mine doesn't appear to stick either, but when I use my BT speaker I see an option in the connect dialog to use the Qualcomm aptX driver even though the codec is set to default (SBC). I don't see this aptX option when using my car or earbuds. I know this doesn't really help much, but I thought it was relative. I do know that the AVRCP setting does stick. Have you looked in the Google Issue Tracker? I'll go and star the issue if I can find it.
Edit: It is THERE listed as closed due to lack of data, feedback. Seems they ignored the obvious.... codec selection not sticking?
How do you tell if aptx is working while you're playing something to say a wireless speaker?

In BT settings I see a toggle for Qualcomm aptX and it's on... but in Dev Ops the BT codec still says Default: SBC. I think the audio codec setting there is busted, but the phone seems to use the best available codec. The device is a Creative (Soundblaster) Roar BT speaker. Now if I could only get the phone to auto connect to my car kit. Stays paired but will only manually connect which is a real pain.

Hmmm. My JBL Flip 4 is paired and it can use aptx but no option there. Weird.
My fm transmitter car kit will connect automatically, as long as it's set for media and phone calls.. Is yours just set for media only?

Yes, I've tried every combination there. It was working perfect with the N6P, and has never worked with the P2XL. Car kit is the absolute cheapest Chinese one you can find on Ebay... audio only, BT version 2.0 I think with no phone mic lol. Time to pony up and get a newer/better one. Had not considered FM transmitter because my car has the line in AUX. in my console so I can hide it.... It's about the size of a matchbox. This is a first world problem I know, but really annoying to me, and I know it's the phone because the Nexus was working for a year no problems. Thanks for your response.

We are both very frustrated here. Me cause I know I have an aptx capable device and am not getting to use it. You because you can't do a simple auto connect via bluetooth. Oy! Come on January update!
see my post here for a similar issue that I was able to workaround fairly easy
TLDR: You need root, edit your build.prop (using text editor, some app from the play store, etc) and change the following key: persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap
by removing -aac from the string.
I'm sorry if it looks like I'm spamming I just encountered this issue on a lot of forums with no result and I do hope that this will help some
Hey everyone, basically since the first day that i got this phone, the bluetooth been a pain for me, when any device is connected (car multimedia, speaker, headphones etc) to the phone and i will play music via the device thats connected, the audio will cut for a second every few minutes, tried looking for a fix without any luck, really considering switching the phone because of that, any possible fix ?

definitely only Bluetooth, i'm using wired headphones on a daily basis without any interference and i'm using Spotify and Youtube.
I am still trying to track down the problem I am having, but it definitely does it on wired headsets, too. It seems to get really bad for a while and then goes a while without doing it.
For reason Bluetooth audio doesn't work properly when I'm connecting it to car Bluetooth. However it works fine with headsets. I tried different cars by different brands and the issue stays. Please help.
No issue here. What is the issue ? Calls or music?

Music. The audio sounds muffled. Was using OP6T before and it works perfectly. Issue happens only in iqoo9Pro
sounds like an issue with the BT codecs. Jump into Developer mode and play with the BT settings.
See screenshot attached.

Does cheking the disable bluetooth a2dp hardware offload fixes it? if not return that setting to the default if you want.
