Kernel Question - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I am using Masik X 1.7 with insigniux kernel. Before this I was using Kirk's Kernel and I remember my antutu score and performance was better. Kirk's is not updating for a long time, do you know what is the differences between these two kernels and which one of them is better ? Thanks for your answers and sorry for my english. Btw you can suggest another kernel.

well kirks its overclocked to 2.2 ghz while insigniux its clocked at 1.8ghz

Overclocking

I would like to overclock my Dinc, I'm currently running skyraider 4.0 and have the stock kernel running right now. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a new kernel.. but all the ones I see give you about a 100Mhz overclock. This would be fine.. however I'm wondering if I could overclock to a potentially more unstable speed for a minimal amount of time.. are there any kernels that allow this? Also, what kernel would you recommend?
Thanks,

No kenel that i've seen on the inc have surpassed the clock speed of 1.2 ghz so no.
Alright thanks.

GTA III Framerate

Anyone else have issues regarding the frame rate on their GNex? I haven't encountered the multitouch issue but I'd like the game to run smoothly. Ironically, an HD texture patch did help a little.
Are you using a kernel that overclocks the GPU to 384 MHz?
No lag for me as well. ROM/kernel in signature.
None whatsoever running stock unrooted with HD textures installed. Smooth as butter

Just note that kernel doesn't work on ARHD because ARHD is on 4.0.2. Kernel supports 4.0.3+
So you'll have to find a ROM thats using 4.0.3 (or modaco with 4.0.3 kernel support), or a kernel with 4.0.2 compatability. 4.0.3 also comes with optimizations that should help.
running ARHD with James Bond kernel 1.35 OC UV, the game run really smooth. patched.
Guys wanted to post an update:
I applied the (only) 4.0.2 kernel (James Bond) OC'd at 1.4, I later decided I didn't need an OC so I used SetCPU to bring it back to 1.2 Ghz, and UV'd as well. The GPU OC made a *huge* difference. Thanks guys.

Best ROM for o/cing ABOVE 815Mhz

Hey guys,
I have had incredible success on overclocking my Wildfire S upto 815 Mhz.Now,I would like o know of ROMS that do not have a kernel limit on the max OC(like the some people who have overclocked their's to 864Mhz),preferably something that has voltage control,or gpu clock speed control(if that is possible). Please help me out here. TIA!
864? What kernel is that? And it can't be stable. Your not gonna get more than 824 with CM
Wildfire s MarvelC
Simonsense 3.5
Dust kernel OC 815mhz
Antutu Benchmark Score 1911
IDK what kernel that is,but some people here keep it as their signature : wildfire s @ 864Mhz.Do you know f any kernels which support 864Mhz?
No stable ones atm, keep at 815 if you want a usable phone.
Why do you want to fry your phone and battery?
I don't want to fry my phone and battery,I want to try my luck.I probably won't overclock to 864,but au was thinking something along the lines of 830,maybe 840 Mhz.
On CM7 by alquez you can do this. Max is 864 MHz.
Well,if anyone's still interested in this,I found 2 such things:
Kernel :
http://www.mediafire.com/?cb7dl4z5yqd78hq - DCPLXv1.1 - O/C upto 825Mhz,for Sense ROMs(I think).(Link was taken from WildChild page)
ROM(as mentioned above, comes with the alquez kernel) :

Cm7 can't take adreno upgrade so its always slower than sense roms.
Try sense roms with dust or cake.
That dcplex I think max 815. It's good for battery tho.

The dcplx kernel does have the 825 option, it just doesn't work.
Edit: Does work. Rom toolbox was being a ****.

Might be silly ..

How do I overclock my Xperia S GPU?
Im running a kernel that supports that, but is it overclocked or should I do something first?
You can't oc the GPU yourself..like you use setcpu for CPU..its already over clocked in xyz kernel..

Most stable overclock on stock inc2 kernel?

I haven't seen any posts about the stock kernel on inc 2.
I just recently rooted and s-off'd, and installed PAC rom which has LOTS of options and customizations including overclock. But I didn't flash a new kernel yet and was wondering if anyone has recommended cpu settings for the stock kernel, making sure it's stable. I've only been testing for a day but I've found 1.2ghz to be stable and I'm going to continue to increase it until it becomes unstable.
Usually 1.4 is nice, with vr or sio or bfq and smartassv2 is good

I had some lags on 1.4 , but smartassv2+bfq definatly best choice for overclocked device.

How's battery life with this?
i have evervolv kernel ,working with 1.7GHZ
my inc 2 work with 1.7Ghz no panic,no rebooting
Stable OC
I've had good success with 1400MHz Max. with SmartassV2. and 768MHz Min. I've used these settings with several different ROMs and various Kernels. They always seem to provide stablity, decent performance and only a minor hit to battery life.
