Hello,
I recently sideloaded the new OneUI beta ( https://www.xda-developers.com/install-one-ui-beta-samsung-galaxy-s9-galaxy-s9-plus/ ) and would like to know how I could reverse this process.

Flash back to the Oreo firmware with ODIN... guides are all over XDA and sammobile
Since it's sideloaded I'm not sure if it will work but the latest version of Smart Switch for Windows has an option to roll back the OTA's to Oreo.
I am in the same position as the op. I have the rom I need to flash. Should I flash all components including bl, csc, ap etc or just ap? Smart Switch doesn't allow me to roll back. Cheers.

All, flash the same way you would any time, and use CSC not HOME_CSC
Hi all. Is it possible to roll back using smart switch for Mac? I don't have access to a Windows PC, so if it's not possible to roll back using the Mac version, is there any other way apart from Odin?
I have successfully gone back to Oreo. UK rom from updato. Odin 3.13.1 Flashed bl, ap, cp and csc (not csc home). I had the latest smart switch installed but no option to go back to Oreo in it. Thanks for advice on here.

ODIN 3.12?
ODIN 3.13.1 was needed for Oreo
Oops my bad. 3.13.1
You can with odin. Tested by me and many others.

Guys
My mobile model is SM-N750 (Indian edition).
I have successfully flashed stock firmware thru ODIN earlier. Recently I changed my firmware to Pakistan from Sammobile.
Now I like to go back to Indian firmware, however it is failing again & again. I am though successfully able to flash Pakistan firmware again.
Phone is working properly but cant go back to Indian firmware.
Please check.
I know how to flash in ODIN. This is something diff.
1- Try another source of odin, same version but another source
2- Try flashing the firmware more than once, it will work in one of them
3- Try different firmware and see if it worker, then the problem is with the firmware
4- Make sure the files are for your mobile version
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried 3 firmware files. No luck.
I think I guess what is the issue. Pak firmware version is higher than Indian firmware version. So the bootloader has been changed. That is the reason it is not allowing to install a lower bootloader firmware.
I hope once sammobile will have KK firmware downloadable I would be able to flash that.
I am successfully able to flash Indian Kitkat ROM from Sammobile.
So the point to be noted...You can not go back to old firmware once you upgraded to new one.

That did not work. I have tried that earlier. It was older that PAK firmware...
Now I am successfully flashed Kitkat.
I have an SM-G960W running on the August 1st patch, and I'd like to keep it that way. I wanted to know if it was possible to update the BL, CP, and the CSC via ODIN from updated sammobile firmwares without losing any of my data, or having my security patch updated as well. Thank you in advance for any help
Bump
Nobody? Excuse my ignorance. Not looking to be spoonfed, but even being guided in the right direction to find my answer would be greatly appreciated
with F Model it is no problem.
just flash newer Firmware with AP, BL, CP and HOME_CSC
BUT
1. you have to use a G960W Firmware of course
2. OTA wont work if those firmware package was not released for your Model/CSC as an offical OTA Update from Samsung

That's the thing though. I DON'T want to flash the new AP, because that surely updates security patch, etc. I want to know if I can take the BL, CP, and CSC from the newest firmwares (matching my model of course), and flash those in Odin to keep my current security patch, and phone data, while getting BL, CP, AND CSC updates

in theory this should work also....
But, maybe phone wont boot if BL/CSC/CP is newer then AP.
Also, why no newer security patch/bug fixes etc?

Why are you asking? Just flash what you want to flash, if it doesn't work flash stock again
If the bootloader updates it's version you might have no choice but to update AP too though
Why don't you want the latest security update?

I don't want the newest security patches because I'm a huge Pokémon go player, and all of that translates to making things more difficult. Both bootloaders are version 3, between the one I'm on, and the targeted firmware for BL, CP, and CSC, so it should be fine right?

I have seen official Samsung firmware with CSC version higher than AP. So this isn't a problem

So in theory it should be okay to keep my current AP (with August 1st security patch), and flash updated BL, CP, and CSC from sammobile? Without losing my data and/or current security patch or anything like that?

Theoretically. But this is your own risk. I'd say there is virtually no risk involved as I've seen official updates only bumping the CSC (two with the same AP) so this is true. Yet again everything can happen so backup is your friend. Backup on SmartSwitch or whatever you use for backup, go ahead and flash.
Okay I am on pie. CSA2 or whatever solidres latest ROM is. I'm not liking pie at all. Mainly for design and no V4A support or any dual speaker/ louder volume mods.
Can I downgrade or flash Oreo ROMS while on a PIE ROM? I flashed the twrp flashable stuff after I flashed the rom.
Please any help is great thanks
Flash stock with ODIN using CSC not HOME_CSC, done

You downgraded from Pie to Oreo and retained root, I'd love to hear how.....
Unless you flashed a pre-rooted ROM, which is obvious you would have root after downgrading that way

Whole point was me wanting to downgrade. Was able. Flashed stock rooted and viola. Now I'm back on pie since 8.0 is trash and Google play ALWAYS FC after 1 day
Just downgraded my S9+ back to Oreo. Pie was terrible, huge battery drain.
HOME_CSC for downgrading?

I want to downgrade from Pie to Orie on my Galaxy S9.
So I downloaded the firmware from Sammobile which has both CSC and HOME_CSC
Two questions:
Are there any other things that need to be done on the phone before downgrading like factory reset or something?
I read that HOME_CSC will Flash the firmware without wiping the data. Can I use HOME_CSC for downgrading ? (I haven't rooted my phone)

Is it possible to restore full backup from SmartSwitch taken on Pie back to Oreo ?
Hello, I am using Odin v3.13.3
My phone was running with latest Ukraine firmware which is:
A705FNXXU3ASJ3 ap
A705FNXXU3ASJ3 bl
A705FNXXU3ASH1 cp
A705FNOXM3ASJ3 csc
Today I wanted to format it and decided to do it via Odin. But it stuck at system.img. So I tried to flash the firmware which was just before the newest one. And Odin flashed it with success.
I also had the same problem when I tried to install that older firmware a few months ago till I found Odin with version 3.13.3
So, What do I need to do, I couldn't find a newer Odin. Is there any other problem. How can I flash the latest firmware via Odin?
Thanks ^^
where is home csc, there is only 4 but must have 5 to flash...

It's same as csc, if you flash home csc it doesn't wipe. If you flash only CSC, it wipes your phone. You select one of them, you can't flash both.
And as you see, I succesfully flashed an older firmware. The problem is that odin can't flash the newest firmware.

i saw the U1 firmware could be flashed over the U firmware on the S9 on some threads. i mainly want to switch to the U1 firmware cause i saw it has android 10 on it while the U firmwares dont yet. My S9 is running up-to-date firmware of G960USQS7CSK5. ive tried using odin, odin patched 3B, and odin modded by raymond all version 3.13.1. For the U1 firmwares ive tried DTA5 (android 10) and CSK2 (android pie) to flash over the U firmware thats currently running on my phone. when i use any of the odins besides the raymonds modded one. i get a fail error right after "setup connection". then for the raymond modded version ive tried twice now and first time i got a fail for "Auth write" and second time i got a fail after "initialization" but no reason why it fails. ive looked all over threads and the tips seem to be scrambled all over the forums about it but i cant seem to get a clear answer. any ideas how i can get this to go through? its becoming frustrating
Bump
Are you using the CSC or the HOME_CSC file? I tried flashing the U1 DTA5 firmware earlier today using the HOME_CSC file and got errors, but using the CSC file worked fine.
