T Mobile:
18 Months £25/month
300 minutes Anytime Any network
300 texts Anytime Any network
Unlimited Internet Anytime Any network
Handset - £179.99
Same deal from Mobile Phones Direct UK was only 5.99 for the handset + RMSD = £10
I am hoping the MPD deal is not too good to be true as I pre-ordered one yesterday...

apparently someone from the forum emailed them and they are only selling silver devices. if you want a silver device then mpd is one of the cheapest out there!
............
I hope I can get it for free, or sell my G1 to get the cash to cover the handset.
Am not sure about T-Mobile they have some great deals but will the phone be a HTC Desire or a T-Mobile "Random Name" G3?
EDIT: Are the carphone warehouse just putting this on their site to create a buzz, get more preorders?
The tarrifs certainly don't seem genuine, especially when you consider that when you take any android phone on T-mobile you need to take Unlimited Internet which most of these price plans don't have.
Contracts still seem very expensive when SIM-free handsets are selling at less than £400 ( see here - http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=2749 )
A SIM-only deal, 600mins/600texts plus unlimited internet is £15 a month, plus, say, £400 for the phone - T-Mobile's cheapest unlimited data contract is £35 a month x 24, plus £50 for the handset - a total of £890! That's nearly 3 years use on a SIM-only deal after paying for the handset!
Worth saving the pennies, selling the dog, and smashing the piggy bank, IMHO.

In my experience Carphone Whorehouse are generally more expensive than going through the network direct.
Wait to see what the prices are from the network providers. I would imagine that the same deal that you mention, direct from T-Mobile, will have a handset price closer to £139.99
I have an upgrade due on the 25th (day before release on T-Mob) but no idea what the upgrade prices will be.
Also to date, no idea if the 3G issue affecting the Hero will be exempt from the Desire.
Guess time is a wonderful thing and all will be revealed soon.
Do we know what the Silver one looks like??
I imagen its Silver >.>

I much prefer the black/brown model.

See here. Someone posted pics of both...
My "T-Mobile" phone from Carphone Warehouse actually came unlocked! I suspected as much when there was no T-Mobile labeling at all and the opening animation just said HTC. So, while I'm waiting for my number to transfer from o2 I decided to try and use my o2 SIM card. It works! and the network settings all changed automatically.
so... if you want one unlocked but don't mind starting up a contract and just want it moveable depending on what country you may be in at a given moment... buy from Carphone warehouse! (At least from their website)
J
How much are they charging in store?
Carphone Warehouse phones are always unlocked. One of their trademarks if you will (that they sell unlocked sim-free phones)
Unfortunately they are quite a lot more expensive than going direct to t-mobile, I was looking at £20pm + £129 for 600 minutes, CPW seem to be £20 for 300 minutes + £189 also internet uses your booster, from tmobile you get internet then use your booster for free landline calls etc. looks better to go to tmobile then pay them £15 to unlock?
It's so they can buy in bulk and offer the same phone with numerous providers.
plus £129 for the handset?!
Are you upgrading?
T-Mobile gave me 600 minutes, unlimited text, web n walk max and a free handset for £15 a month on an 18 month contract. Works out cheaper than buying the phone and plus I'm getting a monthly bill.
You guys need to argue for better deals! haha
I just pre-ordered the One X from Phones 4U and got a fab deal:
Phone Cost: £109.99
£28.50 per month, 600 mins, 3000 texts, 1GB data
Free HTC Media Link HD adapter (bonus!!).
I then phoned up Phones4U and told them I was thinking of cancelling the contract and just buying the phone outright. They then offered me the phone for free so I got £109.99 refunded!
Just thought I would share in case anything was thinking of buying one
Also the Media Link HD adapter is only free whilst on Pre Order.

Amazing!! I've ordered it with the £36 a month deal, free handset might ring them up to see if they can give me anything free

hmmmm...
i've ordered from Amazon (£500 for the phone), and am planning to use a £10 monthly giffgaff contract (unlimited data), which works out at £620 over a year.
the phones4u deal is incredibly tempting, but i'd only want a 12 month contract, which limits me to vodafone, 500mb only, and £150 for the phone, £36 per month.
just not 100% sure i'll like the phone and stick with it when the iphone 5 / sg 3 announcements are out.

Get it done!
It's what I did.
Pre-ordered the white One X, & will use my giffgaff SIM.
... However, I will have to cut it down, as i believe the ONE X uses a micro sim like the iPhone.

Good deal, I didn't see the last bit! Was just about to point out the phone is free with cashback from dialaphone. Good stuff
It still works out cheaper going for the 12 month Dial A Phone deal why:
£109.99 for the phone,
£432.00 for year contract,
£541.99 total cost.
Minus Quidco -£65 (4 more days to go still)
£476.99.
Assuming Quidco pays out 99.9% it does.
You get the HD link thrown in for free. You could potentially sell this if you don't use it otherwise if purchased separately will cost up to £80.
What's more if you don't like it, just cancel the contract obviously you'd have to pay off X remaining months if your few months into it but works to be few quid cheaper than buying from Amazon with the benefit of the free media link.
Long winded but ya know!
This way it works out slightly cheaper buying from Amazon but can also have GG as main sim, think of it spreading your costs instead of one hit.

It seems all new Vodafone 12 month contracts include a free 3 month test drive for data. So for 3 months you can use as much data as you want.
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/personal/mobile-internet/on-your-phone/data-test-drive/?cid=rdr-4870-01
Then you have an option to add additional data which works out £5 per 500mb or decline and stick with the standard 500mb.
That is a bloody good deal!!! I'm definitely interested in that. 12 month contract is perfect, that's such a cheap deal! Gonna have to speak to Orange and see if they can match that as I've been with them for 10 years. Was looking at £36 a month for 750mb but 18 month contract (phone upgradeable after 15) and free phone or so. Hmmmm. Thanks for your help!
Interestingly Phones4u emailed me this message today (I have preordered the Htc ONE X):

It's done! Been playing with my giffgaff sim in my old iphone, all seems to be working fine, got mms etc set up. Will need to get my PAC code from o2.
Also happy in the knowledge that amazon + prime will get my phone to me as soon as humanly possible!
I've got a sim cutter I can use too

Just text 'settings' to 2020 I think & it does it for you.
GiffGaff is awesome, unlimited data is worth the tenner alone.
I use between 250mb - 500mb per working day through music streaming apps, so all these operators offering 1gb unlimited usage is hilarious to me. Lol

Ordered mine from mobiles.co.uk last week and they told me 7-14 days! :O
although they've now changed that on their website to W/B the 2nd of april
got it on Orange for £31 a month, 400 mins, unlimited texts and 750mb data, and the phone was a tenner
not too bad, cant wait!

Fantastic if you can though!
I've preordered my black HTC One X from phones4you yesterday, free phone 37.00 per month with 600mins unlimited txts and 1gb of data.
Out of interest how many of you are planning on insuring your new One X?
just called Phones4u asking about doing an upgrade pre-order for the one X.
They offered me the one X black on tmobile, on the all you can eat plan (I asked for that as I wanted the data plan because I didnt want a limited one for those times I need it). Plus the HD media link for free on the £41 per month contract.
Im looking forward to getting the confirmation emails to know its all sorted

Definately getting insurance when the phone arrives!
Hey Guys, I am going to the UK for 2 weeks next week and was wondering what were my options of using this phone over there. I heard you can buy a sim card for like 10 pounds to use for the duration. Any suggestions or anyone use this phone overseas before?

I have used my S3 overseas (Ireland) before and was amazed by how ridiculously cheap it was. You obviously must be unlocked. For example carrier Three uk has a prepaid option for £15 that gets you unlimited data, 300 minutes and 3000 texts. http://store.three.co.uk/view/searchSimOnly?tariff=112
O2 has similar but a bit more expensive. Sims there are usually free with a top up. Mine was €20 and after 3 weeks I left with 11€ left. And I use a LOT of data. Other notable carriers are Vodafone, Virgin. Check their websites an you will find awesome pre-paid sim only options.
Virgin Mobile http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/promos/AddictSIMO.html
T-Mobile (UK) http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-as-you-go/plans/
Vodafone http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/sim-only-deals/index.htm
Orange http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/plans/paygPlanList.jsp?_requestid=694
Hi Guys
I'm looking to buy one to use with my Three contract SIM, but really hate waiting for deliveries. I can pick up a PAYG handset from O2.. but does anybody know if these handsets would be network-locked? Or could I use my Three SIM with it?
Thanks
its unlocked, can be used on any network. i got mine from o2 and use it on three.
Unlocked mate. I purchased mine from O2 but I use a three SIM
Mine works on Vodafone too
Unlocked (I'm using my 3 SIM) like everyone else said BUT if you buy from an O2 brick and mortar store they'll make you buy a £15 SIM card. They did with me anyway.
Don't bother asking the staff in-store because they either flat-out lie and say it's locked or they just don't know.
Also bought mine from O2; have both the O2 and my usual Virgin SIM in the phone. Both work fine.
Only odd thing is that I asked for the 10£ SIM, but the computer at the store wouldn't accept it, so I had to accept a 15£ SIM. One-time purchase, and I got the device instantly though, so I took it. I don't think the OP5T is sold locked anywhere (don't quote me on this though).
Perfect, thanks everybody.. I did as you said and brought it direct from O2 and also had to get the £15 PAYG SIM.. but its only about £6 extra compared to buying direct (with their faster delivery).. and I got it the same day. Really impressed so far.

I thought that. You just have to select a pay as you go sim but it doesn't cost anything
If you have an O2 SIM or you can borrow one, you don't need to pay for the £15 top up in store either. Just take the SIM in with you (in a working phone) and they'll sell you the 5t as an upgrade. During the process they send two SMS messages to the existing O2 SIM a each of which contains a four digit number. You read those back to them and hey presto you get the new phone without buying the £15 top up. I've bought two this way now, both using the same number.

Very true, I was just trying to help the OP as they said they didn't like waiting around for deliveries This was the first phone I didn't order online for years! It was weird! Kinda cool too. I wish phone stores in the UK sold a wider range of Chinese phones at reasonable prices. I guess the phone networks wouldn't like that!
