Hi,
I individually cleared cache of apps like Google, Google Drive, Op community app, Yahoo, XDA and tons of other apps because as per disk usage they were talking up lots of space. Now all these apps are not working. I mean when I open them they just keep on loading. I am on the latest stock 5.1.7 update. What should I do? Can't format as due to the amount of data, can't backup because don't have access to a pc right now.
Thanks

I formated my SD, did a full wipe and installed Android Revolution HD.
For some reason all my apps reappeared (does google sync them when I log in with my google account?), but they won't show up as installed in the market.
I can't get any automatic updates that way.
Is there any way to make the market recognize my apps without having to manually reinstall every single one?
Thanks for your help.
Deleting data and clearing cache of the market in the applications menu fixed it.
Hi all!
I got an app called "App 2 SD Free" made by Sam Lu today. And it suggesting clearing my app cache (clear app cache, that what it says) and I am confused with what will it do. For example, will it clear my Facebook App sign in data? And is this app cache is Dalvik Cache?
Edit: Oh, guys it's too late. I accidentally cleared it And looks like no change.

Im also a user of that app. And i cleared it many times and nothing happened to me. Sign-in data's will not be cleared even if u clear the application cache and application data (checked for gmail, market).
Cache is a storage space for temporary files. And clearing cache will speed up the applications definitely. And that's also a way to free up memory.
Coming to dalvik cache,
Dalvik cache is a program cache area for the program dalvik. Dalvik is a java based virtual machine that is the bases for running your programs (the ones that have the .apk extension), in order to make access times faster (because there's not JIT compiler installed by default). The dalvik-cache is the result of dalvik doing a optimization of the running program. It's similar to the prefetch files in Windows.
[sorry if im wrong]
Cleared all of my login data. Erased bec I got mad when I realized it.

Sorry for that. Like i said, i checked it with gmail and market only. Later i came to know that gmail once attached to the wildfire cannot be deleted. The only way to remove gmail is hard reset. And market uses gmail login data.
And im using stock 2.2 wildfire. And i checked facebook for htc sense and plurk. These login data's will also be not deleted by clearing cache/data. And maybe we cannot expect 3rd party apps to retain their login data even after clearing cache/data (example: XDA app).
Lag is typically a result of Android working really hard to do all the things you want at the same time. You may be right that an application may be hogging the CPU or even the RAM. Try to keep the number of applications/processes you do to a minimum (e.g load a web page, while sending an email, while opening contacts, etc.).
If you want to attempt to resolve the problem let's first assume that it's an application that's causing the problem.
Go to Settings (from Home Screen) --> about phone --> and check to see if any applications are on the list. If the application has a decent amount of battery usage from it (>5%) you may want to investigate the app further.
Then go to Applications (from settings) --> running services. This will let you know what apps have been stored in memory (RAM) and how much space they're taking up. When an application takes up more RAM then it should, it can cause our phone to work harder to get rid of apps not in use (this is how Android multi-tasks).
Ok let's assume this isn't an apps fault it may be time to clean your system cache. Have you ever noticed when you get a new computer, it's super fast, but as the years go on, your PC gets slower and slower. Sometimes things get stored in a cache which can slow down the system. To clear the cache on your android all you have to do is reset your phone to factory defaults. WARNING THIS WILL DELETE ALL OF YOUR APPLICATIONS you can of course re-download them, however it's not guaranteed that any of the information you have saved in the apps will persist. Anything saved on your SD card will remain unaffected.
Once you get everything downloaded and back to normal, you should notice your phone is pretty zippy again. However reseting your phone can be a pain and should only be done if you really can't pinpoint an application(s) that is responsible.

This is wrong my friend, you can clear cache from recovery and it does nothing to apps installed. No need to wipe phone.
Yep iv`e just cleared /system, /boot, cleared cache and Dalvik cache, flashed AIO 3.0.4 and all my apps are still there.
I do find stopping certain apps (which i rarely use) after boot does help a tad...
Install Custom ROM ipdate without full wipe?

No.
When you go from 2.x to 3.x you need to perform a full wipe. Just system cache and dalvik cache is not good enough.
You can, however, sync your phone with google, make a titanium backup, use the app backup/restore scripts from InsertCoin (search for them) before and after flashing the new ROM, in order to minimize the amount of setup you have to do afterwards.

Help!
For some reason my A3 started to act weird (maybe because it noticed that I ordered an S9). Almost all my apps aren't accessible anymore. When I click on something it starts the app and then closes it shortly after telling me the app needs a restart.
Only few apps work (Whatsapp, Calendar, Instagram, Calculator for example)
I tried wiping the cache partition (where it says it can't find the /misc partition, don't know if this is normal), wiping app cache directly and reinstalling apps. Nothing helped.
Thanks in advance!
start everything from the beginning,
just wipe your /data from twrp.
and everything will fine.
dont forget to backup your data inside internal memory, because it will be wiped too
Bit desparate here, need any assistance.
Out of nowhere, "Media" is force-closing every 2 seconds. Can't read internal storage using any file manager, they all force-close when trying to view internal storage (Mixplorer can read root just fine). (About Device --> Storage) shows system taking 17.1 GB, but "System" is actually taking 236 GB. Phone freezes every minute. Play Store can't launch as if I have no internet connection. Half the apps crash randomly (WhatsApp is fine, Telegram is crashing).
Connecting to the laptop shows the device, correct storage, and I can see all my folders, files, photos and videos, but attempting to copy any of them fails with an error "unreachable".
What I tried so far - apart from hours of searching - was the following:
1. Rebooting multiple times.
2. Disabling all Magisk modules.
3. Clearing data and cache of Google Play Store, Google Play Services, and Google Services Framework.
4. Clearing data and cache of Download Manager as suggested online.
5. Clearing data and cache of Contacts and Contacts Storage.
6. Apps--> Special access --> All files access --> "Media" --> Allowed.
Interestingly, with OxygenOS 13, there's no more "Media Storage" app to stop/clear. It's now "Media" with no option to force stop or clear data/cache. Also there's no more option to clear cache only in stock recovery, and the "Reset app preferences" is also gone, thanks OnePlus.
Obviously I can't download any file/mod as there's no storage to save it on. I can't even take/save a screenshot for the same reason.
I don't mind resetting, but I need to backup the internal storage to my computer first. Any suggestion is really appreciated.
