You can try using adb (pull and push) commands, but as you are trying to do that with an Android OS file I believe you would need to grant root to adb.
I might be wrong, you can try though, if it doesn't work, try searching on Google there might be a workaround for that.

OK, so, I messed up a bit.
My phone works nearly perfectly. In fact, I would say perfectly aside from being able to download OTA updates.
A while back I used Stump root to root my LS990.
Everything worked and it was rooted.
I modified my build.prop to make it seem as if it were a samsung phone in order to use the Milk music app.
Once I had finished fooling around, I used SuperSU to unroot, only to remember a day later that i forgot to restore my build.prop.
I cannot re-root due to the version incompatibility I created by modifying build.prop.
Is there any way to gain temporary root access so I can restore the original build.prop?
Thanks for your help

This is what i've tried
adb devices
<device shows up>
adb pull /system/build.prop
<make necessary changes to build.prop>
adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
failed to copy 'build.prop' to '/system/build.prop': Read-only filesystem
When i enter the shell and type su, it says command not found, most likely because my device is not rooted.

I don't know of any other useful universal root tools. I can't restore to stock; for some reason it refuses to connect to my LG PC Suite.
When I try stump, it says my device is incompatible.

So, i did even *more* digging and found a work around for the LG Flash Tool. I had to replace the stock .dll file with a generic LG G3 .dll file.

Hello friends i am glad we are successful in getting xposed on lenovo k4 note.
Here we present the 100℅ working method for it
Firstly i think you have rooted already your k4 if not see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/root-lenovo-vibe-k4-note-t3313481
First you have to replace kingroot with supersu
Download this file Mod Edit: link removed.
extract it and place mrw folder in internal sdcard i.e. address should be sdcard/mrw
Ok now download this terminal emulator Mod Edit: link removed.
and open it.
Type su and enter
kingroot root allow window will open .press allow.
Now
It will show # rather than $
Now type
sh sdcard/mrw/root.sh
And enter and wait
supersu will automatically open now ask to update binary press yes and select normal.
Now install flashfire by chainfire here https://play.google.com/apps/testing/eu.chainfire.flash
And install
Now download these files
Mod Edit: links removed.
Ok open flashfire
Click + button
Select flash zip file
Select the downloaded xposed-v80-sdk22-arm64.zip
And flash
It will automatically flash and reboot now install downloaded xposed apk and
There you go.
Like everytime you are welcomed to ask questions like noobs
No problem everyone was a noob first.
UPDATE: this method has been tested on 2 k4 notes more than 3 times without any problems. this method will work for every phone with locked as well as unlocked bootloader but just download suitable xposed binary for your phone if your phone is not 64bit.

I can't understand how can you lose imeis with this method.
There is no such thing like that.
Imei partition is different from system.
Maybe you tried firmware upgrade via sp flash tool.
But i used firm. Upgrade too but worked fine.

Not on all devices. It is common that messing with the system partition can cause IMEI corruption. Chained in dual sim devices. This is due to the fact that android doesn't fully support dual Sims so each oem does it differently.
But it will be same for same models.
If i am successful he should also be successful on same phone model.
But he may be trying differently. Not exactly how i wrote.

Rooting w/ Kingroot (if it works) is only temproot, as soon as you reboot the phone root is gone. So this tute doesn't really give you the whole process to achieve perm root on your G3.

You have to download the latest version of Kingroot. I think it's 4.9.something. The links on some of the pages are to earlier versions that didn't work for me either. Search for the latest Kingroot version. I don't think it was on the main website.
To be honest I don;'t like Kingroot at all.
It installs it's self as a system app and puts this purify program on (and btw it's a temp root on the LG G3, if you restart , you have to do it again). And it seems to have issues with SuperUser once you flash the ROM. Some appz would get root access and others wouldn't. It was quite annoying. I am waiting for a Stock.zip of MM to come out before I go back to it. For now I would stick to LP 30E Bloatware free. Very easy to root.
And if anyone that is reading this knows how to get MM to stop asking you if you want to wipe your ass for every little thing tell me how to disable it. Every time I connect it to my PC, it's like "are you sure you want to allow USB connection?". No I slipped and it plugged in all by it's self! Even when doing some of the most basic stuff, it asks 'Allow' or 'Deny'? Extremely annoying. The only thing that is a plus is the Bluetooth function. It doesn't ask you to enter the '0000' or '11111' code when connecting different devices like it does on LP, KK, JB, and ICS.
Edit: The Kingroot version that worked for me was NewKingrootV4.9.6_C151_B329_en_release_2016_09_30.apk. I think the one on the Kingroot website is older and named "NewKingrootV4.9.6_C151_B309_en_release_2016_08_18_105203.apk". Just do a search for the former and it should work to temp Root MM. Remember, if you restart the phone the Root will go away.
Once you temp root it, download TWRP's latest version, twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img or what ever and put it in the phones main directory. Then download the terminal emulator that has the green android fella on it from the play store and type these commands in:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery
(Just make sure in the line "dd if=/sdcard/twrp-3.0.0-0-d851.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery" you type the name of the TWRP img you put in the phone.
lg g3 d851 30g not root kingroot.apk
hy guys
plse help me lg g3 d851-30g devices unrooted.
Kingroot 4.1 can root Kitkat/LP but not Marshallow. I tried Kingroot 5.2 on MM did not work either so I end up downgrade to KK/LP and root it. Then can flash custom roms. For MM I seen method on other forum just a bit complicated to do it.

Try this method from PonchosoftX and if it's unclear, then I'm sure that he would be glad to help. Perhaps if you're successful, then post any tips or tricks in this thread.
I don't want to unlock the bootloader. All I want is root to run AdAway.
Would you recommend one-click root tools such as KingRoot or KingoRoot? Are they safe? Has anyone tested them? Thanks.
Also wondering if I will be able to install OTAs if i root with those tools.
I know alot of noobie samsung users use that stuff, but its thirdparty warez made from ppl in china and what not, theres been issues a few times when developers found out what happens when you use apps or programs like that, some discovered suspicious apps being installed and hidden during the process some also found data being collected from the phone and sent to server data storages and sold to companies, i wouldnt recomend using apps like that.
