is there any way to better organize the sd card? android was set up to simply dump all app data to the sd card. sometimes apps allow you to set the directory used for saving data, but the vast majority do not. i was wondering if there was a way to dump all app data into a single folder, and have all future app data saves default to that folder. this way i could have something like this:
music
videos
images
backups
app data
as my directory structure. perhaps partitioning the card would allow something like this effectively? that's not the ideal solution for obvious reasons, but i really dislike how everything is thrown together which makes it hard for me to find what i'm looking for. anyone look into this before?
I'm no developer but because some apps write their own directory by default i think it would be difficult. I think all the apps you use would need to be modified. Although some allow you to choose, most dont
Thats actually a great idea, were working on something like that now, so far is only able to clean temp Files from left behind but the next step is file organization and removing duplicate floders
Just Incredible
I don't know the Smartphone terms, so I'll just use PC terms.
in my Programs list (or maybe on a Smartphone it's actually "App Drawer"...I'm not sure), I've categorized a lot of my apps into folders. After awhile, and I'm assuming after an update, specifically, my apps seem to remove themselves from within folders I've created, but if that does happen, I then see them in the "root" (or just listed in the Programs list, and not in any folder).
I'm pretty sure that this was an issue on my previous phone (Droid Razr Maxx).
Is there a way to ensure that apps grouped into folders, "stick" ?
I don't know if the same behavior exists when copying the folders onto any one of my Desktop screens. Either way. it's annoying, because I keep having to re-group my apps. Any help on this issue?
I don't think other Launchers have this problem.
Was testing the Secure folder to see how useful it is before all that "recall" and all happen and since I probably wont root this device..... yet
I tested 3 application so far which are:
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
MangaZone
Only MangaZone showed up in the app list in secure folder. Is there a reason that Excel and Word did not show up? I was using the "move app from phone" and have not set up the play store inside secure folder yet.
... using google didnt give my no information... >.>
I am trying to see all the folders when I plug into the computer. I am only getting a select few, many of the app folders are missing. Looking for whatsapp folder in particular. I have not used the phone yet. Bought it off Ebay it is a Verizon model(using on t-mobile). I have attached a screenshot of the folders that are showing up currently, this is very different then my current phone(Moto X pure)

That's typical unless you're rooted and using a file manager that supports root. Go to Android, data and you'll see a little bit more.
Edit, if it's a Verizon device you want be able to root.
Okay, so I need the google version of the phone ? I don't believe I rooted the moto x pure I have, does it come that way ?

I'm not sure how the Moto comes. But on the PC you'll never see more than what your see in that screen shot with the pixel. You will be able to see more on your device if rooted and using a file manager like root explorer. What are you trying to see?
I'm trying to see WhatsApp folder and photos app folder. Want to move all my WhatsApp content to new phone and I want to keep my folders for pics. I moved the pics in albums to dcim folder but when I open photos app they are all lumped together

Do you use Google to backup your Moto? You should be able to restore your apps and data from there when setting up a new device.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I do not backup to google. Only thing that is is contacts. New device is more or less setup except for those 2 items.
How would I go about making a folder/album for photos while connected to the computer so that I do not have to do it on the phone.
Hello.
So this is my first samsung phone, and I usually use Xiaomi. In Xiaomi dual apps is already a basic function, it works on almost every apps and really simple to use. Now in samsung I can't seem to find how to do dual apps. There's just dual messenger so it's only for whatsapp and facebook.
Is there a way for me to have dual apps on samsung? Do I have to install dual/clone apps from play store, if yes please recomend me which one to use.
Thank you!
Take a look at Secure Folder, it should be available on your phone already (you might need to enable it in Settings).
Secure Folder - Samsung
Yes, it has Dual Messenger as a part of One UI.
Check Settings/Advanced/Dual Messenger
