Was testing the Secure folder to see how useful it is before all that "recall" and all happen and since I probably wont root this device..... yet
I tested 3 application so far which are:
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
MangaZone
Only MangaZone showed up in the app list in secure folder. Is there a reason that Excel and Word did not show up? I was using the "move app from phone" and have not set up the play store inside secure folder yet.
... using google didnt give my no information... >.>

Hi,
I remember from owning an IPhone having to synchronise my ewallet (a password manager) files over the air from the desktop whilst the app was running on the phone. (I'll admit it was a minor annoyance).
Having moved to android and using a combination of dropbox and keepass, I don't really think about anymore - I just open dropbox and click the file and keepass opens up.
But, what about WP7? I realise that apps are only permitted to use their own storage. If I were to build a say, a keepass app for WP7, would I be back to building some desktop client software that allow syncing over the air whilst the app was running (like IPhone/ewallet), or hooking into any number of online sync services like Dropbox, Box.net, Pogoplug, etc, just to get the file some place the app can reach it.
I'm having trouble thinking of any other option given the lack of any common storage.
Thanks
If you did develop Keepass for WP7, you'd have your first customer here!
I'm actually tempted to try and port it myself, and I've come to the same conclusion as you regarding storage. The local KDB file would need to held in private storage and synchronised to an off-device copy, be that a desktop app or something like drop box.
A keepass app is one of the things I was considering. Not so sure about it now.
I'll have a look round for an elegant solution.
Well, isn't Skydrive the same as Dropbox? As I understood WP7 uses Skydrive to store your files 'in the cloud'; so why not put your Keepass file there?

I'd not considered skydrive/mesh. I'll 'ave a look.
Thanks for the heads-up.
I'm thinking of writing a desktop synching app myself. That way any WP7 app could connect to it to import files from a PC.
I've thought about using skydrive myself, but it doesn't seem to offer a way to download the file directly.
I don't know the Smartphone terms, so I'll just use PC terms.
in my Programs list (or maybe on a Smartphone it's actually "App Drawer"...I'm not sure), I've categorized a lot of my apps into folders. After awhile, and I'm assuming after an update, specifically, my apps seem to remove themselves from within folders I've created, but if that does happen, I then see them in the "root" (or just listed in the Programs list, and not in any folder).
I'm pretty sure that this was an issue on my previous phone (Droid Razr Maxx).
Is there a way to ensure that apps grouped into folders, "stick" ?
I don't know if the same behavior exists when copying the folders onto any one of my Desktop screens. Either way. it's annoying, because I keep having to re-group my apps. Any help on this issue?
I don't think other Launchers have this problem.
Rookie warning!
Hi all - Was a follower years ago then took a stop in the iUniverse, jumped out of it to a Note 3 which I didn't root and now a Verizon G4 which is rooted with Xposed (very nice work there). I've searched literally days for an existing solution to this problem but haven't found anything.
I'm a generally competent user of tech but really don't know what I'm doing beyond user level. That said, the root and Xposed installations were straightforward. The first thing I did once rooted was find a couple "low risk debloat" posts with long followings and froze a bunch of services and apps. General phone functioning was only for the better, though I'm having a couple lower level issues.
My camera functions properly, but the Gallery widget bottom right goes nowhere. Opening the Gallery app, I get the message "No files" though there are photos in the device and sd card DCIM/Camera folders in ES File Explorer. My gmail/drive/google photos apps on the phone and pc do talk to each other somewhat - older photos cross-pollinate but none of the new stuff.
I have thawed everything I froze and reset app preferences to default.
In google photos, I go 'add folder' to show it where to look and no folders appear on the file system, none. The PC doesn't see new pix. I can open photos in ES File Ex to the Gallery individually but can't swipe to the next photo and if I go back to the Gallery app directly same message "No files".
Some permission somewhere seems to be tripped but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. I've loaded QuickPic and CAN find the folders I need on there - they do work initially but if I power the phone down then back on the folders are again missing. I should note that at one point I cleared data and cache from the "Media Storage" app. It shows 0 kb data, I can't see how to re-enable or point apps to engage.
Please help! (and thanks in advance)

had same issue couple weeks ago, was freaking out. found solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469435
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13419
Sadly neither worked. The detailed finder found the pic once then lost them. Tried again and never loaded them. I tried renaming Camera folder too and copying the folder other media spots - nada
I tried a screenshot - bounced. Couldn't save file

I took a log while attempting a screenshot (failed). There is a recurring error in there but I honestly don't know how to read these. Don't see how to attach file here and log is long. Here is recurring error:

You need to delete .nomedia file

Searched for .nomedia, none found. When I log screenshot attempt here's the error chain that always follows:

Hi I need a little help if possible, I'm trying to find an app that will let me automove files and folders, I've found an app called "auto-move" that will move my files for me automatically but it doesn't move folders at all. So I need an app that can move folders to another location by the file(folder)name. I found the app called "tasker" and it seems like it might be able to do what I want but not sure as it's a bit of a headache for me to use, so is anyone experienced enough with "tasker" to help me?
Please keep in mind I have looked through a lot of guides but they all involve moving files and not folders.
I basically want to monitor a folder, and if that folder has other folders In it, it will move them to a certain location depending on folder name.
you can use other apps for this purpose, sync type apps like Synchronize Ultimate can sync folders and files to local and cloud network, create sync profiles but also has option to "delete from source after sync" and has plugin for tasker. So you may want to check those kind of apps.
I also found tasker difficult to handle and gave Automate a try, no complaints.

Thank you for the quick reply, yeah I figured it out now, I scrapped using tasker. I'm using auto-move to move the files to destination folder and using redirect pro to move files out of folders to the parent directory so auto-move can do its thing. I'm gonna check your suggestion as I'd prefer one app to do the job and by the sounds of it your will do the job
Hi
I may have been missing something but I don't find how to control privacy, per app. Note 10+ does not have an option to configurate openning an app only with a pin/fingerprint/face recognition?
Thanks in advance
P. S. App Lock, not block! Sorry
No there is not a per app lock, however secure folder does it, when you activate secure folder, you can choose which apps you want to secure, that is, you will then have 2 versions of the apps, one open and the other inside secure folder which is only accesible by the security method you choose

many thanks, now I understand the purpose of secure folder (although I reached that folder once but could not get into it ever again LOL). I will give ir a try if I can reach it again
The thing to realize about Secure Folder, though, is that it runs a separate network stack. So if you're running a local VPN-based systemwide ad blocker like AdGuard or Blokada on your phone, then you'll need to run another instance of it inside Secure Folder. Otherwise, apps in Secure Folder will bypass the ad blocker running outside it.
