Hi
Currently on stock android 8.0.0 zui 4.0.199 st
When I trying to create/fill up contact (stock contact app, all apps stock, calendar too)with birthday date ( clicking in that space to write date) contact are close and I'm back to desktop.
If anyone here about that, what is going on... Everything seems to be OK just that one stupid thing. I had already try back to factory reset, clean cache and data. Any idea's?
Maybe there is a update or new release which can fix it?
Thanks
the reason is a language. On chinese language seems to be alright. I wonder if they fix that.
there is also problem with lenovo cloud service. Can't sync. I wonder its becouse of missing phone number (dont have chines number...). Anyone have/had similar problems?

As the title says, I installed a patch to enable Chinese language. When I selected "Chinese" in the language setting, a dialog poped up complaining "andriod.process.acore" crashed.
I have tried installing "more locale 2" and same issue happened.
Could anybody help me?
try to install penpower.

Don't understand. What's is "penpower"? Why do I need to install that?
Could you explain?
I properly found the root cause of this issue. It may cause by the content of my contact. There maybe have some invalid characters in my contact and once I enabled the Chinese language, the system crashed. Once I switched back to English, everything went well.
My solution is to delete all my contacts before enabling the Chinese language. Now the system is ok. But another problem came. I can't sync my contact anymore. Everytime I clicked the sync button, the phone did synced but nothing happened. No contact is synced to my phone. What's wrong? Maybe cos I deleted all contacts on phone and the system still though all contacts were already synced. Can I force to dump all my contact to phone?

did you manually delete the contacts by long pressing and selecting delete? if you did, it deletes them from google too..... you should just clear data in contacts storage..... also why not just use an asian rom that uses chinese by default? maybe that will solve some of your problems

Firstly, yes, I did exactly as what you described.
Secondly, yes, I should flash with a asian rom then everything would go away. Actually I used a latest stocked rom and did not check if it's for asia pacific or not. Now I don't want to re-flash asia rom since I have already installed a lot of apps.

you could do a nandroid backup in recovery, flash an asian rom, then use the advance restore feature to restore your data and ext partition, giving you all your apps and data back and if it dosent work you can always restore the whole nandroid and get your old rom back as it was. either way you can find a custom asian rom with apps2sd ect here

and for future reference, to delete contacts without removing them from your google account, go to settings>applications>manage applications, find contacts storage and click delete data
So last night my wife asked if FriendStream on my phone had any tweets in it. It did but hers had not updated for over a day. I opened Peep and hit refresh and waited for it to update did this a few times and the latest it would get was still over 24 hours old.
Having seem similar problems before I cleared the cache of FriendStream its widget and Peep, Still wouldn't update so I cleared their data and that's where it went wrong.
Opened Peep and it had to the login boxes greyed out and a button saying logout, so I did and then tried to login I get Unable to sign in.
"You entered an incorrect username or password".
I have tried rebooting a few times and adding the account back in Accounts and Sync same problem, tried my account same problem, tried my wife's account on my phone and it logs in fine.
I have tried checking/unchecking SSL makes no difference, I know this happened a while back when Twitter changed there login API but it seems I broke something clearing Peeps data without removing the account in accounts and sync or it was broken already and that's why it would update and I brought the login problem to the surface.
If this was a normal app I would try and reinstall it but now I don't know what to do.
1) Can someone with a stock ROM confirm Peep is working and updating. My Desire has LeeDroid with a slightly newer Peep.
2) I have extracted htctwitter.apk from the Modaco ROM can you install this and have it overwrite the installed Peep on a stock un-rooted phone?
3) Any suggestions apart from do a factory reset? and if a factory reset is done any educated guesses if it will help?
4) Does a factory reset mean you have to OTA again or is the OTA written into the image when its applied?
Thanks for any help, seems I broke the wifes most used feature of the phone Not a good idea on my part.
Snowdan.
Turns out Peep version 1.00.0061.26XXXX that ships with stock T-Mobile phones no longer works with twitter, T-Mobile are aware and talking to HTC about an OTA to fix this.
Snowdan.
Today I tred to add a contact to my phone. Each time I would tap the plus button to add the contact it would error and FC the phone application. I decided to do a factory reset real quick, opened the phone and added my friend's contact info before I had restored my Titanium backup. It worked fine.
Once I restored the backup of the phone, I went into the phone application and tried adding a contact again and it was again FCing. What I need to know is what file that has to do with my contacts I need to not reinstall? A phone isn't a phone if you can't add new contacts.
T-Mobile SGS2 running BeastMOD V1.
Just in case anyone else has this problem, it was the ICS Google+ application causing the problem. One I uninstalled it I was able to add contacts again. Sorry to waste a thread.
you can install the proper version from Android Market, that one works fine
only the ICS version causes that bug
i encountered it too myself on my old phone
Hi guys,
I accidentally deleted my 'calendar' files in an attempt to clean my phone to increase the speed. That has resulted in complete dysfunction of calendar functionality. When I use and/or reinstall google calendar app, it simply will not recognize my google account. In accounts, google sync is giving me a 'red' sync error. But other syncs seem to be working fine (contacts, mail, photos, etc.).
I'm guessing this can't be fixed now?
Should I consider putting on a new rom? My phone is already rooted. I've done this a few times before. Is there an appropriate rom? I absolutely need to use the t mobile's WIFI CALLING functionality. It comes in handy when i'm outside the country and have to call home over the internet.
Any suggestions or advice?
Thanks
Have you made nandriod/backup, if yes then restore from recovery. If no then you try factory reset/wipe data. If still problem not solved then flash the stock ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949687 as you need WiFi calling which I think will only be available with stock ROM.
I prefer nandriod every week and deleted the old one. It takes only 5 to 10 minutes
I have an LG G3 that I just flashed back to stock after being rooted, updating and then flashing back to stock. I have an issue where the Misc files after the 10C flash are about 7GB, 6 of that system files but they are only visible in the phone storage area not the LP PC suite. Is this normal or is this a problem/abnormal?
Another issue I have is with the Kitkat update itself(and possible solution). I keep getting the android.process.acore error when I link certain accounts, after 7 factory resets I was getting quite tired so I decided to take matters into my own hands and created another Gmail account to use, one with no contacts linked to it(used mycontactsbackup app to back my contacts up and emailed them to myself). I then proceeded to add all my accounts after unchecking the sync contacts then imported my contacts and did not receive the error even with a Facebook account synced(the biggest offender I hear). I do not know if I got **** lucky or this actually worked but can anyone else tell me if there is an easier workaround for this issue?
Flash any 10m or 10r ROM. 10c was buggy as hell for me
