Guess I'll do it like this.

Seems fine, ty for the kernel from feheroroszorszag

Wew

Eyyyyy
Guess I'll take a reserve too
Edit: Time to use the reserve for a 1st page day 1 review
The kernel is working really well, with everything on stock because of no kernel tweaking.
The biggest improvement is probably standby batterylife and heat, for some reason other 4.4 kernels are really bad at this, resulting in around 20% battery loss overnight
The bad news is that USB tethering is still not working for me on all 4.4 kernels, including this one, so there's that

hello @Star_king12, my device has a rare problem where most of the time when I try to scroll it registers a touch and while playing PUBG the trackpad stutters.
Only your F1XY CAF rev5 kernel fixed it for me and whichever rom I switch your kernel is the only solution.
Now with 4.4 kernel trend, I thought I could use F1XY4.4 for the hiccups but it missed out on the charm which the "3.18 caf rev5" had. So kindly implement the previous fix in your 4.4 edition too.
Need any testing or logcats, ready to cooperate.

I wish I knew what fixed it in that kernel. I'm aware of that issue and we are working with other devs to fix it, however since none of us have a device with such touchscreen, so it's way harder.

I already have 3-4 testers but there isn't much progress.

Installed Kernel on aex 6.0. At the moment everything is going great and solved the problem of charging. At the moment the performance is good without any problem. Later I will try if it is possible to connect the zuk to the computer. Thank you very much for your work.

With Aex 6.0 new version, There was a problem during charging, you had to have the screen turned on to charge the battery. Installing this Kernel has solved the problem.

gpl | abyss kernel 1.20 | cm-14.x

Hi oneplus2 people!
This is my modified kernel with some kernel optimizations and some compiler optimizations.
The goal of abyss is to achieve improved performance/battery without the cost of stability.
I will not be overhauling this project with changes that are not logical to add.
This kernel should work on the latest 7.x.x roms like CyanogenMod.
It might work on other roms, but there will be little support for them.
How does one achieve this?
- build kernel with an optimized toolchain
- use compiler optimization flags (experimental)
- remove redundant code
- improve existing code with more efficient code
- etc. (most are not so easy to explain)
This kernel is built with mdalexca's latest UBER GCC 4.9.
Is there actually a performance improvement?
With all the changes added up, there should be. Whether or not one notices the difference is another thing.
For those interested in how the kernel optimizations will benefit/work, please look at my github source and read the commit messages.
For those interested in how the compiler optimizations/hacks will benefit/work, please look at this article.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is this a custom kernel?
I was asked this question once, and it posed as a real good question. I do not consider abyss to be a "custom kernel" per se, but more so as a modified kernel. The patches and features that go into this kernel do not make it customizable. What they do is improve what has already been implemented. It is like swapping a car's engine for a better one rather than just adding LED flooring lights and fancy car mats.
Can you add [this] and [that] feature?
Something I pride myself with this kernel is that it does not have a bunch of random, useless features or patches mashed into it. Everything put into this kernel is thought out and tested. I see a lot of works being made popular because it has [this] and [that] feature when really, it's nothing revolutionary. As a matter of fact, most things added to any kernel will not make it 5x better than any other kernel. Most of the time, simple is better; and in this case it definitely is!
For me
Thanks! I'll give it a go.
Giving it a go

Works on a f2fs filesystem based rom. Testing it now...
Edit: No obvious bugs at the moment. Is it possible to implement some sort of charging control. The USB charging speed is super slow (on both this kernel and stock CM kernel).

I trust the engineers that designed the chip to choose a safe maximum clock speed. Here's a pretty good article on the risks vs benefits, which outline some strong points.
But, if I were to add it, I would set the max value at boot to stay as stock values; so I'll leave it up to @dsst22 to decide.
I'll try this out for you dude. Impressive what you've done.

[Kernel][EAS][OOS-N] Helix Kernel

Helix Kernel for the OnePlus 5!
For OOS-N

Code:
Disclaimer: Despite everything being tested before release, anything can go wrong, and the one held responsible shall be you and you only. Don't come crying that your phone ate your cat after flashing my kernel, because, needless to say, I will just be blown away laughing at you.
Objective:
To provide a more battery-oriented kernel based on the rock solid EAS-based RenderZenith kernel, by my fellow developers and mentors @RenderBroken and @joshuous and, as well as anyone else on XDA probably, to learn and encourage others to learn more about EAS - the latest endeavour from Google, Linaro, ARM and many others to improve both the efficiency and performance of Android powered devices.
Features:
-> Based on the wonderful RenderZenith kernel
-> Up-to-date with latest EAS changes, as long as they are stable enough (currently at EAS r1.4)
-> Built with Linaro 6.3.1
-> Added support for a new experimental governor pwrutilx, in an attempt to improve battery life
-> Added support for Wake Gestures, Sound Control, KCAL Control and LED Control
-> Merged as much as possible from Google's latest Pixel devices
Installation:
1- Download latest build from the download link below
2- Reboot into recovery mode
3- Backup existing /system and /boot partitions
4- If stock OOS kernel is not installed, reflash OOS with no wipes
5- Flash latest zip file
6- Reboot
7- Profit!

Awesome.. Currently using renderzenith. Gonna try this now
Nice to see your work finally here mate
so tempted to try...
Currently on latest stock OOS w/o any type of root, encrypted, runs smoothly, but have that "Unable to turn on Wifi" bug.
Tried flashing the no-verity zip which usually fixed up that bug for me, got stuck at the boot logo, then I tried an older no-verity zip and got stuck at the boot animation.
Flashed OOS (wiped dalvik & cache, and system) booted up fine and already connected to wifi, rebooted back to recovery(blu_spark v49), flashed the kernel, and booted up and found wifi off already.
Is there anything I can try to fix this?
Which one will give more battery optimisation - renderzenith or helix kernel - with AKT??

It will be more or less the same . Because when the script is applied it will change the governor and the values so result should be the same .

Right not using render Zenith.
This is awesome, finally we've got both your kernel and AKT for the cheeseburger and I know there is lot more to come. All the best buddy, I look forward to the development.
@Mostafa Wael glad to see you taking your first step in kernel development! Looking forward for more

That's a very weird issue. I have tested the kernel on stock official OOS 4.5.14 and I don't have any issues with the WiFi... I use Magisk 14.0 stable, encrypted as well. The only thing that is different is the recovery but I don't see why would flashing the kernel using a different recovery would break WiFi. Nevertheless I will have a closer look asap. Thanks for your report!

AKT is compatible with RenderZenith and Helix kernel, as long as you use schedutil as the CPU governor [for both clusters]. However, if you chose to install Helix Kernel and use pwrutilx as the CPU governor, AKT won't be compatible.
P.S. pwrutilx is already battery oriented
Would anybody like to share the results ?

1. Merged 4.9.142. This patchset has a massive merge on the xpad controller drivers so should help you get better compatibility with ya'll weird ass 3rd party controllers to play your minecrafts and barbie games
2. Flings and swipes on Novatek touch panels should be a tad smoother
3. ZRAM has been re-enabled. I disabled it on r2 due to an issue but it has been resolved
4. Merged a patch that should slightly improve battery life
5. Merged a patch that should slightly improve performance by better placing top-app tasks on big cluster cpus
6. Merged a couple patches from the Pixel 3 Kernel tree to fix some memory leaks and some other minor code issues
7. Merged a couple patches from CAF to hopefully get rid of the uart wakeup. Unfortunately the issue isn't caused by me, so I have little to no control over it. Some of the patches might fix it though

Running great so far. I had one instance of the phone lagging for a couple seconds, but that hasn't occurred again. Great work!
Added to the OnePlus 5 Index Thread here.
Does this kernel give better battery life then stock

At the moment I have not planned that.
First of all, thanks for your work on this (still) awesome phone.
I'd like to try your kernel but I can't live without kcal control (night mode isn't enough for me), so I was wondering if it may be added one day or if there's no chance .
Not really asking to add it, but that's just to know if I should not waste my time, I hope you understand it in the correct way.
Have a nice day [emoji1360]

I had kcal in a test build and the driver seemed to be broken.
But I can check this again.
Hello dev..
Thank you for the good work for me it works very fine.
I have a question plz.
why is it not possible to permanently turn off processors? The other thing the Boeffla kernel has is the ability to amplify the speakers louder, for example, to listen to music. your kernel does not have that rights.

Hotplugging is a very bad idea on newer SoCs, such as our SD835, thus you shouldn't turn off any core anyways, that's why, there is no option for this.

haven't tested it myself, but yeah I have seen people use it on stock ROM
I am having idle battery drain issue (~20% drain overnight) on Stock ROM so, I tried this kernel with 060 firmware. The kernel is working perfectly (at least to the extent I used it) but it didn't solve idle battery drain. I am trying to find solution since 2 months. I also tried couple of ROMs and other Kernels and all the old firmware but none of them worked, no matter what I do, the problem is intact. So, now the only solution that I can think of currently is, completely restore my Phone and then go to Service Center.
Again, thanks for this awesome kernel. This is the only kernel that is being updated when most of the development for this device is already dead.
How to install this kernel
I am new in installing kernel but i have installed roms before

Do onething, remove fingerprint authentication and use the device like you usually do. The idle drain should reduce. Also if you can, track wakelocks using BetterBatteryStats. That would help recognize what drains the battery.

Just flash the provided zip file using twrp recovery, reboot. That's it.

Thanks for reply.
Well, I'm not using Fingerprint authentication since Pie update. So, Something else is causing the issue. In fact, this issue started suddenly in (i guess) mid November. I have also tested idle drain on MSM Xtended, crDroid, Ion OS etc ROMs and Kernels namely Stardust, Singh, PBH and Droopy but the issue is same across. I have also tried Official Android 10 beta but the results are same. I also downgraded to Oreo 340 update but didn't helped. I also tried every Official Pie update till date.
You can take a look my Post #2 on Asus forum for BetterBatteryStats:

I'll give it in 1 day. I have reverted completely to Stock and Upgraded to Android 10 Official beta. I'll need to give permission to BBS via adb and then wait for 1 day to collect stats.

Here are the Screenshots of BBS on fresh installed Android 10 Official Beta - no Google Account added, no Third-party apps installed, No Sim/MMC inserted, WiFi ON all the time.

Seems like your battery has degraded. get it checked at a service center. Good luck!
So far, so good, Running on StockMod Rom (.60 version)
Double Tap to Wake is not working though, I hope this will be fix on next update
