Modified Rom or delete applications S9650 - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hi. I would like to know if there is any modified rom apart from that of travis for the S-9650. How to be Lineage
, Resurection or the others known.
Or in its defect a list with the applications that can be eliminated once the phone is rooted. Thank you.

Xposed

Hey Guys,
Thank you for any help you may provide in advance, and please know I did a proper search before posting this.
I am currently using Malaysk firmware (April release) and have I am very happy with such a dev.
However there is one thing I would like to do; I would like to completely remove the Xposed framework and any trace remaining of it. (I already uninstalled the framework using the app)
This is due to the fact that the current app of my tv provider gets blocked when it discovers this and I would love to have this functionality back.
Could someone point me in the right direction on this topic?
Thx Again,
Gtrz Ecniv
Did it work before on an older version of Malaysk ROM? There are xposed apps that can prevent apps from seeing a modified system like Root Cloak there was one that you could type in specific modifications not sure the name though. Does a rooted device have a conflict with your app? there are apps that disable certain features or all if root is detected. I'm not sure where Xposed is located on the storage but a simple search in ES File Explorer might find it for you.
Hey bsavoir22,
Thx for the input, to be honest I can`t remember if I ever had it working on a Malaysk ROM however I do know what you are talking about; The Irdetto fix. Unfortunately I have tried and tested that and it won`t work I did have it running on a rooted previous firmware though (Non-Malaysk, rooted Stock GS firmware) in combination with root cloak that`s why I`m suspecting the Xposed framework.
That`s why I am interested in trying to remove the framework entirely as I love the ROMs made by Malaysk really would like all functionality back that I had on my old firmware.:good:

Firmware upgrading advice please

I still get lots of use out of my SM-P600, but I'm hitting a bit of a problem with free space.
I use OneNote combined with the S-pen as my note-taking combo of choice and I have extensive notes. OneNote doesn't have the ability to save notebooks to the external SD card and I work offline a lot, so can't readily open/close notebooks from the cloud. The point is, I'm now struggling a bit for free space on the device.
My newest phone (Android 6.0.1) has the ability to 'integrate' external sd memory into the main device memory.
Is that a firmware feature, or is it hardware?
Would upgrading my P600's firmware give me this functionality and let me have a lot more space to play with?
If so, what ROM upgrade should I use?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, but a pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.
John
If you are interested in rooting and installing Xposed framework, there is an Xposed module called XInternalSd that you can use.
That said, if you aren't familiar with the risks of root, xposed, flashing, etc, be sure to read up on it all a bit first.
Xda module thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-disablesignaturecheck-t2789267
Xposed module page: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.xinternalsd
Good luck, and I hope this helps!
G'day John
Both Marshmallow & Nougat have the ability to integrate the sd as internal memory but you may need to install a custom ROM to achieve this. This will most likely involve you losing data. I'm a novice myself but so I am happy to lose data and reformat and start fresh, but there may be utilities to back up such things.
i recently installed Lineage OS myself but a host of issues so I then went the AOSP build and I am really happy with that, if you want to know how to do that I am happy to help.
Thanks kypreo,
I wasn't sure if it was a default feature or custom to certain suppliers, so that's good to know.
Also good to hear that some builds have issues and are, perhaps, to be avoided.
I've had a bit of a clear-out of some less-used apps, so the pressure's off a little. But I may well go down the AOSP route you suggest.

I went down that route and so far so good, sometimes its just dumb luck. To alleviate some file issues use an app called cc cleaner to ease off some system files to give you some breathing room. You can also move off app data on apps onto the SD card as well. just be aware once the apps update they go back to the internal storage sometimes so you will need to move them again.
Another reason as to why I went to a custom ROM.

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread. I have the 3g variant and have tried both Lineage 13 as well as 14.1 and experience random reboots, crashes and hanging. I am back to stock Touchwiz Lollipop 5.1.1 as of now but would be happy to try out AOSP rom. Can you please provide me with the link to download the rom?

If you are back with stock firmware you are already with an AOSP rom...

Hi mate
Sorry for the delay, please see links below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...om-android-source-project-19-11-2016-t3503423 (rom gapps)
https://gapps4android.wordpress.com/2016/03/20/gapps-package-comparison-which-to-choose/ ( a guide to select which gapps to use)
Be aware you need to root the original rom and install TWRP 3.0.0 aqnd above. Install the AOSP rom but do not reboot, install Gapps because if you reboot you lose TWRP and won't be able to install Gapps. I had to go to the original and do it from scratch.

replace system ui of stock rom with custom rom ui.

Hi,
This is a question as well as a suggestion
We p2 users have been bugged with issues or missing features in all custom roms which are not present in stock firmware.
Now my question/suggestion is can we not take the stock firmware with all features enabled and remove all unnecessary apps then replace the entire stock ui with that of custom ROM like resurrection remix or xenon hd or what ever we want?!
Id you find a workaround let us know. I don't have any idea if we can

Even I am wondering about the same thing
I think I can swap the framework.apk and related files and then may need to edit some of the dependencies to apply the changes. Of course this has to be done in the ROM zip file.
Uh I don't see the point actually you're basically referring to a deodexed, debloated ROM with a nova launcher.
Sorry if I got your question wrong. This is what I was able to make up from it.

You are partially correct. But the problem lies in customisation. You see, I am a big fan of extreme customisation. I want to customise the rom entirely. For that, we need either a completely integrated theme engine like miuu or substratum. As you might know, substratum has issues in stock vibe hi.
And xposed is not working for n. Now you tell me what else to do for this.!!!

[Lineage OS 14.1] [Bacon] Rebooting Issues

THIS IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM, DO NOT POST REGARDING ANYTHING HARDWARE RELATED!
My phone is perfect in condition and has no hardware defects. This only happens on certain ROMs, mainly Lineage OS, I didn't have this happen while I was on AOSPA 7.2.3 and it started as soon as I switched back to Lineage OS. If you post about this being a hardware problem I will laugh at that and not reply.
I've had this going on since Lineage OS began.
I go to turn my phone off, and it instantly starts rebooting.
When I click on the keyboard options in settings it instantly reboots.
I have magisk, busybox installed, using substratum themes, hebf optimizer & adaway. If any of these could cause this please let me know why and how.
These same things happen also on my Shield K1, also running Lineage OS 14.1 with the list of things above on it too.
Thanks.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within one of the following Official LineageOS threads for your device.

I started getting this last week (I think it's the same as the OP). Reboots randomly for any reason at any time in any app. I've had LineageOS 14.1 Osprey running for almost 2 years and on 2 different Sony Xperia Z2's. The problem does not present in safe mode, so for sure it's some kind of [new] incompatibility. No new software that would indicate the source of the issue. And it still does it even if I stop all but the most essential processes. I'm actually here on XDA because I intend to just wipe the device and start clean (doing a backup as I type). But then I saw this post. I'll do some more searching, but if anyone knows wtf, please shout out!
I'm facing the exactly same issue with my Lenovo Vibe K6 w Lineage 14.1.
My phone soft resets everytime I try to open de restar menu or try to change the keyboard.
Anyone got a solution to this bug?

Looking for stock, debloated, deodexed, microG-backed MIUI rom

So I came back to the forum after 6 months and was pleasantly surprised by the number of custom roms available now. From the few (currently trending) threads I checked out, I see that either there are still some kind of bugs are still lingering or the dev abandoned the project or the thread was closed or ... I think you get the point. For this reason, I'd rather stick with the official stock rom but I never quite liked the bloatware (both mi and google) and google tracking. To maximise performance and battery life, I wish to clean my rom of all of these stuff or, if possible, install a pre-configured one.
I have some questions though:-
1. Best way to debloat?
Yes, I have tried adb uninstall command when I first got the phone but for some reason, that didn't work. I saw a recent guide on the forum for this purpose that I could try later.
2. Any experience with microG on MIUI?
I don't know if it's possible/working on MIUI roms since this is my first Xiaomi device.
3. Recommended custom ROM?
I may have missed out on all the good stuff during my absence. If you could recommend a rom you find the most stable and clean, even if it is AOSP, it would save me a lot of time.
Look, you are probably going to tell me that I could have done a bit more search on my own before posting here. The thing is, I have returned to the whole modding stuff after 4 years so lest I might break/mess up things, I deemed it more reasonable to ask here.
Hope someone sees this. Thank you.
You're looking for the exact same thing I did.
For me the solution was lineageos with microg, magisk, fdroid store + aurora store.
Lineageos has some minor bugs for me, as well as cameras not working properly.
Reason for most bugs in the most roms is probably that they are based on Android 10,
the devs will probably be able to solve all the bugs as soon as Xiaomi releases miui 12 for this device, which will be based on Android 10.
What you are looking for is probably miui EU rom.
You can easily debloat most of the unwanted sofware with "Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools".
Your problems with ADB probably has to do with SU priviligies.
If I remeber correctly you have to use Xposed framework in order to get microg running on miui, I could be wrong on this!
Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks! I am more inclined to use vanilla Android than MIUI. At least now I know my desired setup is within the realm of possibility. Will surely give LineageOS a try.
