Disconnecting app(Yanosik) from net - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have a problem with one application - it is called Yanosik and it is a kind of navigation with radar warnings, traffic events, etc. ... During operation, the app quits the screen and if there is any traffic incident, it lights up the screen informing about it.
Unfortunately, after the last reinstallation of the system, something broke down and I have such a symptom that when the application turns off the screen, after 5 minutes Yanosik informs me that there is no connection with the server. If I turn on the screen for a few seconds Yanosik to recovers the connection to the server, but when the screen goes off the situation repeats itself. I also checked and Yanosik behaves the same way when there is a WiFi connection.
When I use Yanosik and the screen is on, there is no lack of communication with the server.
Earlier, Yanosik worked without a problem - unfortunately I do not know what effect the system's upgrade from October had.
Maybe there are some system settings somewhere that make Yanosik lose connection.
Thank you for helping me solve the problem

Did you try to disable the battery optimization for your app?
Settings -> Battery menu -> 3 dot menu -> Battery optimization -> click on Not optimized and choose All apps -> search for your app and click it -> choose Don't optimize.
Other thing might be that background data for the app has been disabled.
Settings -> Apps & Notifications menu -> See all xx (number of apps) apps -> search for your app and click it -> Data usage -> check if Background data is activated
(Maybe even activate Unrestricted data usage aswell.)

@thorin0815 all this options were set as You wrote

I'm afraid beside of uninstalling/reinstalling the app I'm out of ideas. Well, you could downgrade to V9.6.4.0 of the firmware if this app is really important for you.

After a hard fight, Yanosik was able to restore it to its correct operation - the culprit was the AdGuardDNS module installed in Magisk.

Good to hear but strange, I never had any connection losses while using AdGuard DNS on my PC.

Mobile Network Traffic despite WLAN connected

Hi,
when my HOX is lying near by PC Speakers, i can hear Internet Traffic over EDGE/UMTS excatly all 3 Minutes. (I hope u can understand what i mean)
I´m wondering about that bescause WIFI is active and connected, and i never had this with my DHD.
Due to optimizing Battery life, i disable mobile Network manually when i´m at home and have WIFI connected.
I use ARHD 9.1.0 with stock Kernel and EQS + APM + %Batterycircle + Autobrighness by jotha.
Baseband: 2.1204.135.20
Build; 2.17.401.2 CL89015
Any Ideas whats generating this traffic and why the HOX don´t use WIFI for that?
its normal gsm traffic. like if somebody sent you an sms, you would hear that sound. not sure why it didn't do it with dhd and now does with hox, but either way, shielded speakers are there to solve that problem. as for adapting your current speakers to shield them, not sure if its possible or not though.

Thanks for your Answer, but i don´t hear that Traffic if mobile Network is disabled, so i thinkt it can´t be "normal GSM Traffic".
oh i see what you mean..
might be network location services?
settings>location>google's location service.
i know the location services use wifi as well, but it might use mobile network in conjuction even if connected to wifi.. try disable that and see if it continues.

Thanks again, tested, but unfortunately the traffic is still there
try download osmonitor, might be other apps more specific that can help, but osmonitor should do the trick i hope.
set your screen not to turn off, just for ease..
goto the connections tab, process tab will also be useful and watch it until the noise happens. you're looking for either a process, that jumps to the top of the list when the sound happens (spike in cpu usage), and then does it every time the sound happens, or a connection, that ISN'T your local or external wifi ip address, but also has similar behaviour, ie the connection is created when the sound occurs, and is then gone a minute later.. (the connection should show an app name)
if you find an app that looks like it could be causing it, then try to uninstall it temporarily to see if it fixes the issue. if it does fix the problem, the next step would be to contact the developer of that app to request a fix for it. it could however be a system process causing the problem.
failing the above, you could try the same sort of diagnostics, but with logcat instead. i don't actually know how to initiate logcat, i'm sure a google will tell you how though.
Thanks again! (i´ll hit the Button )
Okay, got that app installed.
Unfortunately the Sound DOES NOT appear all 3 Minutes when the Display is on.
When it starts and i unlock my screen i cant see any new entries in the Connectionstab.
Processes the same, but "Android System" shortly came on Top. (maybe the Display Unlock is the Reason for that?)
BTW: Why i got 2 permanent open Connections?
1. Google Bookmark-Sync (Whois -> Google)
2. Downloadmanager (Whois -> "The New York Internet Company")
Not idea what that could be.

you should be able to set the display to never turn off in settings>display and gestures
i don't think it'll be very easy if even possible to find it if the screens off (the spike would only be there for a second or 2, by the time it's unlocked etc it will have disappeared)
the other connections, first one is probably the google account sync, and not sure about download manager, maybe something got stuck, you could try clearing data for the download app, but to be honest i doubt that they're any problem anyway so probably nothing to worry about
edit: the download manager bit judging by the whois could be an app relating to that? do you have anything similarly named installed?

This is crazy - when the screen is on, the sound isnt audible. It only happens when the screen is off.
In the Connections Tab is only one Connection without my WiFi-IP, and whois shows me its a DNS Server from my Carrier (vodafone).
In the Process Tab i can see that "System" comes up on Top for ca 2 seconds, further no action.
The 2 Connections which stays established:
Clearing the Donwloadmanager Data was a Success... Thanx again.
The Connection to Google from "Google Bookmark-Sync" is still there. Gmail Sync is deactivated in accounts.
I think i´ll give it up and live with it

Google Play, Youtube > ERROR 495

My HOX stopped working today, i have error 495 after a very long wait time before youtube starts to play video and it does not also google play do not want me to download anything - animations and stuff but no download process.
I figured out that it may be my router settings but why is that my other android device have no problem with google play and youtube ?
other thing is that my phone does work with other wifi network,
looks like someone hacked my router and locked some ports for good some of its settings are broken even after i do factory on it...
i flashed new firmware for my router and now its working - but there was some settings i had to change "default settings" that was visible after routers new firmware and those were very wrong
S o l u t i o n
I have had this issue for a long time now. I just used to decide that I'll wait till i get home and download over WiFi (which worked).
But that's not a solution!!!
On my JellyBean One X:
1. Go to Settings
2. In Wireless and Networks, tap on More
3. Select Usage
4. Tap on Menu in top-right corner and make sure Restrict background data is not ticked
5. Also, uncheck Limit mobile data usage (a message appears saying that all background data restrictions will be disabled).
It is the background data restriction that causes this issue (atleast for me).
I had done the whole shabang:
Clear google play cache, data, etc. re-login with Google account, reboot, etc.

Location Service and Mobile Data Off Messages

Loving the phone so far. However, upon each reboot, it asks me to agree to letting Google track my whereabouts. It says ""Allow Google's location service to collect anonymous location data..." Of course, I have disagreed every time, but it keeps asking. How can I disable that.
Also, I use Llama to turn off mobile data while I am in range of various wireless access points. However, it keeps warning me about that, saying "Your mobile data connection is turned off. Unless you use WiFi, you will not be able to use the internet, email, or other apps...." Is there anyway to disable the pop-up/warning?
And last, how can I replace the weather and time widget on the lock screen, and replace it with something else?
Kindly
Michael
Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I'm experiencing the same thing using Tasker to regulate data on/off.

[Q] Wifi turns on randomly

Greetings,
My T-Mobile Note 3's Wi-Fi turns on randomly several times a day after turning the wifi off. I searched for this issue on the net and the most common solution seems to be with the "connection Optimizer" feature. I could not find this on my note 3 (I suspect that T-Mobile doesn't have this option). I have the most up to date version of Kit Kat (4.4.2; unrooted), that was updated via Kies. This issue started with my most recent firmware update. I am at my wits end in addressing this issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.
It might be an app. For example Viber has a setting to keep WiFi on always.
it's called smart network switch - evil feature!

Thanks for the advice on that. I looked at viber and seen that setting as you mention. I changed it. I wonder how long that has been the case? I just changed it so now I will see if this will have an effect on my issue.
Thanks all for your replies and input.
I just performed a virus scan using Advanced Mobilecare app. The app detected what it labeled as a virus named "Tool/Android.DeviceAlive.a[prv,gen]" in the demo stub app on my Note 3. Under the Mobile Care apps "danger description" is noted the following:
Upload the GPS location to remote server
Forced auto start
The second listing is what concerned me. I am wondering if this is the culprit that is turning on my Wi-Fi? The Mobile Care app can't remove this problem because it states that the app is built in (built in to what?). If this is the source of my problem. is there a way to remove the problem and/or embedded app that is causing the problem?
Follow Up
Greetings,
T-Mobile doesn't seem to have
a "Connection Optimizer" feature in its line of phones. In T-mo's
case the feature that needs to be disabled is the "Wi-Fi Manager".
To disable this feature you need to do the following:
Access your T-Mobile account (for me I just press on the "T-Mobile
My Account" App).
Press the menu button on your device, then select "Options".
Under "Notifications" uncheck the box marked "Display Wi-Fi
Manager notifications".
Under "Connection Assistant" select "Open Wi-Fi manager".
Uncheck the box for "Manage Wi-Fi Connections".
That's it...
I talked to T-mobile tech support about an unrelated issue and
offhandedly mentioned this problem. The rep informed me that this
was a known issue and stated that this issue was being addressed.
In the mean time disabling the "Wi-Fi Manager" is a temporary fix
to address this problem. Here is the shorthand way to disable the
Wi-Fi manager:
T-Mobile My Account (app) -> Menu -> Options -> "Display Wi-Fi Manager
Notifications" (Uncheck) -> "Open Wi-Fi Manager" (under
"Connection Assistant") -> (Uncheck) "Manage Wi-Fi Connections".
iObit lists as "virus"
The iobit app designed for your phone lists this as a security risk and "virus like". I've been using iObit for years and like the services for my computer as it deletes all the cache malware that Google Yahoo and others keep on my system to spy on me that most other malware and virus protection software ignores...
This file - tool/android_deviceAlive.a[prv,gen] should be hacked into and have someone look at it very closely and examine what all of the functions are. If it turns out it compromises our security/privacy, then it should be shouted from the mountain top of cellphone users with android installed.

Data partially working on my G5 - LS992

Hi All,
I am having a lot of problem with the internet data on my phone; I can browse and use any internet required app when using wifi but I am unable to do some things using my Data plan.
Whats weird is that I can use whatsapp, olx or facebook messenger to send text messages but cannot send images through them, I am able to play games such as Clash of Clans or Clash Royale but I cannot use Uber because it just keeps signing in but it never does.
At this point I don't think theres a problems with the hardware but with a specific setting I may need to modify (May be wrong though)
Heres what I've tried so far:
- Factory reset
- Reset Network settings
- Erase and add all of the APNS for my phone company
- Check on the mobile data (enable and disable) and enable roaming data.
- Made sure the SIM fits properly on the slot
- Uninstall and reinstall all the apps that I have had problems with.
- Everything tested ok when using wifi but it starts happening when I start using my mobile data.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, I love the phone but am pretty disappointed on this situation I am having, Am even thing of maybe go back to Android 6.0 and see if 7.0 is the problem
Thanks!!!
Victor
Hi,
You need to check your sprint account and check if there is some restriction on your phone number
I had the same problem, everything ok with wifi but data partially working.
What i did is install the HiddenMenu apk then:
-LG Hidden Menu
-FieldTest
-NAO Test
-NAOT
-NAOT Settings > Enable > NAO Carrier: i selected ATT.
Then i restarted the phone and voila.
When i restart my phone i get an anoying Activating Device Popup. What i do is unlock the phone before it appears and when it comes up i slide down the notification bar and go to settings many time until the popup dissapears.
