Try to give the wrong answer continuously until the phone is either frozen or locked for several seconds.
After that you should find a Forget Password / Pattern button, press this button and it should bring you to a screen to input your Google account username or password (Gmail account).
This step should bypass or unlock your forgotten security protection on your HTC ONE M7.
I have never used password or pin protection, so I cannot guarantee the results.
I hope that works for you, as I do not know why a factory reset wouldn't, unless it's recognizing the phone by your number and continuing to lock you out even after a hard reset.
I wish you luck! :good:

If you were locked out from the moment you bought it, I would request a refund.
Only way it will get unlocked at this point, is by the person who locked it, sounds like.
It's possible that if it came to you this way, it might even be stolen.
Not what you wanna hear. But that's what I would do.
That's if it did in fact come to you this way.
If not, then you should be able to remember your pin.
Really don't know if there's much that anyone else can suggest.

Because a security lock on a device isn't intended to be simply bypassed by wiping the device.
That would be way too easy for thieves.

If you bought it on ebay then you should contact the seller. If you do not get any help from the seller then open a case against the seller and ebay will help you to resolve the situation. If you receive an item bought on ebay that was not as described then you have options.
The only other thing I would suggest is to go to a verizon store and see if they might have way to bypass the password.
Last night I plugged it in to charge and this morning it was stuck at Google logo. I tried factory reset but it failed (see attachment). I tried to flash it with Google factory image but I am unable to unlock the bootloader (too many links error). The warranty run out in 08/2014. Any ideas?
Thanks.

My first post shows the pic of what happened when I tried that. I think this is a lost cause. Thanks for your reply.
A few days ago, I was using my HTC 10 when it restarted and began bootlooping. After it looped probably 30+ times, it finally turned on and worked fine... for a bit. It has repeated this process multiple times through the past few days. It is completely stock. Any advice? I have a working ADB and fastboot setup, but that is all. (Note: I can not return the phone as I bought it used)

I would flash RUU.
If u cannot factory reset it from the bootloader screen, u can do it from the backup and reset tab in the settings when it powers on.

That's the one I used.
I was using my phone like I usually do, and then it suddenly froze. So I held down the power button, forcing it to restart. Ever since, the screen only shows "Google" for a while, then becomes blank; no booting animation. It would restart itself occasionally.
I tried booting into recovery mode by holding Power+VolDown, and selecting "recovery mode". For the first few tries, it would go back to the Google screen, the turn blank. After giving it a break and trying again, I finally got to the "no command" screen, and I wiped the cache partition. Sadly, I'm still having the same problem.
Is this a bootloop? How can I fix this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This happened to me and Google sent a replacement phone. However the replacement phone is a refurbished phone that suffers from ghost touches Now trying to get a replacement for the replacement.

The bootloader allows the phone to be unlocked to flash custom ROMs on it, without it unlocked you'll brick your phone. Read up about rooting your phone first so you can get the idea of what goes into it before attempting it. Once you get the general idea of unlocking the phone and flashing things on it, it becomes relatively easy. There's even a nexus root toolkit on this forum that you can download on your computer for free as well as "how-to's" for doing it

No is not necessary, but in order to re flash the factory image to fix the problem the bootloader must be unlocked. You never have to root your device but having a unlocked bootloader is essential to flashing anything on your device other wise like I said, you'll brick your phone. You can even lock it back to full stock once you've re flashed the image.
Edit: there's another way of flashing the factory image but it requires some searching. You might not be able to do it the way I'm explaining to you Because you would have to give it permission to be unlocked in the developers option while the phone is booted up and operative

When u first bought your phone and it takes you through the set up window, when it asked you to put in your email, that right there backs up all your apps that you previously had in the phone so when you go through the setup again, it's going to ask you if you want to start as a new phone or recover your previous apps. You won't be able to recover all of your data but you should be able to recover all of your apps.
