Hey!
Only during outgoing calls the display turns off and won't turn on not even by pressing the power button. On incoming calls the proximity sensors on the right of the ear piece work ok. They turn the display on and off when needed.
Is the outgoing call using different sensors? I did replace the screen myself, so this might be a related issue, but since it works ok on incoming calls, i wonder...
My guess is it's either a sw issue or it uses different sensors for incoming and outgoing calls.
So did any of you had this issue and have a solution?
Thanks!
L.E.: I managed to reproduce the issue on incoming calls, so at least that narrows it. I'll take down the screen and re-position it.
After day 1, my microphone stopped working except for when using the speakerphone. After some troubleshooting with Google, looks like I'll be on phone number 2. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Yes, same problem. My phone arrived Thursday and I just noticed today the microphone ONLY works when making a phone call with speaker phone enabled. Bluetooth on/off makes no difference, safe mode makes no difference. Once speaker phone is toggled off the mic stops working and will start working again once speaker phone is enabled. Removing my case has no effect. Disabling the squeeze to activate Google Assistant also has no effect, mic still won't work. Mic doesn't work when recording videos or manually launching the Google Assistant.
Google offered to send me a replacement this week.

Hi,
I have the Canadian variant LG g3 running the latest fulmics rom. Everything runs smoothly but with 1 issue.
I believe the mic near IR blaster is broken. Whenever I use speaker or handsfree mode while calling, the person on the other line can't hear me but I can hear them. When I turn off speaker mode, and use it regularly like a phone, it works as normal.
If the top mic is broken, is there an app or a way to disable the top mic and make it use the bottom mic only when turning on speaker mode?
In addition, the app viber works when I turned on speaker/hands free mode. I use viber for long distance calls over WiFi.

Reinstall stock and then install fulmics again. Sometimes stock is needed to recalibrate the sensors. Don't know why g3's have that problem.
Hello to all. I read on the net that it is a common problem. when we listen to a voice message on whatsapp, if we make the mistake of bringing the phone to the ear, activating the proximity sensor, the audio stops. is there a way to make whatsapp play audio messages exclusively in speakerphone without activating the proximity sensor which obviously does not work correctly? thanks
Hi All
Have a stock rom Fold3 and having an issue whereby the proximity sensor is not turning off the screen in WhatsApp when you bring the phone to your face to listen to a voice note, so you just get blasted in the ear by the speaker instead of it switching to the earpiece
Thanks in advance all
I have exactly the same issue. it blasts the sound from the speaker for a second then turns it to the earphone. There's a delay

For the moment i'm using this fix:
On smartphone go to Bluetooth connected smartwatch settings and turn off for calls. (not using my watch for call anyways)
Same issue on my Note 20 ultra connected to my GW4!
Hi, I have the same issue using S21 Ultra + Watch4 and fixed disabling Calls on BT settings of the watch as suggested. Any news regarding a real fix from Samsung?
I have the same issue on Zenfone 8 with GW4, and whatsapp version 2.22.18.75.
Is there any news about this issue?
I have an update on this, in my case, the issue is not limited to the smartwatch, but to every Bluetooth device for which the calls are enabled, I tried with my car's Bluetooth and a pair of earphones.
Can someone else test with earphones as well? I disabled multimedia audio and left enabled calls, and the proximity sensor with whatsapp doesn't work
Same problem for me with a Samsung galaxy a71 and a watch 4 classic
I guess we have to wait for a fix from whatsapp...

Omg thanks so much for this I've been having the same issue and I've been trying to figure out if my phone is broken or something
Yes when I disconnect my galaxy watch 4 from my s21 ultra then the voice note proximity sensor works but if it's connected to the watch then it doesn't work
I'm going to message WhatsApp about fixing thisb

This issue may occur because your proximity sensor is turned off. You can turn it on by going to your phone's settings. You can turn it on from call settings or turn it on from sensor settings.

the proximity sensor is turned on, in fact, it does work with other applications like telegram.
The issue is only with WhatsApp and only if a Bluetooth device, with the call option enabled, is connected.

you don't need to disconnect the watch completely, it is enough to disable the call option in the Bluetooth connection settings of the watch, leaving it connected
With WhatsApp version 2.22.21.83 the issue seems to be solved!
If the proximity sensor on your device is not working properly while using WhatsApp voice notes, you may want to try the following solutions:
Clean the proximity sensor: Sometimes, dirt or dust may accumulate on the proximity sensor, which can cause it to malfunction. Clean the sensor using a soft cloth or cotton swab.
Restart your device: Restarting your device can often solve minor software issues that may be causing the proximity sensor to malfunction.
Update WhatsApp: Make sure that you are using the latest version of WhatsApp. Check the app store for any available updates and install them if necessary.
Check permissions: Make sure that WhatsApp has permission to access your device's microphone and proximity sensor. You can check this in your device's settings.
Disable screen protectors or cases: Screen protectors or cases may interfere with the proximity sensor's ability to detect when your device is close to your ear. Try removing any screen protectors or cases and see if that resolves the issue.
If the problem persists, you may want to contact the manufacturer of your device or WhatsApp support for further assistance.
when you bring the phone to your face to listen to a voice note on WhatsApp, the proximity sensor fails to turn off the screen. As a result, instead of the audio playing through the earpiece, it blasts directly through the speaker, causing discomfort in your ear.
Hi friend
If the proximity sensor is not functioning properly while using voice notes on WhatsApp, try restarting your device or reinstalling the app. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to WhatsApp support for further assistance.Free Fire
