I don’t see this setting on my device. Any assistance would be appreciated where to find it or what needs to be done to get it.

Isn't it under Security and Location in the settings menu?

Search works really well in the Settings menu. Type fingerprint and I bet you that you'll find it.
Nope, nothing under security and nothing when I searched. Must of got a lemon.

Oh that's definitely weird!!! I'd call google, or fastboot the factory image again if your bootloader unlocked
Googled it, not a common occurrence but it has happened on some Pixel smartphones. Recourse is return it and try another sine it is still in that window.
If not, it would have to be sent to google. They either fix it or send you a new device.

Did you try a factory reset? You would hate to send back and the problem is fixed but you get a new hardware issue on the replacement device.
Did it not allow you to set your fingerprint during the initial start setup?
Factory reset three times, did not help. It did not give me an option at startup to use fingerprint, only pin or password etc.
Anyone having this issue don’t beat yourself up trying to resolve. Return the Pixel and get a replacement. Next one I got after exchange was fine.

So I have been doing some extensive research on unlocking methods for the LG G2. I think I am close to something but I have hit a wall. I need someone to test something for me to confirm if it's me or sprint.
Please in your dialer insert this : ##4433386368#
Then go to FW and tap the OMA-DM.
Can you guys see this menu?
Or does it crash?
Please post your results let's get this thing unlocked!
Please only post if you haven't called sprint to unlock yet.
Has anyone tried this yet?
I just tried it. It said unfortunately service program has stopped.
I think that is for MSL, I an on Custom ROM and can't check dialer codes with out flashing back to stock.

OK so it looks like something is keeping us from entering these settings. This OMA-DM menu is what HTC one users used to unlock the HTC one. Also what sprint uses to unlock the device themselves. THis is what manages OTA updates.
Edit: If anyone finds a way to get into this OMA-DM menu, or know how to edit it, please post here, would be much appreciated.
Can anyone tell me what the Sprint LG G2 equivalent for this is? This is how they unlocked the HTC ONE for international use and I am trying to see if it might work with the LG G2 also.

am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.TestMainActivity

Not yet, it's either Sprint blocking us from the menu, or something else, whoever is rooted, can they tell me if they find an apk called vdmc.apk or vDM.apk on their device?

Ok SO I figured out that the vmdc.apk in the LG G2 is actually called Update Device. Now to find a way to edit that so we can unlock this baby!
Done a lot of work in trying to get close to unlocking it, using a lot of the Terminal emulator, I was wondering if anyone has gotten their G2 unlocked by sprint yet and explain me how the process went.

Hi there, i too have a Sprint G2 that needs the sim unlock. For all i know, if Sprint make the unlock on their server, all you have to do is to go to System Updates menu and select the UICC Unlock
Hope you can find a solution for us, finger crossed.

Yeah I am trying to find what value they change, or if they add a value, when they update it, all the strings for phone unlock are all here on the phone, I just have not come around to finding a trigger yet.

Another interesting find is that in the service programming via qpst, the user data profile is locked and cannot be changed. And the phone does not have built in EPST function.

I've decompiled most of the apks that have something to do with OMADM and Sim Unlocks, Havent Found anything other than a "DmcTestSimLockTestMenu" option on the hidden Menus, now when I open that, I get the menu and there are three Options:
1 Set DB for Normal mode
2 Set DB for Test mode
3 Check timetable
Now both of those first options do nothing towards SIM unlocking, so I'm not sure where to go from here, but if anyone has some insight into this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Also, could anyone that has actually gone to sprint and asked them for the unlock, and got it granted, tell me what happened, how it happened, and if you've tested it to work.
Thank you

Yes there is a ICC menu in LG's Hidden Menu APK, but nothing there is editable(at least from the menu itself), just shows the ICC info.

I would think Sprint only allow OTA edit of the ICC value so to change the SIM lock status.
If we can find the way to edit the value of the ICC then it should be done. Need to find which physical address the menu pulls data from?
Yup, that would solve it, I don't know if it's allowed, but I have decompiled the apk, am I allowed to post that part of the code here so you can take a look at it?
Please help me? I am by no means a developer, just a wanna be nerd with a new phone. I'm looking for pattern lock reset help ~ I've not forgotten it, simply want to change it, and while it seems like something that would be simple and obvious, it is currently not presenting itself that way and I'm more than a little frustrated with myself (and it).
Meanwhile, the first two weeks the phone seemed just fine (apart from not playing with Planet anymore, though that seems worked out now, though I'm not at all certain). Now, I'm getting a lot of security issues cropping up that seem disturbing. Verizon tech support tells me that Kitkat 4.3 has known issues in this arena that they hope will be corrected in the next update. There is a constant message about my network traffic, email, etc may be monitored by an unknown third party and to check my security certificates. Did that ~ cleared them all, but that only helped for about 10 minutes. The phone insists that it cannot get a secure connection to Facebook, so I am too wary to do much of anything online with it. Seems to defeat the purpose of even having the phone. I'm seriously considering switching back to my last smartphone and turning this one off (I do not believe that I can return it).
I'm so sorry to ramble on so, but is it insane to ask if the M8 can be pushed back to an older version of Android?!?!?
Thank you so very much for ANY help at all.
Change pattern: settings, security, click on Screen lock and enter your current pattern. Click Screen Lock again to enter a new one, then repeat to confirm, and you're done.
For the second part I have no solution I'm afraid.

"He" is a she... and I am not looking to hack anything at all. I am simply too daft to change my own security pattern. As I stated clearly, I have not forgotten how to unlock my phone, I would simply like to change it, and while this should be a simple and obvious task, it appears to be eluding me at present... (though I am, somehow, adept enough to have already tried the obvious tactic of "googling" the question before annoying those I presumed more clever than myself.
To the first response, I thank you for your kindness and patience, I will attempt your suggestion straight away.
Kind regards,

Have you tried following these "suggestions" ?
HOWTO Install a custom cert without "Your network could be monitored" message
How can I trust CAcert's root certificate?
Remove "Network May Be Monitored by an Unknown Third Party" in Android 4.4 KitKat
Maybe/Hopefully it'll sort out your second problem in regards to the Trusted Credentials.
Anyone htat ever needs to reset their lock if they have forgotten it or get locked out somehow, Here is my backdoor mod I created specifically for this type of situation You may not need it now but download it & save it so you will always have it with you when that time comes if it ever oes and chances are, it will!

I rooted the phone last night, but made no other changes. The wifi works at home, but not at work. I have tried restarting the phone, turning wifi off and back on, turning airplane mode on and back off, I verified the password with IT, and I verified other devices can connect. When I try, it will display "saved, secured with WPA/WPA2" for 10-15 seconds, and then it changes to "disabled". I can't restart the router, since it's not mine. Are there any other steps that I can take to remedy this?
I know this thread is very old, but this is the exact situation I am in.

I don't remember, unfortunately. I am 2-3 phones past my M8 at this point, so those details are gone. I don't remember the problem persisting for any extended length of time (I didn't actually remember the problem existing to be honest), so I have to assume that there is a solution. Whether it fixed itself, or I did something though, I don't know. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck.

Just saying you have the same problem, is not going to get your problem fixed. If you want any real help, please provide details on exactly what you did (step by step, files names, be specific as possible).
Also, do fastboot getvar all, if you know how. Delete IMEI and serial number before posting.
You probably need to update your firmware.
I decided to set a new pattern lock for my Redmagic 5G last Saturday night and when I woke up the following morning I can't seem to remember the new pattern (Alcohol was a factor).
I have hard reset the phone but the pattern did not go away. I contacted the company and provided them with pictures, IMEI number and receipt for the phone and they simply said that they cannot provide technical support for me because I am in a country where they have been embargoed by (U.S.A.).
What to do? Please HELP ME!

Not sure if you were able to solve your problem...but it seems like there are certain software you can download for windows to help open phones when you have lost or forgotten your pins or patterns. stuff like 4ukey on android. may be worth a shot to look into. I've never personally tried any myself but sounds like you might have to try something in that area to help you out. hope you find something.

Hi,
Thanks. I did try the 4ukey, it does not work. They basically have created a UI that just gives you the hard reset steps that I already knew and had done. It is not some magical trick to rid the phone of FRP LOCK. I honestly think they are a rip off.
So, basically I bought a broken Nexus 5x off ebay with the bootloop problem and I fixed it up but the last owner left their passcode and stuff on it so I reset it in Recovery mode but now it's saying that I need the last owners google account to use it. If you could give me some help on A. How to get past it or B. Find out the previous owners email so I can email them and maybe get them to login or something. I just don't want my time fixing the bootloop problem to be wasted if I can't resell it or use it myself. Thanks, Pengus009
You need to google bypass to use the phone.
