Hoping to get your thoughts on audio through 3.5mm dongle since I just can't seem to find anything at all.
Audio should be identical to the P2 XL, look there
It sounds the same as the 2XL: no problems using the USB-C to 3.5 mm dongle (that was included with the 2XL). Sounds the same as a regular 3.5 mm headphone jack. I never had an issue with the official converter. If you buy a cheap one from Amazon, it won't work (tried that once). It has to do with what is enabled in the cheap converters, etc. I don't remember, but I learned my lesson.
It works well. I was using it on my LG G6. my head phone jack on the g6 must have been broken because i would loose sound in one headphone and sometimes it wouldn't recognize them. Interestingly I went through 3 replacements of that phone and all of them had that same problem. But with the connector it worked perfectly. it is a pain in the butt to use and a stupid concept, but a stupid concept that worked better than the phone's jack.

On my WFS jack connector jumps out about 1mm... it is big problem because it stop playing music. WHY? Does somebody have same problem?

i used to get this ALOT if i just use my standard headphones directly into the socket. even if it doesn't "pop out", the slightest movement of the headphone jack would cause it to "disconnect" and stop playing music.....VERY annoying.
I managed to "fix" it by simply buying, a cheap as chips headset adapter on amazon. I have no idea why this works, as the plug on the end looks identicle to the one on my headphones, but for some reason, if i use my headphones i get disconnects.....if i use the wired headset adapter then plug my headphones into that it works. no more disconnects.
like i said, no idea WHY this is the case, but it worked for me. i juse bought the cheapest one i could find, i think it was around £2 on amazon.

if your using the original headset, i would do as stated above or:
go back to the shop and ask a refund or repair.
if your using your own headphones:
try using your headphones in other devices (pc, mp3 player) and see if it does the same, if not contact the company where you bought your wfs if you still have warrenty, i would not accept this kind of hardware failure.

no, neither the headset nor the headphones are magnetic. I can genuinely see absolutely no difference between the two plugs, but one works, one doesn't :s

I to have problems with 3.5mm in car its loose any slight movement will turn off music. i will find an adapter to.

just ordered this. according to the listing there are 3 in the pack, and that's only around £2.70. So if it works out well, and anyone in the uk wants one I should have 2 spare when they arrive, just let me know if you want one and you can have it. I'll try it out first when they get here though. From the description, it sounds like it takes the 3.5mm 4 pin (with headset) and converts it to 3.5mm 3 pin (normal headphones). So it should be perfect if you don't want use of a mic/headset.
My headset cable adapter works well to be fair, but the extra cable does make thigns a bit unmanageable, so hopefully this adapter will work out a bit better
I had the same problem. After trying different headphones, I decided to take a small slotted screw driver.
Just stick it into the slot and turn it a few times without too heavy pressure and now everything works nice!

No seriously, I was really worried before I did it but it worked out fine!
those plugs for headphones 'felt' cheap the first time i plugged my headphones... they rly have little something that stops you from plugging propperly so you just roll it few times, i did it with my hp-s...just roll and push a bit... and i smiled just how u did it with screwdriver xD
but the main thing is, that it works... you guys decide: screwdriver or headphones jack xD

EDIT: I had that problem with a pair of Creative EP630 in-ear headphones (cheap eBay copy).
Since I bought my Sony MDREX-50LP (guaranteed original) never had that issue.
The sound with Poweramp is absolutely FANTASTIC.
Was so Angry when I first found this problam, I listen to a lot of music. I twisted the Headphone jack a couple of times and Voila!

Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help me out some? A few days ago, out of nowhere seemingly, the right channel of my headphone jack on my GNex stopped working. I've checked it, and it's entirely clean, and I've cleaned the contact with rubbing alcohol. I can get the right ear to work again if I push the headphones to the right. I know for sure it's not the headphones I'm using either, as they work on other devices, and I have the same issue if I use other headphones too.
The phone is out of warranty, so I can't send it back.
I was wondering if there is a micro usb work around for this. I know you can get Micro USB to 3.5mm adapters, but I don't know if they work on android phones, or even the Galaxy Nexus specifically.
If anybody could give me a hand, your help would be much appreciated.

Did you try a different rom/kernel? Some kernels have broken the headphone jack for me in the past so its worth consideration since you don't have a lot of options.
It's stock, and nothing about the device has changed since it was working. I think it may have been the earphones being yanked out of the phone when they got caught.

Even though my new galaxy nexus has a perfectly working headphone jack, I still use the jabra street 2 about 90% of the time. It's great at the gym also. I can just leave my phone in my bag and only have to carry around a device the size of an ipod nano.

Im quite happy with my Mi6, but ive noticed something which is very bad.. Since Mi6 doesnt have a headphone jack it ships with an adapter.. Well I've lost that original adapter, and then a few days after i lost it ordered an replacement.. That replacememt worked for a few days, but the cable on that one was pretty flimsy, so it kinda broke amd i returned it.. Then i ordered some nice looking cable, and i plug it in, and it doesnt work at all, no headphones recognized and no sound coming from them.. So i thought the cable was trash and i bought one from a quite known brand where i live, in a local store here, and again it doesnt get recognized.. But i noticed (Note that all cabled i ordered said, they were compatible with the Mi6) that when i plug the headphones in the plugged in adapter, i get some weird noises, like when you rotate a 3.5mm jack in its port, some weird sounding noises, but thats all noise i get out of it... So is my port broken ? Charging works completely fine.

That's a weird one.
Hopefully its not broken as it seems to be okay with everything else.
I have no expertise on this but I have two suggestions that won't hurt you.
1.a. If the phone isn't playing music from the speaker then it has detected the headphones. It sounds stupid but on MIUI if you put the phone on silent the volume of music goes to 0.
Double check you have turned the volume up a bit and not on 0.
That's the kind of thing I would make a mistake about....
1. Use something very thin and very gentle (don't scratch anything) to clean out the port. It could be a piece of dust or something.
2. Does the port work for data transfer to a PC? If so then the data pins of the port are working.
3. See if you can borrow someone's adapters. But remember different manufacturers switch around the pins inside the phone and adapter to make only their adapter work on their phones. Its actually really awful they can do this as the whole point of USB C is to standardise everything....
Mine however works with the google pixel adapter so some of them will work

1. Its not getting detected.. So i plug them in, the sound goes through the speaker, as if no heaphones are connected.. The only sound i get from the headphones is when i twist them around in the adapter, a bit, like some weird noises, but definetely not from the music playing (but the adapters ive boight clearly say they are for Mi6)
2. Data Transfer works without problems.. Pc detects it and can copy files in both ways no problem
Those USB-C to 3.5 are a NIGHTMARE, mine was acting like the one you have... if you headset has a detachable 3.5. You can buy a usb-c to 3.5 so you avoid any adapter..... But in the end is cheaper just to get some cheap BT headset. Jbl, Phillips among other sell BT headset for not a lot of money.
Hello, i own a xiaomi mi6, but my model was with main MIC damaged so i have replaced It. Now main MIC works fine and charge working too. The only thing that does not work is the audio output of headphones. Can someone help me please?
I bought this "3 in 1 USB C Aux Adapter" cable to use in my car but it doesn't seem to work right with my car for some reason.
When my Pixel 3 is plugged into the USB C side it only outputs the left channel
When my Pixel 3 is plugged into the 3.5mm w/ an adapter it only outputs the right channel
With my iPod Classic plugged into the 3.5mm side it seems to output both L and R channels
Anyone know of a similar type cable that definitely works with the Pixel 3? I don't really want to have to use an adapter.

Well, slightly embarrassing but I actually wired up the aux cable incorrectly in my car. All is well and the cable works properly.

Let me preface...I'm definitely not an expert in the whole audio conversion area. I did start doing some light research a while back regarding USB-C --> 3.5mm adapters because I noticed that the dongle provided with the Pixel 3 caused sound quality issues with my 3.5mm Bose buds. I fly on airplanes a lot and noticed the sound output volume is significantly less with the dongle and 3.5mm headphones than using the USB-C Pixel buds. From what I've been able to gather is that the digital audio converter (DAC) chip built into most of these dongles is garbage or nonexistent.
Regarding the 2-in-1 adapter / chargers...I was also looking to buy something where I could listen to my 3.5mm buds and charge my phone at the same time BUT I stumbled across some article that basically said none of those work. If I remember correctly it had something to do with the phone itself, I think it was software related?? Maybe do some searching on this but I remember reading enough stuff where it sounded like a scammy product line so I didn't purchase. Maybe this has something to do with your L vs R channel issue??
Back to the regular dongle converter...you know how things are on Amazon sometimes, 3rd party vendors can be shady and say something is higher quality when it's really not which has made me hesitant to pull the trigger on a slightly more expensive dongle. That said, I finally purchased one today that is definitely a bit more expensive than others but it seems legit and I've found reviews in other forums referencing it. It should arrive in a few days so I can report back but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that audio output volume / quality isn't lost like it is with the standard dongle.
Alright, the Accessport-Lite (APL) converter arrived today. Here's what I think...regular 3.5mm headphones (I'm using Bose buds) into APL into device are definitely higher quality sound than using the converter that came in box with Pixel. You can hear more background noise, overall it's more crisp and max volume is a little bit louder, not as loud as I was hoping for however but an improvement that will make a difference when flying.
Another option...I picked up a 3.5mm splitter months ago so two people could listen at the same time. I noticed that 3.5mm headphones into splitter into Pixel box converter into device actually has higher max volume than simply headphones into Pixel box converter. Go figure. Splitters are really cheap at electronic stores. Although, I would recommend buying one from the audio equipment section as opposed to the phone section. They really upcharge you for the same exact thing that's supposed to be "specially made for a phone" which is garbage.
I also tried 3.5mm headphones into splitter into APL converter, sound quality wasn't noticably better than just APL. If anything some of the crispness seemed less.
Pixel Buds straight into device remain the loudest option. However, they do not cancel or shut out loud background noise like when flying so peak volume means nothing.
Long story short...I'm decently satisfied with the APL converter. Didn't blow me away but you can tell it's quality made and every but counts when trying to overcome loud airplane noise.

I've been using the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for half a year. I like it: the Google adapter was too loud on lowest volume, and had an issue with echo in calls when using earbuds with a mic (Shure SE215). The Apple fixes all these issues and is smaller and lighter.
Just wanted to let everyone know that the HTC usonic headphones, and the htc dongle both work on these phones without modification (the sound canceling function of the heaphones does not work though). These headphones sound great with this phone. I searched google and didn't find anything. Just hoping to help if anyone is looking for wired headphones. these are great and have lasted years using every day and arent too expensive.
I also used my Sennheiser HD1s connected via a Cable Matters USB-C to Micro USB cable, works really well and sounds great to me!
