i have lg g710awm canada purchased .i want volte enable but by secret menu it doesnt works does anyone knws any other trick
Secret menu? It's in the settings menu > network tab > call menu.
Well that's on my G7 purchased at Bell.
By the way, I'm using a theme but this is indeed a screenshot from the Canadian variant of the G7.

its a service menu for settings and testing purpose for the factory, I was hoping by getting into the service menu I would be able to turn off the LTE radio, but even in the service menu I can`t find anywhere to turn off the LTE radio.
Nuts. That's exactly what I was hoping to find, too. Turn off LTE for extra battery. Should be a no-brainer,but apparently not.
Service Menu > LTE-Only > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > LTE Only
OR
Service Menu > WCDMA-Only > Modem Settings > RAT Selection > etc.
Carrier: Bell Canada
Android: v4.0.4

Ah ha! Changing it to WCDMA seems to lock it to just "4g" rather than "4g lte" and it's giving me hspa+ type speeds. Will have to see if battery life improves. Thanks!
So is there a way to make a shortcut or toggle for that?

enable applications from any source in dev options and install the "any cut" apk from the browser
freewarelovers.com/android/download/temp/1281882094_Any_Cut_1.0.apk
create a shortcut to "activity" and then "network mode" - voila! GSM/WCDMA actually turns off the LTE radio
Or you could go into build.prop, change ro.radio.network.type to enable then change network mode In the network settings menu

And this is why I moved over from iOS.

yes this worked perfect, my file I had to change in my phone was ro.radio.networkmod=disabled and mounted as R/w in system folder modified with text editior in Root explorer, ro.radio.networkmod=enable, and save file and exit and rebooted phone. then go in settings and networks ---> connectivity--->mobile networks--->network mode , then you have your network chioices.
Just be careful here. Several of us found that disabling LTE caused a ton of wakelocks and killed the battery. Test it and see.
Hopefully we can get that fixed with a ROM.

I am now convinced (and have told both at&t and lg) that this is due to fast dormancy.
I have not had any success disabling fast dormancy on a stock Rom rooted or not.
There IMEI change function in the service menu.
Is it really works??

I see again another North American Optimus G model that still has the same baseband version as all the rest. Is this implying that all the models should support 700, 1800, 2100 and 2600mhz LTE bands, they just have them disabled in software?

I turned it off for a day just to see and it seemed to get the same or worse battery. I think the longer waits to download things with the screen on longer outweighs the cost of LTE when idle. It did run a little cooler as LTE tends to heat things up. OS might have been a little more responsive too...although that could have just been me thinking I get better battery when using it. Biggest battery saver is Eco-Mode...when it is off this thing drops battery as fast or faster than the Atrix HD I had.
Hopefully FD or whatever is causing the Phone/Android System to use so much battery will be fixed soon and all will be good. Other than that and my back button giving haptic feedback and the OS not responding to it every now and then this phone is nice.
For those interested in getting to the Service Menu quicker I made an app for it- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34766577
Does anybody know the difference between the end result of the "factory reset" option in the service menu and going thru the long, convoluted LGNPST method of restoring back to factory settings?

How did you open this on Bell? I can't for the life of me get service to open
- I open dialer
- Dial 3845#*973#
- nothing happens
- I hit green dial key
- A box pops up saying "USSD code running" for a second, then another one that says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code."
Tried eith 970, 971, 973... how are you guys getting this to work?
EDIT: I can't even dial '#06#' and get it to work... does this not work if you are rooted? Did I delete an APK i should not have? What APKs are responsible for loading these menus?
EDIT2: OK - so *#06# pops it up instantly... going to keep experimenting...
EDIT 3: So, it seems to me, that it has to do with timing. If you don't dial the codes fast enough they don't work... very unusual.

Nope. They'll let you lock out LTE, but the mode options are as follows:
GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto
GSM/WCDMA Auto (no LTE)
WCDMA Only (No GSM or LTE)
GSM Only (No WCDMA or LTE)
I was happy to find this much, I came from AT&T, which doesn't let you do any of this. Given T-Mobile's incomplete LTE deployment, I can understand not putting in an LTE Only option, they're not going to be fully deployed until mid 2015.
Maybe once they're more deployed they'll add an LTE Only option.
LTE only would give you data only. You need hspa for voice. Until voice over LTE is regular, you won't see this option
Data is all I need. Was just curious. Maybe once CM hits the G3. Thanks for all the feedback.

@al5zMri thanks a lot man!!! This works on d855 i have unlimited LTE data plan but... only LTE -_- so it was incredibly annoying to constantly check connection mode while downloading. Now i wont waste money anymore!!!
Hi. It worked well on my G3-855, to force LTE only. But once the phone is forced to LTE only , now how to go back to the menu to cancel the "LTE only" if I need to registrer on an GSM or a 3G network ? Now once it's on "LTE only" which works fine for LTE, I can't enter anymore the hidden menu, the phone dosen't "dial" any number as it can't find a network to dial on. LTE is considered as a not dialing mode - it's data only. Thanks.

How can I get this to work for my lg stylus 2 dual.... I can't force lte only... Network disappear so quick the given code doesn't work for my phn
Hey. I just got a Puerto Rican version of LG G3 and I do not have LTE option in mobile network settings. Workaround is to go to service menu and select GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto there and then it works on LTE just fine. Any way to get it into the mobile network menu
Thanx!!
PS: using on Telus in Canada
Noone knows I guess.......

I made a guide in the general section on how to enable LTE, check it out here, and see if it works for you.
I was recently in Korea for work, so I picked up the G4 to bring back to the US. I bought it from SK Telecom, they told me phone should work globally. Now being back in the US, i popped in my Verizon Sim card and no mobile network is available. Phone is reading my sim and has the correct APNs, but still no connection. Does anyone know how to access the service menu to change bands?

I figured, but does anyone know how to access the hidden menu to view all the bands available?
5457#*500#
That should do however I can't access the main hidden menu to disable the throttling.
Thanks for the info 3rd degree.
I tried that on my H815 G4 but it didn't work (invalid code).
I also tried 5457#*815# but that didn't work either.
Unfortunately the 3845#*modelnumber# that always worked previously doesn't now. eg 3845#*815# just gives the invalid code error.
*Edit* the answer is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-enter-g4-hidden-menu-t3122373
the code that works for me is 277634#*#

For some reason, field test isn't an option on my Tmo variant. Any ideas? (i'm trying to see what LTE bands are enabled)
anyone knows the marshmallow code?
Hello, could anyone please give a method to enable VoLTE on the G7TM? Mine has stopped working on my AT&T MVNO carrier and I want to keep using it! It seems to be hidden in the menus. I tried going into the universal enabler in the service menu but it didn't give the VoLTE option in the settings, the youtube video I was following was showing a standard OS G7 I believe and not a T-Mobile variant. Thanks for any help,
