What I am going to try to do is pick up the Galaxy Nexus for the advertised Holiday price of $199. Plus, use this Living Social Deal, you get $50 for the price of $25. That gives me a grand total of $175 for the Galaxy Nexus, hard to beat. The Living Social deal is good for 2 more days so if you are interested jump on it.

I'd be surprised if it actually debuted at $199 now on Verizon. Time will tell there. That $50 is also only for accessories.

Um, to quote the offer, "$50 to Spend on Any Device or Accessory".

The great thing about going through VZ here in the US is that if the phone has problems, you can take it back to them for a new one. If in the US, you order from the UK, you get to pay $30 to ship it back, and then wait a month for a replacement.
Oh, and the LTE ! And the 32GB storage......
Well worth a few days of waiting.

Instant replacement is really the only benefit I see.
Then again, I've never broken or had to do any warranty claim on 15+ smartphones (iPhone/BB/WP7/Pre/Android) that I've ever owned in my life.
I'm going with the odds. Besides, most issues are physical damage, which is not a warranty issue.
And once you root, your warranty goes bye-bye. Yes, there is the USB jig trick, etc.

Rooting doesn't automatically void the warranty. On the Nexus One unlocking the boot loader did, but HTC still honored it for hardware issues. On the Nexus S the language changed to MAY void the warranty and the boot loader became able to be locked via fast boot. GN also says "may". http://twitpic.com/7jii6h

G2x - 2.3.7 CM7

Well ..... My GN will be here on Tuesday so, it's all good. The unlocked version works on TMO.
Remember you pay more for a contract per month costs than a non contract per month costs. So in the end, it is about the same as just buying it out right.

Definitely beneficial and I'm actually saving $1 by adding it to my account by basically replacing my current insurance with that plan which is cheaper and allows me to upgrade every 6 months.. Can't wait for the HTC one max and note 3 to be announced..

There is an open enrollment period for current customers, you need to have a phone on EIP and thats it.
I came across this article comparing the new plans that TMobile and AT&T have intro'd - its worth a read if you are considering JUMP
I'm on a Classic plan my contract ends August next year. I wonder if I qualify for this? Already have insurance.

So with Tmobile you can pay an extra $10 month and when a new phone is released you have to trade up the phone that is on the EIP.. sounds like a rip to me. But to each his own.
Let me know if I have this right. I am on a classic plan. When the Note 3 comes out, I go in and pay $200 to cancel my classic plan, then buy the Note 3 and sign up for jump!. Then sell my Note 2 to pay for all of this. The only problem I see is that I have had the Note 2 for 9 months and it is still the only phone I want.

It's really more of an easy way to always have the latest and greatest. It's about the same price as selling your current phone and buying at full price. If you keep your phone in perfect condition and can sell it for top dollar than that is a better deal but a lot of hassle. I personally love this plan.

This is good but would rather have timely updates to continue to make my phone feel new. My only concern is this could be an incentive for t mobile not to push updates. And if the carrier isn't pushing them the oems may decide it not necessary to update despite the fact they are almost always a year or more behind what aosp is. I mean 4.3 is around the corner and an we are still on 4.1.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I think that T-Mobile is being pretty generous. They are basically buying any phone back for $360 bucks ($20x18months). Which can't be a money maker for them. They are probably hoping that they can sell the refurbs real cheap and get more people on monthly plans. 0 down and $15 a month and they only break even.

They do push out updates for a lot of the flagship devices. Hence the gs2 started on gingerbread and now has jellybean(I would bet money that's where it will end) I am well aware that unless something radically changes it will always be slow especially since they are dependent on oems. My concern is that this could make things worst. Unless Samsung starts pushing their own os (what ever it's called) and bypasses the carriers through kies like how apple does it through itunes. In the end I am happy with touchwiz and am looking more forward to an updated touchwiz rather than an updated android version.

If you go to HTC website site it only shows 1 color for T-Mobile. So far it's accurate spot to look. If you want Gold you have to get the unlocked, AT&T, or Dev version.

anyone know of a way to get a "jump" early?
I am on month 3 of my new T_mo service, and I am on my 3rd(replaced twice with problems) lg Flex; I'd love to get a M8, but, i have 3 more months until I am "officially" eligible..
Anyone know of a way to get my jump early, or convince T-Mo to let me grab one? I have 3 lines in total, and really dont need another line..
Thanks!
There is none other than paying off your device and starting a new EIP(you will have to wait 3 months).

You can go into a store, have them move you from JUMP! to JUMP! 2. The only difference between the 2 different programs is that JUMP! 2 requires you to pay off half the device to upgrade; which can be done at any time. No more 6 month waiting period. If you qualify for $0 down, you would be spending more money going that route, but if you like to upgrade all the time, it might be useful! I work for T-Mobile, that's how I know this info.

There is no 6 month waiting period. After the initial 6 months wait you don't have to wait.
The only difference between the two is
Old - 2 upgrades per year(not every 6 months), any amount owed is paid off
New - Upgrade any time a long as 50% is paid off.
I have already used 2 jumps already on one of my lines and I am about to do it again later today for the M8.

So, I am only 3 months into my "time" with T-mobile, and I have a LG Flex that I pay monthly on, with no money down.
I am in the "old" jump program.
What you are saying, is that I can take my Flex in, today, tell them to move me to "Jump 2", and trade it in for an M8, and I dont have to pay off anything on the Flex, and I can "start fresh" with an M8, with no money down? (I have great Credit)
Thanks

The only wait period is when you start jump.
Also when you do your second jump to the beginning of where you did the first jump.
For example I can't jump again until January next year for my two lines. My lines are stuck with the S5 and M8.

Yes, the bootloader will be locked if purchased from Best Buy or Verizon.
its been confirmed from multiple places that Verizons model will have a locked bootloader. so if you care about custom roms or resale value get the model from the google store. There is always a possibility that someone will figure out an unlock for the Verizon model but i wouldnt count on it

As stated multiple times the Verizon nexus 6 was still able to be unlocked, it was identical to the Google store one, just with a Verizon emblem on it.
If it's like the nexus 6 with unlockable bootloader I'll be getting the 128 xl from Verizon and be returning the 32 xl to the Google store. I kinda regret not getting the larger storage. Hopefully we will see the unlockable status for a fact on Thursday.
