LCD portion not flush with keyboard portion?

The siding on the left portion of my phone is not flush with the keyboard portion. I can always feel the "lip" or whatever you want to call it. This is a Tmobile TP2
Its annoying that phone isn't fully flush with itself.
Does any one else experience this?

I'm using a Telus TP2, but I can say that I haven't had any issues in regards to this.

yeaaa i have the same problem.
its as if the phone is crooked towards the left on the bottom half. if you slide your fingers together down the sides you feel the phone screen move in right as if it was not aligned correctly

Same problem here MPD suggested I go direct to HTC regarding this, as it was outside the 1 week direct swap window.
Apparently HTC have a 72 hour turnaround in the UK

Same issue here with both mine and my fiance's T-Mobile TP2, so I just assumed that's how they were. :\

wow i never even noticed this. Just another problem to add to the list.....how wonderful. I just posted my review of this phone before reading this thread and looking at my phone.

Aligning the two sections
I've found the same problem. Placing a small ruber patch at the end of the rail slots in the screen piece left my phone completely aligned.
Instructions:
Get some adhesive rubber piece that's about as thick as the misalignment in your phone. In my case, it was just one mm, and I found such a rubber piece as the filling between optional rubber "feet" that came with one router I had. I guess the chances of you having the same thing are dim, but the point is that this type of material shouldn't be difficult to find, just look around. Any hard rubber film with one adhesive side and the appropriate thickness should do.
Cut two pieces that are 1mmx1mm, and place them (tweezers will help in getting this done) right at the edge of the rails at the bottom of the screen piece. When viewed from below this should be at the left side of the bottom of the screen, right at the edge of the screen piece.
Close the keyboard to get the pieces stuck in place.
My phone is flush now.

Thanks for the tip, herbys. I had to do something similar on my Nokia N95 to fix the wobble in the slider.
I've had three T-Mobile TP2s so far and the lip is most noticeable on my third and current unit. My co-worker has one and his sits perfectly flush. I imagine it's just a small fluke on the assembly line, but I wonder how widespread the issue really is.

Car "Dock" using Velcro Brand Hook and Loop

So, I'm still waiting for the official Samsung dock with the functional 3-pins. Until then, this is my temporary solution...
Velcro Brand Removable Picture Hangers have a unidirectional hook which makes removing the phone really easy as you just slide it upwards.
The product comes with the hook side and the loop side. The loop is supposed to go on your wall (car) and the hook is supposed to go on the object you're hanging (picture frame) or in this case, the phone. If you put the hook on the phone though, it's going to catch on your pocket, your jacket, your sweater, etc., so I reversed it and put the loop in my car and the loop on the phone.
The hook can go anywhere. I just put it over my CD player because I never use it.

If you're going to put the hook in the car, make sure you reverse the directions so Velcro is now written upside down and the arrows point down also.
Loop patch on the back of the phone.
Hang it.
Voila
To remove, just slide it straight up. Comes right off.
I've actually been using this solution for about 2 years starting with my Droid X (instead of the official car dock) and later Droid Charge. My brother has it in his WRX, my wife has it in her Outback and I've had it in a Tacoma and most currently, a 328xi.

Thanks. Out of curiosity, what kind of car do you have? All you need is a few inches of flat real estate somewhere on the dash within your arms reach.

So does this leave sticky residue on the back of my phone? So everytime I take my phone off and want to make a call everyone will see a huge sticky pad?

Nope, removable silicone adhesive. Won't damage painted drywall either.

not bad at all... I need to figure out something, I'm really shocked that they were able to build such a beautiful phone but can't release a decent dock for either desk or vehicle that easily allows us to charge our phone and plug in a audio cable... They need to get it together and provide some accessories so i can give them more of my money!

So I recently got myself a 2004 Nissan Maxima.
This is what the centre console looks like stock
Anyways, when I bought the Nexus 7 I placed in front of the screen and it was a perfect fit. I decided to open it all up and move the screen to a lower position. (I lost one of those map pockets but whatever). Sidenote: on the left side of the picture under the steering column I tucked away an Avantree bluetooth module. Helped me retrofit the car with bluetooth audio so no wires
After all that I was left with this:
So i decided to install my N4 qi wireless charger in there. It's pretty ghetto really, I bought some cardboard, some felt and a pvc pipe for support taped it all together and:
Gave it power by soldering a micro usb cable down the back. Placed it in the huge space while resting the end of the pvc pipe onto an inner lip:
Best part is, my N4 fits nicely as well and because of the rubber lip I created to help the N7 slide in, it isn't free to move around.
When I took these pictures the soldering wasn't done which is why they aren't charging in the photos.
Anyways, thought I'd share, hope you guys liked it! Also sorry if this was more of a mod than an accessory but still

Question though, how are you running Navigation with the Nexus 7? Are you tethering your phone to it? Or is it LTE?

There are lots of offline gps apps (navigon, sygic,...). And you can update the maps over wifi since the n7 is removable from his build carboard. No traffic informations I guess, but that's fine with me.
Very nice though. I wanted to do a thing like that but there are too many modifications to do on my '96 Peugeot 106^^
Maybe with a new car in a few years.

[Q] I think I got cheese in my earpiece speaker?!

So I had the Hyperdrive KK RLS3.1 ROM on my phone. Yesterday morning, when I tried to make a phone call, I noticed the volume was REALLY low.
I then installed another ROM and had the same issue.
I can hear the sound coming from the back of the phone.. but not from the front.. And then I remembered, the night before, my phone accidentally got cheese wiz on it at the movies last night when my girl dripped it from the box to her mouth. I wiped it off in the dark while the movie was playing.. but maybe cheese had pushed into the tiny holes and solidified?

That's the only thing I can think of.. if the speaker had fried, I wouldnt be able to hear anything.
So what can I use to clean out the speaker? A health dose of rubbing alcohol? (while the phone is off of course)

If you have access to a desktop computer that has a mouse then use the mouse - they eat cheese.
Hot water. Put the device in a ziploc bag speaker down, and hold the speaker under very hot water (100-180F), about the hottest you would sip coffee. Don't let the zipper go under water because they aren't all waterproof. Give it about 5-10 minutes. If you see cheese running down into the bag then pull it out every now and then to clean and examine. After that's done I would take a chance and squirt some hot water directly into the speaker (facing down) to rinse out the remaining cheese, then blow-dry it.

Just take it apart and clean the earpiece yourself. It's just several screws to remove the back cover. You will see the earpiece right away and just pull it away from the front bezel. There's a ribbon cable attached to it so you won't be able to pull it completely of but enough for you to see the front of the speaker. Inspect and clean. There is a mesh over the speaker which should prevent the cheese from getting in there so you may just need to wipe it off and use Q tip with alcohol to clean it and the speaker holes on the bezel.

I was able to fix it by putting a needle through the little pinholes.. there was a little resistance, but then it went through! I had no resistance on the first pinhole, so I then gauged how deep to go with the needle on the rest of the holes so I didnt do any damage.
YAY! If there are any further issues, I will try the steps u guys suggested.

Questions for somebody who has already opened a Nexus 5X (or similar) before

Hello. Some weeks ago I sent my Nexus 5X to the technical assistance with the problem I described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/brick-apparently-reason-t3680715. Now they told me that they won't repair it under warranty because they found traces of liquid/oxide inside it, so they are sending it back to me unfixed. Now I find this odd because the only encounters it has made with water were in the form of small quantities dropped on the screen (the amount you can drop by moving a glass in the air too quickly) which I dried immediately and the symptoms seemed to point to a bad contact. Anyway the repair center provided an image in which seems that actually some liquid has made it inside the case, but I can't recognize which part of the phone it is. Here's the image:

So the questions are: which is the part in the photo? Do you have an idea about how could have a liquid made it inside the phone (I think that is unlikely that it was by dropping something on the screen)? Do you think that the problem I experienced is compatible with a water-induced short circuit or any other damage by liquid?

I actually thought that was a picture of the shipping box before I read your post. I took mine apart to where I could pull the motherboard off, and there definitely wasn't blue tape holding something down. The only thing I can think of is that is maybe the back of the screen. Which would be after pulling the metal frame off.
Check out these pictures. If you go all the way toward the end steps, you can see you get all the way until there is mostly the metal frame inside the plastic and stuck to the back of the display without seeing anything that looks like your picture.
Their picture honestly seems to be an entirely different phone. But of course they may have changed assembly and parts at some point. I would take it apart when you get it back, take pictures and if nothing looks like the picture they sent, see if you can appeal or whatever. Maybe you can just point to the 3rd party teardowns and ask them to point out where they claim the picture is from.

I think it's under the battery, the blue part looks like the battery adhesive but it's normally black,
It was was to get behind there it would of had to enter via the simcard
