HELP! - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Soo I think I was high and accidentally flashed a kernel which I would say not recommended for this device and boom its hard bricked just the led blinks and turns off and starts charging, now I think the wrong kernel flash has burnt my motherboard a little with wrong voltages/clocks, the zip corrupted the device partition layout by flashing the kernel on the wrong partition maybe? then the phone cant boot so wherever I go for service nearby they open the device probably and see its burnt a little and return it back stating the same, I can connect my device to PC and its recognises it as either 900e or QBULK maybe nobody have an idea about edl flashing as its not popular yet so my question now is I'm planning to buy an edl cable from alixpress since everyone's saying the motherboards burnt but it shows completely fine on my PC and also perfectly charges up the device but just doesn't turn on so should I buy it and will edl save my ass or has my motherboard been damaged beyond repair.....?

This helped me,
1) Inititial state is: The phone is powered on and the white LED is on. The phone is not plugged into USB.
2) Hold power button for about ~7-10s until the LED turns off and keep holding power
3) The device will turn on again and shows ZUK Logo for a short time, keep holding the power button
4) You will see the white LED again and the display is black,
5) After ~5s (less time than in 2.), the white LED turns off again. As soon as this happens, release the power button and press and hold Volume Up for 5s
Your phone is now being turned off
I ) Press and hold Volume Up and Volume Down button
II ) Connect your phone to the computer with a type-c usb cable
III) Your Phone is now in fastboot mode (release the keys)
IV) Open terminal (cmd) and type : fastboot -i 0x2b4c oem reboot-edl
V) Now you can qpst firmware.
there are other solution posted, take a look at this

Ugh I think I mentioned my phone is hard bricked I can't access fastboot ,just the led blinks for a milisec and goes off display never turns on not even the logo.
I know about edl and stuff but my question is should I buy an edl cable its like 5$ on alixpress but people say my phone's motherboard is damaged and stuff yet it gets detected by PC, charges so should I buy it?

turn on phone without power flex

how to turn on phone if power flex is damaged
Mine always turns on when I connect it to charger or PC
I think you mean that the power button does not work anymore?
There is one solution:
Connect the phone to the PC in fastboot mode and type in the command fastboot reboot - The phone will start up!
Of course the fastboot drivers on the PC are required before doing this

No fastboot, recovery or download, hard bricked?

Not entirely sure why this has happened but im getting secure boot errors when:
1. I just turn the phone on.
2. Vol up + USB
3. Vol down + power button to get to factory reset.
After that it is the usual black screen with blue and red lights.
I cant use any button shortcuts to get anywhere, is there a way I can get the pc to recognise the device from this state?
I have the same problem. Like and idiot I deleted boot.img, aboot.img and recovery.img and then I realized that I didn't have the backup done. So I disconnected my device from the PC and nothing happened. Just turned off. The weirdest thing is the pc recognize my LG as a "LG Android USB Device". And I can't enter in download/fastboot mode
Any suggestion?
Sailing in the same boat, any help will be great, have a very expensive brick with "secure boot certification" error.

Water damaged OP3 only shows Tux at boot for 3 seconds (hard brick?)

Hello,
I've got a water damaged OP3 (it was in a pool for about 1min). Now after a few days having it in a pot of rice and cleaning the logic board with 100% isopropanol it finally woke up when pressing power button.
My problem now: It just shows up with a Linux Logo (a small Tux in the middle of the screen) and then turns off after 3 seconds. If I connect it with a charger, the screen persists for the moment.
When pressing + holding volume up button, windows recognizes it as "unknown usb device" and screen stays black.
I only need to access the flash to rescue some of my recent (of course not backed up) data.
What do you suggest? Could I try the unbrick the phone or do these symptons point to a irreversible hardware damage?
Is there a way to read the flash without flashing (or with flashing a minimum set of) stock image?
best regards and thanks in advance!

you better avoid doing experiments on op3. Symptoms you have mentioned in your thread, tells that your has been flashed (don't have usb drivers,no os,no firmware). I have faced same problem with my letv le 1s. It is a software problem. Your phone is totally empty. So do contact with any software technician, he uses sp flash tool to wake up the device. Download sp flash tool and follow procedure. If sp flash tool is detecting your device then it means your device hardware is fine.

Have you installed the necessary drivers in Windows for the phone to show up as Qualcom HS-USB..........Loader9008? Otherwise your phone will not be recognised when you do volume press for 10 seconds and connect. Even if it is recognised in this "service" mode, you may be able to unbrick/restore your phone but in the process, the entire phone would be wiped clean. (I know since I have done it).

I've tried to get the phone into EDL Mode (Qualcomm chip), but had no success, phone vibrates and windows recognizes an "unknown usb device" (pressed Volume Up and connected to USB, phone was definitely turned off). But I am not able to get the device recognized as "QHSUSB_BULK" which - afaik - is the prerequisite to install the Qualcomm USB Driver und go on with the unbrick procedure..
I hope anyone got some idea how to get the phone back to life..

Your understanding of the unbrick steps is not correct. Initially the phone will not show up at all or may show up as unknown or something else. It is only when you install the EDL mode drivers and then hold the power button down for 40 seconds and the hold down the volume up button for 10 seconds and connect to PC, will it show up in the EDL mode. Ofcourse you will have to disable the driver signature verification before installing the drivers.
Read the Unbrick Guide again and install the drivers before trying to connect.

Thanks so far, but being a software developer myself I am not a totally beginner. I followed the guide, also read it twice etc.. Also tried another USB cable including the original Oneplus cable.
When plugging it in while pressing Volume Up my Linux laptop reports this:
Code:
[40474.458362] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426231] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40475.426354] usb usb3-port2: attempt power cycle
[40476.710061] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.677934] usb usb3-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[40477.678051] usb usb3-port2: unable to enumerate USB device
On my windows machine the device manager reports "Windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Any suggestions? It seems that the device has lost all firmware etc. and there is no EDL left on the device.
EDIT:
With holding Vol(-) and Power I could get rid of the Tux Penguin and enter fastboot and recovery of the phone.. NAND seems to be okay, can decrypt my internal storage.. The USB port doesn't work in recovery (same error like I had with the EDL mode, unknown device)..
I hope I can now charge the battery a bit and recovery my data...
Thanks so far guys..

Sorry if I had sounded condescending, but I had no way of knowing your level of expertise.
Best of luck for restoring your phone or for saving the data.

No need to worry.. Of course, you couldn't know and there are a lot of people asking dump questions..
My phone is back a life, I guess the data transfer via USB is not working anymore, charging works although I needed to take my Oneplus One's battery (identical connector, just need to take care of the pin layout [+/-]) because my OP3 battery is pretty low and I don't know if I can reactivate it.. It has about 3,4V at the moment and charges very slow..
Finally, if anyone else faces this issue and can't boot his phone:
Try different button combinations and keep holding the buttons several seconds/minutes..

Samsung Galaxy j6+ -

Hello,
I have a similar problem as iddik who is a senior member of this forum who have posted his query on the 30th of October, 2019..
See below is his post...
I have a problem with my phone : Samsung J6+ (SM-J610FN/DS)
I have crached a flashing Rom with Odin and I'm sure it is because of that my phone can't start by pressing the power button.
Now my phone has the message : An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software ...
The thing is that it is rebooting and looping without end every 2 seconds on that green screen with that message ...
Only thing I can do is, with the USB cable connected, when the green screen is up, I can push VOL down + VOL up and I can go in download mode.... Then I can push on VOL up but right after the phone reboot in loop again and again ...
Another thing is that without USB cable connected I can't start the phone.
What can I do ?
First thing, I can't start my phone if it's not connected with the USB cable.
Second thing, when I connect my phone with the USB cable, it starts automatically even if I didn't push the power button and it's looping and blinking and rebooting endlessly.
Also the phone don't seems to know how charging himself when USB cable connected.
Is it a Bricked Samsung phone ?
If it is, how unbrick it ?
When you are in download mode, click on power button and volume down button, After the black screen appears or Samsung logo appears, leave the power button. You will get into Phone main settings. then after that factory reset the phone. Everything will start working again. (This happened to me as well.)

Question Why wont my S22 go into Download mode or recovery mode?

So I have spent hours now looking around for an answer the phone is find my phone locked and I can't remember my pin code. I have done all the tricks with the combination keys.
The usual way to get into Recovery mode is Hold V+ and power until the phone vibrates and you should be in recovery mode release the keys. (Doesn't work)
Iv read that you should have the USB cable connected from pc/laptop while you do the same holding V+ and power button... (doesn't work ether)
and download mode should be very easy just hold V+ and V- plug USB cable from pc/laptop and you should get into download mode by pressing V+. Will only show charging Icon and that's its.
So is it possible to turn off this modes from the manufactor? Or is this a completely new security future? How can you use odin? How can you wipe the cache? If you end up having some issues.
Im going nuts....
No way to get into fastboot ether. So if anyone know why this is happening to me or got any solution I would appreciate it.
Plug in your cable with the phone turned on. Hit Power Off and wait for the phone to fully turn off. The charging logo will show up so let the animation do its thing. After maybe 20 seconds, press Volume up + Power and keep them pressed until you boot to recovery. If the command wasn't recorded in the first place and the phone is still off after more than 15 seconds, let go of the buttons and press them again and keep them pressed until it boots in Recovery

It will not work. How the hell should I be able to cle3ar cache if I got a boot loop ??? They can't just turn off recovery mode mand download mode??? This is so strange even paying for a frp reset but not even he does know what wrong??? Can they turn off fastboot, recovery mode and Download mode on this new phones? Is it because its locked with find my phone? 1 week researching now. It will only vibrate. And my PC cant find my phone anymore worked fine 30min ago nothing has changed... So annoying never seen this happened before every combination with buttons to get in any mode doesn't work only vibrates and go to pin lock screen...
Take it to a Samsung Experience center at best buy. Or send it into Samsung for repair.

thats a solid advice assuming his bootloader/recovery/download mode is fully functional then this advice works, in his case and in mine too it does not work and trying to get to the root of the problem is the key. In my case recovery mode gives error on screen so it may have to do with the way firmware is installed as these modes are not accessible.
have you sorted it out? Its nearly a year onwards =)

This, at index 2:48 minutes.
It needs to be connected to the PC. Another screwy quirk Samsung added recently. Your button timing/sequence matters as well.
On my N10+'s you can go into recovery directly with a restart if you do it right. Otherwise they will puke on you.
