[LG K10 2017 Dual] Quiet call speaker after 8.1 Oreo update - LG K10 Questions & Answers

Hi!
EDIT: It's an LG-M250E
I updated my phone to Android 8.1.0 (software version V20a-EUR-XX) and after the update I couldn't hear anything during a phone call. I noticed that the call volume was lowered after the update, so I pressed the vol up button so it was on max again, but despite doing that it's noticeably quieter than before the update. It's rather hard to understand people, and rather impossible if the environment is loud.
Is there any way to fix this without rooting? If not, how easy and how dangerous is rooting the phone?
Thanks in advance for any help/info!

Lower audio volume since marshmallow

Hello, I have a non rooted Verizon one m8. Since the marshmallow update my speaker volume seems much lower, especially when it comes to ringtones and notifications. I did a factory reset and still having the issue.

Whatsapp audio error

hello, since my nexus 5x is back from service with replacement motherboard, I upgraded to OREO 8.0 and then 8.1 both in stock and now with Twrp and magisk I have the following problem with whatsapp:
-listening to a voice message, away from face, the sound comes out of the speaker at low volume, bringing it closer to the face, the screen turns off properly but the sound always comes out of the speakerphone speaker at higher volume! never leaves the phone capsule !!
the proximity sensor works correctly.
some idea?
I already tried hard reset etc ..
I have the same problem, also motherboard replaced device.
I was looking for a solution and found this thread
the only temporaly help i found is to mod the audio with dolby mod, so i have the audio in the both speaker!
but it'snt helpfull! :crying:
I have the same problem, my phone is stock, not rooted and got the motherboard changed a few months ago. but i've noticed this particular problem just a couple of weeks ago. hope there's a fix!
P.S. the problem occurs just with Whatsapp, i don't have this problem on audio messages in Telegram

Same problem here, only with WhatsApp. I would say the problem is related to Android Oreo, both 8.0.0 and 8.1.0, I have this problem since I updated my phone.
Same problem here but with Nexus 6P.
i don't think so... I really believe it might be related of Oreo update and something with the app itself... otherwise it would have happened in other apps too!
Same problema since I update to Oreo stock 8.1. ?
Same here. After updating to Oreo 8.1
Any Solution? ?
Now in telegram too

Downgrade from Android 8.1 to 8.0.
Search for: developers google factory images nexus
After this inactivate automactic system update on Developer options and keep 8.0 version until Google releases a version (perhaps 8.2 or 9) that fix this problem.

Sound problem after a Call

Hi Guys.
Here is my system
Moto Z2 Force XT-1789-06
Reteu
Oreo 8.0
TWRP 3.2.3-1
Magisk V.17
My problem
After the phone is no longer sound. You just hear something quietly from the speaker. You can increase the volume but it does not get louder. If I now dial a number again and hang up immediately, the sound is back to normal.
So it is also who I connect the moto mod of JBL. After connecting you will hear the sound again from the phone speaker and when I dial a number again and immediately hang up the sound from the JBL Moto Mod
Does one have an idea what that can be and possibly a solution?
Many Thanks

Have a something similar problem. If I hear music over bluetooth the sounds a little bit volume down when I go to some websites, not all. Maybe there are few bugs, oreo came very fast in december. I think we should wait until we can get the Pie-Update very soon. There are all perfect then. Maybe we will by the first people who get it, because the Z3 has SD835 and gets first as flaggship and so the next moto flaggship and most expensive device is the Z2 Force with 799€. So maybe in 2 or 3 months. We don't got 8.1, so we will be at least by the first people who get 9.0. Maybe then battery status of bluetooth sound device is then readable. This feature is roll out with 8.1, what we are missing. Very sad.

Rooted XL - still low in call volume

I've been having low in call volume since this summer, despite wiping, upgrading, etc pixel XL.
Speakerphone volume is fine, bt volume is fine, headphone volume is fine. Just in call earpiece volume(ear next to phone).
I was finally able to root my device, so I thought about trying to fix this again.
I saw viper4android, but I'm not sure this will work for Android P/9?
I also saw some references to system/etc/mixer_paths.xml, however, I don't seem to have that file?
Any ideas?

Low volume during calls

Running on Xiaomi eu forever and now on the latest, but incall volume has gotten so low I can barely hear anything. Speaker volume is fine. I've tweaked an xml file as per instructions I found but it's done nothing to help. Any ideas?

all I can say is I agree in-call volume ear speaker is very low. Thanks for bringing this up. I just got this device after a long time. Any idea if this was an issue on miui11 or 10 android 9?
checked other versions-same issue

The last MIUi 11 20.3.26 also has the same issue. Maybe it is an Android 10 thing? I would like to try Android 9 with the latest available MIUI for that Android level to see if it was an issue there.
EDIT
I checked my Mi max3 with global Android 10-miui 11, and android 9 w/ miui 10 and miui 11-all have the same issue as in Android 10 with miui 12 (eu)...super low in-call volume. The mixer file does not offer many options as say in the past on other phones and older android versions. Wondering if there is another file that needs inspection/tweaking. All "solutions" on internet focus on bluetooth, or speaker or media volume using apps whatnot without addressing real issue (almost every thread digresses from the initial request-lol typical)
EDIT2
downgraded all the way to 8.1 Android MIUI 10 (10.0.1.0 OEDMIFH) same low volume issue. I cannot go further back in time due to the arb thing but guess low in call volume has always been an issue with this device. (recall getting this device back a couple of times over the years but do not recall having the sound issue-unless my memory does not serve me right-since others have reported it (also on EU miui board), it must be a prevalent issue)
Ok, I've solved this, was very simple after! The speaker at top of the screen must've been filled with dust! I ran a toothbrush over it and poked a few holes with a needle and it's working great now
