Hello, I have a non rooted Verizon one m8. Since the marshmallow update my speaker volume seems much lower, especially when it comes to ringtones and notifications. I did a factory reset and still having the issue.

Anyone else experiencing this? I started with an AT&T Sense device, had been running Carbon ROM for a while and always had crackling from the bottom speaker when the volume was anything above half. I know that's a common problem with custom ROMs but I thought converting to stock GPE would fix it. I used the procedure here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589
I thought I supposedly had a fully stock GPE phone now but I still have distorted speaker sound. Is there anything additional I should have done? Flash some firmware or something?
I have the GPE software running on a former T-Mobile sense device, and I am experience zero sound distortion. Have you installed the HTC service pack? Is it possible that the speaker was damaged from the distortion? I have heard of permanent speaker damage when on a custom rom and the volume is out of control.
I have a strange issue on my stock HTC One M8 (unlocked) which has been converted to a GPe using the tools on here.
I am running vanilla, OTA-pushed 5.0.1, and everything works great apart from the audio. If my phone has been on for a period of time, when I make or receive calls there is no audio through the speaker or earpiece, and the phone doesn't ring like it should.
I didn't have this problem with 4.4.4 before the 5.0.1 OTA update, so it feels like a Lollipop issue or some hardware that's malfunctioned.
My volume settings are fine (ALL profile, max. volume for ringer).
When this happens, the only way I can make or receive calls with any audio is to reboot the phone. I've tried airplane mode, fiddling with sound settings... *everything* I can think of... but a reboot is the only thing that solves it.
Does anyone else have this problem or know what the solution may be?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried a factory reset? Random bugs like this are often (although not always) due to pre-existing settings or apps, and may be resolved by doing a factory reset. If experiencing bugs after an OTA, its the first thing I recommend.
After updating to MM using the stock RUU, I'm noticing lower audio volume than I've previously experienced when I was on Lollipop. I was using SkyDragon before. I'm not sure if there was some sort of audio mod in that ROM that I want wasn't aware, so I thought I'd ask: is anyone else experiencing quieter audio after updating their M8 to MM? If so, is there any known way to give a system-wide volume boost?
Note: This question refers to system-wide audio: ringtone/notification, media, and alarms.
Hi!
EDIT: It's an LG-M250E
I updated my phone to Android 8.1.0 (software version V20a-EUR-XX) and after the update I couldn't hear anything during a phone call. I noticed that the call volume was lowered after the update, so I pressed the vol up button so it was on max again, but despite doing that it's noticeably quieter than before the update. It's rather hard to understand people, and rather impossible if the environment is loud.
Is there any way to fix this without rooting? If not, how easy and how dangerous is rooting the phone?
Thanks in advance for any help/info!
Hi,
I have an S4 mini (i9195) that's still going strong and in fact working better than ever since I installed Lineage 17.1.
An elderley relative was looking for a similar small phone and I got her a refurbished i9195i, which I've also installed Lineage on. Everything seems to work fine, but one issue is that my aunt is going a bit deaf and finds the call volume to be low compared to her previous phone, even when its on full.
Is there any way to increase the volume? I've gone through (I think) all the settings in Lineage but can't find any additional volume options in the call settings. Is there any mod/hack that could increase the call volume for the i9195i, and if so, would I need root access to do it?
Thanks
a bit late to this but in case you were unaware she could just turn on speaker right on the phone screen. Or use headphones as I do.
