I have this problem where everytime I get a phone call the phone app pops up and displays a white screen. Then the app freezes and crashes after a couple of seconds. I tried to dirty flash into the newest version of the soldier's rom I am using on my exynos s9, which did not help.
Next step I think might help is trying to delete and reinstall the whole phone app. How do I go about doing this without breaking anything?
Any help with this guys?

My phone has started crashing all over the place. It seems to be mainly core android components such as calendar, contacts and phone. I try to do something like search for a person and I just get a force close. Not every time though.
This started today and the only thing I can remember doing before that is trying to install the htc notes widget multiple times.. it downloads but vanishes on install.. Related?
The phone isn't rooted or customized and I'm running the most recent unbranded update.
Ideas? reboots do nothing. uninstalled everything I can think of..
Maybe just try and do a factory reset, that will probably solve it.
Solved by factory reset in this case...
I am currently using am HTC Evo 4G, just got a new one and havent had a chance to root it so It is unrooted and running the stock ROM. Every time I try to bootup the Netflix App it shows a blank white screen and then pops up a message saying
"Error : Please make sure the device's date and time settings are updated to the current date."
and then the app closes and I am unable to use it
It's operating on the auto-time, and no matter what I do be it reboot, re-install Netflix, clear application data. etc I still get that error.
Any Ideas as to how to fix this? When I run it on wifi it works fine, this only happens on 3G
Try installing it the re install it. Maybe that would work. Or u could use the apk that someone here has posted up. Check in the general section of the forum.
Sent from my HTC EVO Phone, should'nt we all have one?
Hey all,
My note 2 is locking up after I install or update an app in the play store, then restarts. The app update goes through successfully, but then locks up afterwards regardless of what I do next. This happens on both Wifi and HSPA.
My phone is rooted with the stock ROM.
Some apps were backed up and restored via Titanium Backup. I believe it has to do with these apps. Some apps' data was on the SD card. I uninstalled those apps, but it hasn't helped. The crash happens regardless of the app I update or install, whether or not it was restored via Titanium, downloaded for the first time from the market, or an app that came stock on the phone.
I tried clearing dalvik cache, but that hasn't helped. I tried pulling logs via logcat, but I can't find anything useful.
Any suggestions before I start uninstalling those apps one by one?
Thanks!
Here are three log cats from the time of crash.
File 1044pm: Updated an app via WiFi, then opened another app; it froze up on the Loading screen and restarted after about 1 minute.
File 1108pm: Updated an app via Wifi, then pulled down the notifications bar; it got stuck about 90% of the way down and locked up and restarted after about 1 minute. (System starts killing processes around line 32178)
File 1140pm: Updated an app via HSPA, then did nothing; phone restarted after about 90 seconds.
(System starts killing processes around line 28248)
If anyone has enough knowledge to tell me what might have happened, I would be very grateful!
Un root your device

take it back and claim a warranty.
So here is my problem, from time to time the tablet just freezes, only the notification bar is responsive and as soon as I pull it down, It becomes too late and the only wawy I can use the tablet again is to force reboot by holding the power button.
My GT-N5110 being rooted and the Android version is 4.1.2 stock (^^).
If you know where the problem comes from feel free helping me getting ride of it
I've gotten this occasionally. I went through the device the other night and uninstalled a lot of stuff that was in the "maybe works/maybe not, I never use" category, and I've been getting much less of this behavior since.
After installing the multiwindow app (which I like) I found that the camera app would make my device lock up and require a reboot.
Turning off the multiwindow feature (not uninstalling the app) gave me the ability to use the camera again.
Sorry I can't remember what-all I uninstalled.
It happened to me when i rooted with superuser, i unrooted and then re-rooted using SuperSU (same root app, only chose supersu). Never happened to me since.
thank you all,
i'll try uninstalling and unrooting then rerooting it using superSu.
Just for the update : the manipulations above seem to have solved the issue. Thank you again for your help.
So last night I flashed dottat's RUU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...nt/ruu-vzw-kitkat4-4-3-sense-6-s-off-t2867643) to update my phone to 4.4.3 stock. Usually when I run the stock rom, I try to get rid of all the verizon bloat garbage using root app delete and root browser. Maybe this time I got a little overzealous, because I most recently deleted two system apps: verizon location app, and the verizon cloud sync app. Before I did this, everything seemed to run fine. But after getting rid of those two, everything went haywire. Every few seconds my phone app would crash and it would give me the message that "unfortunately, com.android.phone has crashed"and the display kept flickering on and off. Also, I keep getting a poppup for an app called Phone: HBPCG Current Country" telling me I have not input my country, and asks me to select one from a blank list. After trying a few things, I went into TWRP to wipe the cache and dalvik. Fortunately, that seems to have cleared up the com.phone process from crashing every 10 seconds or so. But I still keep getting asked to select a country from "HBPCG Current Country". Has anybody experienced this or does anybody know how to stop it, maybe by deleting another service? I can't remember ever seeing a "verizon location reporting" app in 4.4.2 so I figured it was more garbage that verizon added to the ROM as needless bloat, and didn't think it would affect other phone services.
Thanks for any help on this, it's really irritating me. If I can't get it resolved I figure I might have the run the RUU again.
I should probably also mention that after wiping the caches, I got the "android is upgrading" bit when I rebooted and it said it was optimizing 67 apps. I'm not sure what that was for since I didn't flash any updates or anything, but I figure maybe recaching some system info since I ripped out so much system bloatware?
Now that santod released stock 4.4.3 debloated you should just flash that ROM instead. Sounds like less of a headache to just completely wipe and go from there.

Verizon Location WAS in fact in 4.4.2, and many services of the phone depend on it and won't function without it…
