Any chance to have LTE watch work on AT&T? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

You know that if you buy the "unlocked" version it is compatible only with T Mobile network? ( Samsung Galaxy watch 2018 edition ) Anybody have any idea how to make it work on AT&T network? I have spend 3 hrs in AT&T store trying to figure it out with their sales people and higher technical support, no luck. The embeded sim card (E Sim ) is locked to T Mobile network. Thank you Best Buy for misleading me with "unlocked" advertisement...
Anybody have idea?
Thank you

Can you maybe start with correct Model Name?
Not mm cm or other size color or...
Example...
If I extract CSC from SM-R815U... I see also ATT... taken from:
Code:
CSC_OYN_R815UOYN1ARH1_usr.tar
No idea if this is dead Zombie folder...
I have no LTE device...
Only as hint...
Best Regards

The esim can't be locked to any carrier. The problem you ran in to is due to AT&t dropping the ball and not creating a provisioning profile to use with the Galaxy Watch. BestBuy is correct in their advertising of the watch. You'll have to wait until AT&T decides to support the new watch.

[Q] Roger / Bell Canada unlocked SGS3 phone work with AT&T Network?

From this Wikipedia list...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_III
...it appears that both Rogers and Bell in Canada are offering a SGH-I747 Samsung GS3 which is listed as the same variant as AT&T. However, they are offering internal 32GB models and AT&T is not, and that's what I want. I'm current using an iPhone 4S 64GB and I want to be able to swap sim cards back and forth between phones. Yes, I know I can get a 64GB microSD card but I want 96Gb on the phone (I don't want to argue this point).
So I have a few questions:
1) If I get a Rogers or Bell phone without contract and manage to unlock it, will it be fully compatable with the AT&T network just by swapping sims cards with the iPhone?
2) Will it work with AT&T LTE as well as 3G / Edge, both cell and data?
3) Does unlocking companies like cellunlocker.net actually WORK? Is this legal?
Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide.

3 yes and legal. No warranty void

Sorry, I DID do a search but I could not find anything specifically related to the Canada variants of the Samsung SGS3 running on the AT&T network
Just as a follow-up if I may - How would I then get O/S updates? Will I be able to install updates (like Jelly Bean 4.1 when it comes) from AT&T?
Tony
good question, you will probably get updates through kies regardless, probably end up getting the canadian version (only speaking from experience with the skyrocket) They usually ad an extra letter to the model number to signify carrier, and it will prevent you from flashing an OTA from someone else.
With that said, when an update gets release, it will end up here as well, and you can then choose to flash the AT&T version that way. But thats way down the line.

Thanks. But I'm not quite sure I follow.
What is "kies" and "the skyrocket"? And per your last paragraph, is it possible to flash an AT&T version of the O/S on a Bell / Rogers phone?
BTW - Do you work for Bell Canada? If so, is there any issues with unlocking the phone with a 3rd party unlocker? I don't want to to anything illegal - I just want a 32GB phone that works on an AT&T LTE network.
Thanks,
Tony
From what I've seen and heard, I am confident that the big 3's version is fully compatible with AT&T network.
The model is all the same as I747M. Spec are all the same, so.... I am not worried.
In fact, Rogers uses the exact same network technology to AT&T. All the phone works on Rogers will works perfectly on AT&T as well! As long as it's unlocked.
Prior to my purchase of Rogers' SGS3, I was tempted to buy the AT&T version as it's cheaper.....
The point is probably moot since I cannot get either Rogers or Bell to sell me a phone at full price without a plan and ship it to the USA. They won't do this.
So I probably have to wait until one of these phone is offered from a Canadian customer via another source, like eBay. Any suggestions from anyone on how to get a Rogers or Bell phone shipped to the USA?
Jeez...If only AT&T offered a friggin' 32GB phone!! I wonder when those 128GB microSD cards are coming out.
Tony
You can buy the phone outright directly from rogers but yes, you will need a friend's address in Canada to ship it to. Then have that friend ship it to you in the US. Your other option is to come up - many dealers will sell it to you outright.
If you look around xda, the current methods of rooting and unlocking the phone are not so simple or pretty. In addition to that, the risks you'll have to take and extra costs likely isn't worth the extra 16GB.

Kies is the desktop software that samsung uses to backup your device as well as deliver updates
Now can you use this method to flash an AT&T rom on a rogers device. is unknown. in the past with the skyrocket (otherwise known as the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE) the only difference is the hardcoded model number was I727R while at&t was I727 so flashing which would prevent that.
At the same time, this is xda there are fantastic people that would make a method for you to do that. The key, if you are game to do so is to do a lot of reading, and do nothing without feeling confident in what you are doing.
No I don't work for bell, but if they're here and in need of someone in the Marketing Dept..... However no issues with unlocking on a legal front

I assumed you wanted the free unlocking method. Of course if you're willing to pay for the unlock codes, I stand corrected.
Oh there's a free method? Knew there was for the s1 and s2 but didn't have it for the lte version of the s2.
I would look for the free method usually doesn't involve too many steps.

sim unlock of AT&T in the middleaset

simple question, i have a friend in the US, he is about to get an AT&T contract, and he doesnt need a new phone, if i make him buy me a samsung galaxy s 3, would i be able to sim unlock it to work on networks in the middleast, like Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Israel?
if yes, how can i do that?

Yes you can get an AT&T GS3 unlocked (Just unlocked mine today), If your friend is an existing member of AT&T and in good standing he just needs to ask for the unlock code. I just used the online chat support and told them I was traveling to Europe for a few months and needed my phone unlocked. They needed my IMEI and they gave me the unlock code. The whole process only took 10 min or so. Then I went to a T-Mobile store and ask to borrow a SIM so I could enter the code (You need to put in a non-AT&T SIM card for it to ask you for the unlock code)
Now the question is will the phone work for your network. For that you need to know if it uses the same network bands. Here are the bands that the AT&T GS3 supports: GSM Quad-band: 850/900/1800/1900MHz; UMTS Tri-band: 850/1900/2100MHz; LTE Dual-Band: Band 4/17
Is your networks use them then most likely it will work but the only way to know for sure is to find someone who has used an AT&T GS3 on your respective networks.

thanks a lot, that was very helpful, but my friend is not an existing member of AT&T, he will get a contract soon though, dont know if they will give it to him. any other way to get the unlock code if they would refuse to give it to him?
There are places that sell the unlock codes for a small fee (around $30 I think). I don't know how well they work as I have never used these services.

It is better than the Transformer Prime I had but still has some issues. The screen is really nice though. In the end mine is going back as I have the new Galaxy Note 10.1 coming tomorrow. The S-Pen is a killer feature for me, I'm a student and being able to take handwritten notes on it trumps the Transformer's superior resolution.
I don't know if it can replace a laptop as I never got the laptop dock for it.

CAN i use at&t note ii with different carrier?

I have note ii from at&t which is also rooted. Can i use with different carrier as I am contemplating verizin wireless? Other day, i talked to girl in bestbuy and she has outright refused has no clue of what rooted phone is. Approached another guy, and pointed me to anohter person in another best buy location who can do some real technical advise but reminded me to talk to him in secrecy.
Another option seems to be sign up with Verizon buying real cheap 10$ phone and change the sim card.
Thanks,
No, you can't. GSM networks only with this phone like T-Mobile. Verizon is a CDMA network

As another member posted, with Verizon no. You can use it with T-Mobile, Simple Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, Red Pocket, Straight Talk, etc. Only GSM carriers support this phone. No CDMAs.

You what mate?
AT&T and Tmobile are GSM networks, mostly compatible.
You can use any AT&T phone (even locked) on AT&T or one of their MVNOs, basically resellers of their network. See here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_mobile_virtual_network_operators
If you unlock it, you can also use it on Tmobile, or any of their MVNOs. But Tmobile HSPA+/LTE data networks may or may not match up too well with your AT&T phone, depends on the phone.
Sprint/Verizon use CDMA, a fundamentally incompatible technology from GSM, so it is a no-go.
okay , i switched to tmovile and got an LG G FLEX. Turns out this phone is piece of ****, dropped 2 feet with the rubber case and screen cracked. Now I am going to use the ATT NOTE II with tmobile. Once I transferred the sim card out of that ****ty LG G FLEX's SIM onto NOTE II, it says network locked SIM card. What do I do? should I bring to tmobile and attempt to have unlock the sim card? Or Bring to ATT? Thanks.,

When I moved our Note II to T-mobile, I got an unlock code from one of the websites. Then I took it to T-Mobile and used that unlock code at the store. Lot's of sites that will send you and unlock code and directions to unlock. You can search this forum for "SIM Unlock" and you'll find plenty of threads.
Did you get the T-Mobile "JUMP" for the Flex? If so, then you can have it replaced, otherwise you're SOL.

Importing S7 active to Europe

Dear xda
First off, I absolutely love the concept of this phone: strong, big battery, great hardware,... and I dont really mind touchzwiz (the way it is now).
I'm wondering if it interesting to import the s7 active to Europe or not. As far as my research goes, this is what i found out:
at&t has an unlock service via their website
íll have to pay import duty and VAT (is this also the case if I purchase a "used" phone?)
at&t's s7 active supports all bands, so no problem there
at&t has some bloatware which shouldn't be to much of a problem to remove
updates will suck big time, unless we get root and we update the rom ourselves.
If anyone has info about Samsung introducing the s7 active to Europe, please let me know.
Wondering this myself
Yes it will work. Relatives just went to Europe with 3 S7 Actives we got att to unlock as they were bought outright. Work fine on Wind and Cosmote carriers, and will be sold to friends before they return.
Package Disabler Pro works to disable samsung and att updates and bloatware without root.
Those 3 Actives will pay for mine; sometimes carrier exclusivity is a great thing.
Wondering about the import duty and VAT if I import a used phone.
Anybody know?
There's plenty of post on what to disable manually so no need to pay for an app as it does the same thing. If it's convenience you want then the app will help but there's plenty of post for all provider variants of Samsung phones on xda and reddit.
Import duty and taxes will always have to be paid. If you buy second hand make sure a proof of purchase is included otherwise they will charge the tax of a new phone. You can get a friend to take one home with him/her and they will not pay.
I've bought the S7 Active this week in Switzerland. The phone was unlocked already. Inserted the SIM card from my local provider Swisscom and it works perfect.
Only what I do miss: no BT SAP support.
Hiow did you manage that? Where/who did you buy it from?

No option to do software update with s7 active.
Hi anyone know how to get ota updates on the s7 active in the UK?
You don't. Updates need to be flashed from the sd card or with a computer via odin.
Hello
I've about the same questions for an use in France : how difficult is it, once received (supposively an ATT one unlocked), to update up to last android version oreo and is there a loss of functionnalities if not used in USA..?
Thanks in advance
Julien
I use it regulate in Italy (un-lock of course) Oreo 8.0 G891AUCS4CRG3, I'm looking for a way to improve reception, perhaps replacing the modem software with another modem software
Hello
Thanks @Matad1974 for your reply, so it's possible to use it in Europe without too much difficulties and loss of functions..? Which method did you used (OTA/KiES/Odin) ?
About reception isn't it because there are bands missing..? I've read somewhere using code #*#*4636*#*# you can choose bands, have you try ?
Thanks in advance
Julien
Hello, I bought it directly from the United States already unlocked, it works well, but the reception is a bit poor sometimes, where before with the same card took good, and when I talk to someone my voice sometimes is not very understandable .. because of this maybe changing the modem maybe it gets better.
With this code #*#*4636*#*# it does not do anything to me
I took a ride on the internet and I found this code, I try various settings code *#2263#
I can recommend it for european users as well. You lose some of the newest features I think, like Wifi calling.
Updating is pretty simple but a little inconvenient since the update does wipe all your data. There is a thread in this forum that can help you.
Also you should only buy from a thrustworthy seller, but that's just common sense.
(Changing bands can also be done with an app, for example "Network Switch")

Question E-sim support

Hello anyone have any updates as how will be able to have esim or second physical sim activated on 926w (Canada) bought direct from samsung ,all discussions seems to hit a dead end
I really need at least 2 sim on this phone and getting a international version is not an option anymore
Thanks for any input
Happy New Year !
If you are in the USA, its not enabled. Samsung has told several people that it will be, once One UI 4.0 hits. We shall see
I lost hope on esim support for the U1 variant. Paying 2k for a phone and not having the option made me jump to the pixel 6 pro so I only have to carry one phone. Still holding onto the fold though in case it comes later on. If so, id jump from the pixel back to my fold.

eSIM offers a new way to load carrier information onto your phone without using an external physical chip, enabling you to switch carriers on the spot.

As European customer with Dual-SIM and eSIM Fold3 I'm not familiar, how Samsung and US carriers deliver the Fold3 in the States. According to your post, your fold is a single SIM device, is that right? Or do you have a carrier, that delivers eSIM support only?
In the USA it is one sim slot only. No dual sim, no Esim. On all carriers. Even unlocked

Where eSIM's are used more than anything else in the US is for Watches. I have a Gear Watch 3 (my Watch 4 is BT only) and it ONLY comes in eSIM and my carrier (T-Mobile) didn't even blink and just activated it. So the SUPPORT IS THERE, just too lazy for widespread adoption.
