OP5T - Camera bump durable or scratch-resistant? - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hey guys!
I am going to pickup a dbrand Skin for my OP5T.
So a skin is not protecting the camera bump. Heres my question:
Are there any guys of you using the 5T without a case or with a skin?
How's the camera bump? Are there any scratches around the glass?
I know my OP5 lost it's color on the camera bump (right off the edges around the camera glass).
Does this happen to the 5T, too?
This is what I mean, here you can see the color coming off the edges:

I don't see that on mine but I guess it pretty normal as it is the main edge that touches the surface. But should you worry? According to Jerry on YT camera is protected by sapphire glass so its definitely more scratch resistant than display

U use this one, in my job scratches come quickly, so need some extra protection

Yeah the problem is the Bump itself. I don't think the glass will scratch easily. But the bump around the glass will.. That's why I'm concerned.

Thanks man! I just bought a protector for the camera lens. Maybe it will protect the bump, too. If the protector is thick enough

[REVIEW] matte screen

I said in another matte thread I bought this a few days ago and will post what i thought of it. I used it for about a day and here's my review!
short version: don't bother. It doesn't fit right, had to trim it. major rainbow noise on bright screen.
long version:
I tried to fit the screen for around 20 minutes, couldn't get it right, best i could do is this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I am going to have to trim it with scissors.
When the screen is off, it looks REALLY nice. but the rainbow noise is pretty bad, i tried to take a picture of it but it doesn't really show how bad it is.
Now I know for a fact that not all matte screens are like this, because i have a matte screen on my HP touchpad and it is NOWHERE near as bad, you can only see rainbow effect if you look closely.
in case you need to know where i bought it, so that you don't.
http://www.cellularfactory.com/fulldet.jsp?d=54697&a=62
personally i will still keep it, because playing games with this surface is still way better than without. And when i play games, i don't notice the rainbow problem. But i keep an eye out for a better matte screen.
haven't others posted on this forum about not buying this type of protector for AMOLED screens because of exactly what you're saying...?

yes ... but .. I heard it could cause problems
I have the same case, but in black. It works well to protect the phone. The bundled screen protector is crap though
Silicon case & wifi/gps-reception
I use a much thicker rubber case, which adds more grip to the smooth aluminium and never experienced any issiues.
but I found this Post/Thread and can confirm that the Wifi and/or GPS reception is better without any case!

Hi!
This case is good, I had a bag like case with aluminum protection in it, but after a while It's skin damaged and aluminum makes my phone scratchy!
Now I use such the first post cover + a screen protector!
Sorry for very bad English!
I have the feeling that my silicone case messes GPS signal

[Q] How to make a white one black?

Is there a way for me to make my white sgs3 black? I can get a battery cover, but I want the front black as well.
The cosmetic designer for the sgs3 must have had some strange ideas, the actual black version wasn't even black, more of a scratched dark grey, and there is no way that I'm buying a custom front glass, not with the hair-dryer procedure.
If there isn't a way, I'll be fine, but I really want a black one without using decals.:fingers-crossed:
Just get a case that covers it up... It's a lot less work. Amazon has them cheap. Better protection, looks like you want, win-win.

I want to have the glass on either side of the screen unobstructed, and I want the cosmetic appearance of a phone that isn't covered, What I want is some sort of shaded screen protector, one with the bezel area black and the screen completely clear

sharpie?
What about this?

Or would it be one of those things that would tear after a week?

That would work for the front. As for durability, that depends on the quality of the material they use.
and would it blend in with the screen? I'm going for the effect on the last few nexus phones, not the effect on the s4.

MKBHD Carbon skin

if someone used this?
can you recommend this product?
Great product. Very nice. I used before.
But do note that its a skin. Not a protection case. If you drop, there's no protection

Why do you want to put skin on such a beautiful device? Just get a transparent case.

My original transparent case it's worn.
I'm looking for sth new.
Thank for info Tiongkia!
In my opinion they're really nice. I applied the red one to test how difficult the process is (it isn't difficult)
Here are the results.

Looks great, imho.
Thanks for photos.
No problem, it does look really nice. However it isn't as grippy as you'd think so use with caution.

It's adhesive. But in the application process it's very easy to reapply - The 3m paper doesn't stick to the adhesive.
When peeling off it leaves absolutely no residue as stated.

Oleophobic coating on edge of display

I've noticed on my S10+ that along the sides of the display, the oleophobic coating isn't coated along the edges leaving these waves of duller black.
Anyone else?
I remember posts about these on S9 or S8 so it's not exactly new issue on Samsung's, but just wondering how common it is..

On my previous Sony phone, i sent the screen for replacement because the oleophobic coating was completely inhomogeneous from edge to center and i could see darker/lighter bands and spots.
The replacement screen was not perfect but usable (embarassing screen factory production chain...).
As soon as in remove the film i ll give a look.
Mine doesn't look like that, it's all uniform..
Mine has wiped of the parts of the display where I am scrolling...first time ever on a Samsung phone that this happens. Had s8 s7 s6 s4...never happened
Interesting. I never had a phone not losing its coating . There is one point in time, usually when a year old, when the screen looks all scratched and banged up, but sooner or later it all evens out. Kinda used to it.
Ive never had a Samsung loose its coating. Including my S5. Only ever had an issue with a cheap Polaroid tablet and very slightly on my lg gpad 7.
