I have an at&t note 4 (obviously) which is bricked af. obviously flashing is a no as at&t suck with bootloaders. however, im thinking if I replaced the mainboard with another model or exact model note 4 that would work fine and dandy then id have my note 4 back?

If any of you ran into the constant roaming issues on the Galaxy S3, is this something that may occur on the Note 2?
I went through 2 S3s from Verizon, before a fix was found months later. I'm hesitant to root my Note 2 for fear of losing my IMEI etc...

i have an S3 and the N2 and "so far" no IMEI or roaming issues. did you check the Verizon Note 2 forum for feedback as well?
Yeah I've been keeping an eye out. I may wait it out a month before rooting. Hopefully its not at issue with the Note 2.

Hello, My daughter been playing with my old AT&T Note 2 so I got her a Sim so she could use it. Well it wont get a signal BUT sometimes it will show a AT&T with a G or an E and and I look and it doesnt show a phone number it says unknown but my phone wont get a signal. Could there be something wrong with my phone or could it be on their end? I reinstalled 4.4.2 through Odin and same results.
Thoughts?
Is the sim from AT&T or an AT*T sub brand? The sim works in another phone?
It's right from the store, I went there and got it. I can't see if it works in another phone it's a larger sim and I have all Nexus phones.
The Nexus 4 and 5 use a micro sim which is the same size as the Note 2. You have a Nexus 6?
This is a note 2 i317 and I do have a moto Nexus 6 and it's not the same. That card is one size up unfortunately...
I'm at work but I will double check tonight when I get home...
Well I resolved my issue... I went to cancel the number and the lady gave me a Galaxy S5 for $2.78 with no contract and no commitment since I been a member since 2005.
For 18 mo I used my Note 4 on AT&T then out of the blue they blacklisted the phone and refused to tell me why. It is an AT&T branded phone. Now I have a nice perfectly functional note 4 tablet.
Since it no longer works on a network, is there a way for me to update the unit from Kitkat to Marshmellow?
Instructions are here...
Bummer. Where did you buy the phone? Call ATT maybe they black listed the wrong imei.... If you bought it through PayPal you might be able to connect the sale...

Hey, I'm pretty new to modding phones and have been searching around for a way to get my phone (SM-N910A) to be able to run android 8.0 or higher but haven't found anything. Is it just not possible at this time without swapping out parts of the phone or is there a way I have overlooked?
XDApplePie -- The ATT N4 Model SM-N910A cannot be rooted. That was what two genuine experts told me, but they didn't explain why. If so, I think a custom rom can't be installed.
I too want to flash a custom rom to my ATT Note 4. There are many N4 custom ROMs but I can't find any that support the ATT N4. I noticed that ALL the supported N4s have the Exynos chip but NO SnapDragon N4s are supported. The ATT N4 has the Qualcomm SnapDragon chip. My guess is that for some reason the SnapDragon chipset might the obstacle.
TLDR All because of a locked bootloader from ATT due to government contract; even the bounty on in here didn't have a winner
I myself have moved on to Tab A 8 with SPen and just recently to Note 10+ (can't let go of the SPen)

I just got off my Note 7 after futilely *****ing out AT&T for deceiving its customers. AT&T does say its phones are locked ... but when you ask a Customer Service Rep if the phone can be 'unlocked' after the contract is expired & phone paid off in full, they say 'yes'. But I just learned that ATT means 'carrier unlocked' only! But the bootloader remains locked forever.
ATT never tells customers that BOTH the carrier and bootloader is locked!
I have two classic Notes -- 4 & 7 -- trapped in stock ATT Android 6 -- and just learned I can't custom rom them to Andy 9. Heartbreaking for a Note FANatic.
So, I am looking at an unlocked Note 10 bought directly from Samsung. But ha, ha, ATT's worthwhile features like its custom dailer, sync calls between Note & Galaxy Watch, Spam Call Block, & etc won't work on a non-ATT unlocked Note 10. The greedy corporate assholes.
My daily driver ATT N7 is cooked. Its ATT Andy 6 is forever frozen. Its 3.5 yr old STOCK battery is failing. OEM replacement battery is a hopeless hope. A battery mod is extreme. I am heartbroken. I have to get a N10 ... and probably an ATT variant for the sake of my ATT Galaxy Watch.
Oh boy, I let ATT trap me like a sheep to be sheared.
Hah, Corporate Big Brother at its worst. Locked bootloader even though you pay for the phone
I ran into problems with the note 3, I had 2 us cellulars, with good lcd and bought Tmobile thinking i could use front of phone install tmobile motherboard and antenna and be good to go... boy was i wrong.... the chassis was different and i found out only AT&T and Tmobile phones were interchangable for parts and the CDMA version I assumed were also between eachother,
Have things changed with the note 4? I have a Verzion Note 4 with a bad motherboard and bad charge port. Can I get away with buying a cracked N910T and swapping out the back side of the lcd/chassis (installing, motherboard, charge board and antenna without having to unglue the lcd from the chassis, any other models where I could salvage my SM-910V lcd and get away with buying a cracked model that operates on most of the bands that T-mobile covers exp: maybe sprint. the Verzion I think was just running on Two bands of Tmobile for my note 3 and would loose signal with traveling up north only worked decent in metropolitan areas.
I guess what I am asking is, is the chassis/frame the same part/mold with all n910X? If not, tinkers, what are my options?
Operating on a very low budget of $40 maybe 50 an need a note back in my hands. I still have 2 of the odd ball Us Cellular Note 3 lcd's in a box somewhere. with only a year of use on them.
Thanks....
sm-n910v
I would get another Verizon note 4 that is cracked which covers more bands but I want something with an unlocked bootloader.
Had to downgrade, and spend about 3 hours unlocking Verizon boot-loader and I think i was missing a band of lte on Verizon phone.
I had same problem but with tmobile and bad logic board motherboard due to emmc going bad so I swapped it out for a verizon note 4 logic board. It should be the same swapping the verizon for the tmobile and should fit.
