Hi,
because United Kingdom citizens are for Huawei less valuable than rest of the europe we should press them for updates. I have now 1 April security update.
I have started the new thread on official Huawei forum, pleas bump it up. We should be seen by Huawei

Could not agree more.
When you look at the number of updates the c432 has received its crazy and here are us with no branded SIM free phones and still stuck on 120 and April patch. I won't hold out much hope for Android P on this phone.
So Huawei is a company with so good support that they have deleted my post.
They are laughing at Apple but they are affraid to admitt that they cannot solve problems they made.
So dear UK citizens. No help there. You are 2nd category men for chineses
There is this, similar thread:
https://uk.community.huawei.com/software-17/lack-of-huawei-p20-uk-variant-updates-251
And still we wait while the other model gets yet another update!
What the hell are you doing Huawei!
Reading the Huawei forum for other phones, it seems like the uK just gets abandoned immediately after launch.
Therefore not going to get another Huawei, easy answer ?

That is my thread lol.
I see our EU cousins are getting the beta and we're stuck on 152
152 update arrived today on my wife's phone (O2 UK supplied EML-L09 C782), straight upgrade from 120.
I have an unlocked c782 p20 and in Ireland with Eir. I was not getting any updates in Ireland. I am now in London roaming with EE. As soon as I landed here in London, I got an update (152).
Just got it also yesterday, 152. Bought SIM free from CPW. Looong wait...
finally got pie in the UK however my phone was from argos so simfree and got sick of waiting
i used the Erecovery worked a treat and i must say pie looks amazing !

I bought my p20 from Argos too. Can't believe they sell on c782 not the c432 like my honor 10 was.
How did you do erecovery? Funkyhuawei or firmware finder?

hi m8
i installed firmware finder on phone, looked at android 9 via firmware finder but said not approved so press Erecovery within app but still on 9
made a hotspot on pc really easy too do and entered the DNS and also changed optain ip auto
prior to doing this i removed fingerprint and passcode on phone and also forgot my home router wifi so it would only connect to hotspot
went then threw steps on phone however now showing approved , was then told to connect to pc but while turning on hold power up and volume up but do this while inserting usb
it then gives options on the phone of the firmware upgrade if it shows android 8 i just kept presssing back on phone till it showed 9
once it said downloading at 0% i changed to my home wifi from within app waiting say 20 mins then bang installed
sorry im not very good at explaining
hope it helps as well worth it

Really helpful thank you, and you got the process spot on
I've done it similar before through FunkyHuawei, but they dont have the emui 9 firmware and I dont want to pay them. Will give it a go this evening!
I got the Pie update as a normal system update over last weekend (5th/6th January) and my P20 is unlocked on C782! Might just be your carrier not approving it just yet.
What network you on? I'm on three and was surprised how much crap was loaded on first boot for three. Figured an unlocked SIM free device would have not been subject to network restrictions as much.
I'm on emui 9 anyway through firmware finder and recovery. Was smooth update didn't even lose any data.

Was going to do this before I got the update but my Virgin router wouldn't let me change DNS and I don't have a laptop to be able to create a WiFi hotspot. Tried creating a WiFi hotspot on my tablet but it's a data only hotspot not a WiFi one.

Huh.. well then I guess I lucked out ?
I think you might be one of the lucky beta testers.
I got the update. Last week.
ATT site is live with the update, still nothing for me and software update check doesn't show anything.
What am I missing here?
Ok, I need advice....I'm in Japan for work I had to change to a local sim to get coverage, I don't have the ATT sim with me. How do I get the OTA update?
I believe that is the reason the update isn't materializing.
Anyone in the US get the update yet
Has anyone on AT&T in the US with an H871 received the Oreo update yet. I'm on the east coast and nothing here

I chatted with ATT today and they said it was an issue with them, that my phone should have gotten the update. I have to wait for 24 hours to see if it updates they will email me tomorrow to see if I got it, though I have to check it manually. I suggest anyone that didn't get the Oreo update to chat with att from the website and they will get it for you.

Some of you have already received the Oreo update ... or for some reason AT & T stopped the updates
A few days ago I bought a LG G6 H871 (AT & t) and I thought that I was going to get Oreo immediately and still nothing happens ... I have read several forums and some are updated but others are not.
So I never received the update after AT&T when they said they "pushed" it to my phone. Then today chatted them again for 30 mins they couldn't do a thing. A supervisor called me and spoke to me for 10 minutes asking for the build number the IEMI. His final response was that AT&T did not push the update just the base band version so the phone can receive the update from yep LG. He gave me LG'S 80 number spoke to them they said Google actually pushes the update not LG.. I said so why did you open this big deal update center then she didn't have an answer. What a joke. I'm still thinking of moving onto an iPhone as much as I hate saying that but the Android updates just don't cut it and with locked boot loaders what's the diff. AT&T said the update has been available for the G6 (H871) since June 5th... SO WHERE THE HELL IS IT, I give up

Since June 5 and nothing happens, incredible! I tried to use LG BRIDGE, but I received a notification '' Verification error '' so I do not even use LG BRIDGE to update it, it's for these reasons that phone companies and manufacturers lose prestige, I think that just like you will use IPHONE once again . less problems.
As the headline states, I bought a Fold on launch day here in the U.S. My only option was the AT&T version as best buy was allocated only 6 units for the entire state on launch date and they were all AT&T models. Well, I am a T-Mobile user so I got the phone unlocked by a third party. Cost me $55 and had to hook it up to my PC but the phone was unlocked in less than three minutes. Phone is awesome in every aspect and although I still have bloatware and the AT&T logo on startup, the phone is amazing.
Problem: I see articles and postings about updates to the phone. Security patches, firmware updates that happened in October and now November yet my phone get none of them. Did some research and read a lot of back and forth over whether it was Samsung or AT&T or T-Mobile as to who would provide updates. Well, T-mobile doesn't carry the phone, AT&T will not update an unlocked phone of theirs and Samsung smart switch also does not work with AT&T branded, unlocked phones.
So here I sit with August 2019 security software and old firmware. with no way to get these updates. It's been ages since I rooted (or Jailbroke) a phone but it seems like this might be my only option unless you guys can suggest a way for me to get these updates. I would prefer to find a simple easy way to get this done over rooting but I don't even know if there is such a thing.
Any help or insight appreciated, thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Change the s/w from AT&T ("U") to unlocked ("U1"). There's a thread in this forum with the files you need to download and instructions elsewhere on XDA. I changed my AT&T-branded Fold from U to U1 the day I set it up and have received two updates directly from Samsung. I'm currently on SK1 with the November security update. Leaving the phone running AT&T s/w prevents you from running call and messaging continuity and Hiya for caller ID and spam protection which are both pretty cool.

Ok, I read every page of this very long thread and am more confused than when I looked at the initial page. It has been several years since I have used odin to flash a phone. Would someone be kind enough to put a link to the latest U1 firmware and Odin download so I can get off to the right start?
I have AT&T Fold unlocked on the original firmware as I never received any OTA updates. Can I go straight to the latest one or do I need to do it in steps?
Much appreciated!
Edit: Just realized this was not posted on the long thread I was referring to, but still valid questions. There was another thread that was 14 pages long which I have been posting on as well.
I am having trouble getting the flash to work. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I recently purchased a LG G8 (LM-G820UM) from China. It is an AT&T branded phone, but works perfectly with my current UK SIM. It is running Android 9 (Software Version: G820UM10m), but when I try to update to Android 10 it says, "Current software is up to date."
I am used to updating the firmware on Samsung tablets and didn't realise the firmware would be tied to AT&T, so when I tried to install the firmware from another carrier using LGUP, I was surprised to find it just wouldn't work and always gave up before it hit 10%. (I tried using the LG Flash Tool, but couldn't get it to work on my Windows 10 PC.)
Reading through the forum, I appreciate buying a pre-paid AT&T SIM might - only might - work, but I'd much prefer to source an AT&T Android 10 image or else use software that will let me install an Android 10 image from another carrier.
Given that an AT&T Android 10 firmware does exist, I'm surprised it is not available to download from somewhere. Or that I can't just install a non-AT&T firmware.
Does anyone know of any further avenues I might be able to explore?

I saw on here if you remove your Sim card, then factory reset and don't connect to anything including wifi, so skip everything to get to the home screen. Then connect to WiFi and check for updates it works. I did it and boom, I had to go through about 5 updates, but it all worked. Not sure if it will work outside of the US, but it's worth a shot.
That sounds interesting. I'll give it a go and let you know. I am in the UK, but perhaps a US VPN might do the trick if it doesn't work for me.

Good luck, it seems there some issue when it has a connection and it looks for updates during the setup and it breaks updates afterwards. So this is a workaround. I did all the updates consecutively, then rebooted and inserted my sim.
Gave it a good go. Full reset, skipped the intro pages, connected WiFi, but Software Update said I was up to date. Installed ThunderVPN (for apps & browsers), set it to USA and tried again, but same story. Then tried the whole thing again from scratch this time making sure I was on a US VPN prior to initiating the Software Update, but it was still the same ("Current software is up to date").
It is so disappointing not being able to bring this otherwise near-perfect phone up to the latest Android version, but I'm too short of cash to spend £10 on a SIM that only has a small chance of working in the UK. I'll just get on with my life and check back every now and then to see if one of the resident geniuses has come up with a fix.

No, I never did. Planning on checking back every few months or so to see if there is firmware available, but I rather doubt there will as AT&T seem to have the phone tied down pretty well. On the plus side, coming from an Xperia Z5, Android 9 is excellent, especially battery life, and although Android 10 adds a desktop mode, I've heard of some people having problems, so I'm not worried I'm missing all that much. So many tech issues, so little time.

I'd suggest looking in the 'guides' forum and following the 'how to cross flash' guide. Essentially, if you're using an at&t rom outside the us, then it's almost certain you're missing a few of the bands needed for you to have full coverage. It might be working, but there are probably some bands you're not getting.
So, the software / rom for your region is always the better one. If you successfully cross flash to that rom, you'll be better off.
I haven't received any OTA since I got the phone in May. My son's phone is stuck on July. I called AT&T and they said they sent an update to my phone, but it keeps saying it is up to date. It just comes back and says up to date. Any tips?

The issue is you cannot get AT&T firmware to flash. One of the AT&T features I need (only one actually) is Wi-Fi calling because I don't have great service inside the house. Outside the house isn't an issue.

Exactly it needs wifi. You can manually force it to look for updates in settings too when you have wifi.
AT&T also has special "update cell towers" can't recall what they call them. They're few but they are there.
All that said updates are overrated and can cripple your phone especially AT&T's junk.
You been warned.
I've run dinosaur Android's for years and never did a forced reload due to virus or trojan.
I'm still on Pie on my 10+ and it likey will never be updated as it runs well and looks great.

Well ATT suck un updates I have s20 ultra on ATT and I receive sep 1 update and I cheeked everyday for the updates and I gut it like 3 to 4 days ago. If you use smart switch it will always say is up to date the best thing y can say is just wait a bit more maybe in your area is a bit delayed in updates and also use the ATT sim card that was included in the box when you gut the phone that's my best advice since is hard to find the ATT Firmware's online
I used this post to flash with AT&T and I am now getting all the updates.

It's been said for a few times already that only the USA & Canada got the official rollout, rest of the world will have to wait until the December update.
On top of that, Google always does time-shift rollouts, meaning even if you are in the right region, it can still take up to 7 or 10 days until you get it.

I'm in Canada and didn't get the update. In fact no one did.
As per Google, USA & Japan only.
Can confirm no update in Canada
