Has anyone managed to run gear manager after changing the rom? Whenever I installl the app, I get a warning that my OS has been modified and the app is not compatible. The app clearly sees my phone's a samsung device. I've tried changing device id, but to no avail. Any way around this?

there's two ways
1. Change your device ID (like you said
to change it, you must root your device,
then use app root explorer and go to system folder,
open build.prop, change your device id in there
2. Share your app using Bluetooth
if you had the app on your tab, just share it via Bluetooth,
How's it going. I have a rooted fire tv on latest prerooted firmware. I have an application called tinyCam monitor pro. This application worked previously, however, I think that I relocated it to my flash drive on the fire tv via Link2SD, and then maybe changed where the drive was mounted. I'm only taking a guess at what happened, as now when I attempt to run the program I get,"Cannot Open App - The installed version of tinyCam Monitor PRO for IP Cam cannot be opened. Please check for an available update on your library." I also can't uninstall it. It doesn't show up under "Manage all applications" to uninstall, nor anywhere else I can think of looking. When I try to hit the uninstall button under the main Apps heading from the Home screen, the uninstall button disappears when I click it, and nothing happens. There is no trace in Link2SD either. I contacted the dev of the app and they told me to make sure I have the latest firmware. So, I was wondering if anyone had any actual ideas why this would occur and how I could fix it? Thanks for your time.

If you cant uninstall it than maybe you can just delete the file from system, side load ES file apk and install it. I had a similar problem with SuperSU which i wasn't able to Launch it or uninstall it so i deleted the file and side load SuperSU again OR you can try to uninstall using one of the adbfire utility tools.
Becareful what you delete!!!
Thank you
I've been trying to get my Ativ SE working on Windows 10. I can get it to 10166 and 10512, but wifi does not work. The only way to get the wifi drivers to work is a hard reset. This method works, but the only apps which are installed afterwards are the core functions (ms-wifi, bluetooth, etc) and those which are mandated/default by Samsung and Verizon. The Settings hub is missing, so I can only get to settings which are able to be accessed by holding them in Action Center. When I try using any missing features (like Settings), I'm prompted to download them from the Store. Unfortunately, the Store is not installed either.
Is anyone able to extract an xap for the Store or capture a cab for the Store? If I am able to deploy the Store, I think I'll be able to resolve the other issues.
Is it possible that the store is on the device, but at a different URI than the OS is attempting to access? If someone could make an app for me to deploy that had links for all known Store URI's (windows 8 and 10), that would be great.
EDIT: Another thing that would be useful is the URI for Update.
When trying to install floating apps on my na shield pro tv 2017, it comes up with a screen called "Required permissions: floating apps needs two important permissions. Without them, it cannot work properly". The permissions are as follows:
1) grant access to storage. (This is easily done with no problems.)
2) enable drawing over other apps. (This is where the problem lies. When I click the enable now button a message box comes up saying, "Internal Android Error occurred. Configuration screen `Draw Over Other Apps` cannot be opened. Please open it manually and enable `Draw Over Other Apps` for Floating Apps. How can I do this on the new Nvidia Shield Pro
TV? Can someone help me with this problem?
I think you can enable this in developer settings - dont hold me to that though
Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same problem on my Shield 2017.
Me too ! having same issue. Installed older version seems to be working ok.

So when I went to Google Play store to down load Android Auto it states my unit is not compatible. Didn't know why it's not compatible so I figured why not load it and try it.
I'm running Android 8 Hal build. It compress with the ability to run/install APKs.
Did a Google search for Android Auto APK using chrome in the head unit. Found a version, downloaded.
Opened that APK install program, opened the folder with the download in it, installed.
Low and behold it worked.
I use my phone as a hotspot and bluetooth connection.
Hope this helps others.
