"SD card removed unexpectedly" loop error - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

I had a severe battery drain, so I decided to disable some process (visionprovider and some other samsung crap stuff). Battery drain has gone, but now I am experiencing some annoying issue: SD Card is being removed unexpectedly. It happens more or less after I leave the phone untouched (maybe when it enters Doze mode); after the following sleeping period the phone recognizes the SD Card, then it disappears again, and so on. It seems that it continuously mounts/unmounts the SD card every time it goes in Doze/deep sleep/screen off mode.
Here's the list of processes that I've disabled: it doesn't seem there's something related to mount/unmount SD card:
package:com.osp.app.signin
package:com.samsung.faceservice
package:com.samsung.android.game.gamehome
package:com.dsi.ant.service.socket
package:com.samsung.cmh
package:com.samsung.mlp
package:com.dsi.ant.sample.acquirechannels
package:com.samsung.android.aircommandmanager
package:com.sec.android.gallery3d
package:com.samsung.android.hmt.vrsvc
package:com.samsung.android.bixby.es.globalaction
package:com.samsung.storyservice
package:com.samsung.android.game.gametools
package:com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplus
package:com.google.android.webview
package:com.dsi.ant.server
package:com.samsung.visionprovider
package:com.samsung.android.bixbyvision.framework
package:com.samsung.enhanceservice
package:com.samsung.android.bixby.wakeup
package:com.samsung.android.bixby.plmsync
package:com.sec.android.emergencylauncher
package:com.samsung.android.dlp.service
package:com.samsung.android.visionintelligence
package:com.enhance.gameservice
package:com.samsung.android.bixby.voiceinput
package:com.samsung.dcmservice
package:com.samsung.systemui.bixby
package:com.samsung.upsmtheme
package:com.samsung.android.bixby.agent.dummy
Any ideas?
PS: I thought it was Greenify's fault, but I've uninstalled it and the problem is still there.

[Q] [a2sd] app settings not saving

Hey guys
I'm running black bean 3.1.6, and before that I was running energyRom. I have my SD card partitioned for use with some of my apps, but any time the RAM is cleared (battery dies or complete restart) I lose a few settings. Namely, my keyboard doesn't stay. I think it's related to having the apps on my SD card, but I can't figure out why it doesn't save some settings. On the other ROM it was acting funny too. From cleared RAM, it wouldn't even load the apps that were on the SD card until I warm rebooted.
Any ideas? Thanks

Random Shutdown/Restart

Well here's the deal guys... I've had my INC for almost 3 years now and I think it may be on its last leg. Over the past few months, I've been experiencing a weird shutdown issue every few minutes. My phone will occasionally turn off, whether it be in sleep mode or when in use. If in use, the "Android is shutting down" message will pop up 5% of the time and the other 95% the screen just shuts off. There are no particular apps that cause it, since I could just been staring at the home screen and it still happens. If the phone is locked, the phone will not come back from sleep mode. The only way to get the phone working again is to remove the battery. I have multiple batteries and they all seem to cause it. This happens with both the SD card in and without it.
I've been using the latest nightlies of CM7 and the last 3 updates have been randomly shutting off. Frustrated and fed up, I decided to try Pon's CM10, which worked for a few hours and then started the shutdown again. I've been using the correct updated versions of Incredikernel with these.
Things I've proven that do not fix it...
-Removing SD card
-Removing Apps from SD card
-Removing battery for a few hours
-Complete reformat
-Wiping battery stats
-Installing different versions of CM.
-Removing all apps except the stock ones
-Turning on/off GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi, 3G
None of these worked and I am out of options... There are no signs of any Android OS errors that I know of. Is my phone ready to die? Please help guys! The current line of phones are not interesting enough for me to upgrade and I want to make this thing last a few more months.
*Update* I read somewhere that Pandora could be causing it. I uninstalled and so far it is staying on. 20min and counting.... I'll post an update soon.

If it does it again just try and underclock

I'd try a different SD card. That doesn't work, try to RUU back to stock and try again. Grab anything useful from alogcat?

mmc1 and mmc2_detect?

What are these, They seem to be using quite some of my battery.... any idea
I searched a bit and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676&page=19
I get these too but they only wake my phone for about 2 minutes of total time out of the 30 hours I use it
"mmc0_detect, mmc1_detect, mmc2_detect: I'll be honest, I have no idea what causes these. Fortunately, they seem to be minimal, so I've never wasted much time worrying about them. polarbearno, however, has had a great deal of experience with this wakelock, and traced the cause of excessive activity here to a faulty SD card.
To fix: Unmount your SD card and pull it, then reboot. Might want to clear cache and Dalvik for good measure. If your problem was caused by a faulty external SD, this should solve it. If your problem was not caused by a faulty external SD, we're back to the original solution of "good question".

SD card + Notification/Ringtone on SD = Phone stays awake?

First couple of days I had my M8 I noticed that my phone would sleep/hibernate like normal for a while then suddenly stay awake for the rest of the day until I reboot. Then after a while the phone would stay awake again. Checking on that behavior again I notice the time it stayed awake was approximately the time I would receive a phone call. Looking for wakelocks I did notice [d.process.media] was listed as using 148mb of data but it didn't seem to be keeping my phone awake. I moved my ringtones/notification sounds to my phone and ejected the SD card and used it sans SD card the last couple of days. Now my staying awake behavior is gone and my battery life has improved. Not sure if something was funky with my SD card, or what but the behavior is gone. Going to clean it off and put it back in and see if I see that behavior or not. Wasn't sure if anyone else has seen something similar with their phone staying awake constantly.

Android System is using more battery than my screen.

Why is my android system taking so much power all of a sudden? Worrying.
Welcome to the sad party We have been discussing this in the OTA update thread as well. I've never had Android even close to Screen usage before. Now it's constantly there. And sadly no root for greenify or wakelock viewing.
Mine just started this after a very long charge. Plugged it up at like 9:00 am and it just finished about 10 minutes ago, very strange. It seems to be going back down to normal though.....
It's been higher since the last OTA update. Hopefully it will be fixed when lollipop gets released.
That happens to me on the original build maybe once a month. I just restart my phone and it goes back to normal.
Android System battry drain after OTA update
I haven't read through the other forums, so forgive me if I'm suggesting something that's been suggested elsewhere, but I was able to fix mine by disabling HDVoice..
Settings>Data Usage>Mobile Data>Enhanced 4G LTE Services
After I unchecked that I'm back to where I was pre-OTA.
All of you having Android System running at high %'s, can you answer two questions?
1) When you go to Settings> General > Battery and tap on the graph, does your Awake graph show as mostly awake (solid blue lines) when the screen is off (no lines next to Screen On)?
2) Do you have an external SD card in your phone?
I'm asking because I'm also having high Android System battery drain. My phone is also always "Awake" according to the battery graph (in other words, it isn't deep sleeping, so my battery is draining faster than it should). I just removed my external SD card for a while and now my phone is magically deep sleeping. Well, obviously not using your SD card is not an option for many people... myself included... all my music is on mine! So I'm trying a few things to allow me to keep my card in and to have my phone deep sleep. I'm just wondering if there's any similarities between me and anyone else.
UPDATE:
OK, so what I did worked.
If you have an external SD card, then do this:
1) In Settings>Applications>SD Card, I moved any checked apps to internal storage.
2) I then copied all my music, photos, videos, etc to my computer.
3) Then, with the SD card in the phone, I went to Settings>Storage and formatted the SD card.
4) I then copied the files from (2) back to the card.
After that, your phone should not only sleep better, but Android System should begin to move down the battery usage list after many hours. Just over night, it went from about 38% usage to 20% usage and is now #2 on the list. Cell Standby is now #1. By the end of the day, I expect it be even lower.

awake matches almost identical to screen time,
And i haven't tried the sd card one, although i've gotten a new one.
Anyone try this with success?

It worked for me (obviously), but it wasn't exactly meant to be a solution for everyone. Eventually, Android System became the highest drainer again, but on Lollipop, it no longer is. Again, that's for me.
Try removing the card and leaving the phone asleep (screen off and not doing anything) for a few hours. If the awake time decreases dramatically, then it may be the SD card causing problems.
