I have a Motorola Z2 Force (T-Mobile), full stock, unrooted, and fully updated. For the last about month I've had this phone, the Kernel has been draining the battery. I don't have the EXP to flash TWRP to this phone (Caused my phone to bootloop 3 times) so I wiped everything and went back to stock. The Wakelocks don't even let my phone go into doze, so when idle, the battery drain is still really bad. I have years of EXP with Android, but this phone has me at a loss.
Same!!!
I have this same issue. Anyone help?
*Bump*

Hi All
I know that there have been many threads on the battery drain issue but i wanted to see if we can get to the bottom of the problem. I have emailed SE support but they fob me off with the usual patronising answers.
Anyway I have an Arc, and i had flashed the firmware to 2.3.2 (3.0.A.2.181), and rooted it. Battery Life on this was fine, 1.5 to 2 days.
I have since flashed 2.3.3 (4.0.A.2.368), 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.42) and 2.3.4 (4.0.2.A.0.58) With all of these firmwares my battery life is terrible, not lasting more than 12 hours, even if i put the phone in airplane mode during sleep. Using Battery Monitor, i see that with nothing running the phone is using at least 70mA. So obviously i tried to reflash back to 2.3.2, However doing so brought up the 0% issue. So i reluctantly went back to 2.3.4. I have also tried reflashing the baseband to 36, following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382657. However no change to the rubbish battery life. I have used things like autostart to stop apps from automacally starting, turned off bravia engine, auto network search, turn down brightness and everything, but still the phone uses up 70mA. So what is using up all this power? Do i have a faulty phone and should take it to the a service centre to get it replaced? Or will a replacement phone with 2.3.4 still have the same problem? Does anyone know which of the "essential" running services is using up al this power? the phone is rooted using zergrush, but the bootloader is locked.
This battery issue is really making me think twice about gettin another Sony phone, which is a shame as i have had one for the last 7 or eight years now...
Many thanks
Bolo
Is this battery behaviour normal on the later firmwares? Have I posted this in the wrong forum? Just want to know what my options are to try to fix this battery prob. My wife's sgs2 uses around 7mA during airplane mode! So the battery drain is really rubbish on the Arc!!!:-(
got the same problem, tried all the tips found in this forum, even doing battery calibration didn't help.. not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

i think that somethings wrong with ur phone. .
try to contact SE Service Centre, because i had no problem like this when using Arc even with it Overclocked. .
Have u tried this?: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312398
I upgraded my stock rooted GB SGS2 to ICS with Kies on the 12th. Battery life has been awful compared to what I got on stock GB (15-18 hours with normal use) I'm now losing about 10% an hour just sitting idle. If I use my phone at all it won't last 8 hours before the battery is at about 10%.
I did a factory reset and re rooted two days ago and I made it about about the same amount of time before the battery was almost dead again. Last night, I did a factory reset and flashed T989UVLE1_T989TMBLE1_T989UVLE1_HOME.tar with odin then rooted and still about 8 hours after I took it off the charger it's at 20% and I've barely even touched it today. I do not have any apps or widgets installed that I didn't before on GB. I didn't restore the apps with Titanium Backup, I manually downloaded each one from the Play Store. I've wiped the cache and fixed permissions in an attempt to get S-Voice to stop crashing.
Another problem I have is issues with bluetooth routing calls through my cars bluetooth. When it is paired my notifications skip and sputter when they go off.
To the best of my knowledge when I Odin'd back to stock ICS that wiped everything out but since I had an issue with my old Vibrant having remnants left over when flashing ROMs I'm wondering if this could be a similar issue. I usually flash with CWM and not Odin Is there something I should be doing to completely wipe everything out and go to stock ICS? Most all comments I've seen say battery life is even better than GB. Mine has gone the opposite way. Help?
Download TDJ's superwipe (theres a thread for it in the dev section) and run it, THEN Odin the stock tar file.
Thank you!
I notice it says after doing to the super wipe to stay in recovery and flash the ROM. Should I find a flashable zip of ICS or is it ok to use Odin after?
I flashed the zip and went ahead and went into download mode and odin'd stock ICS. Google is actually restoring my apps this time...it didn't the first three times so, so far so good. Thanks for the help.
10 hours with very little use and battery us at 25%

D2H, Question for you... You're rooted, have you tried calibrating your battery yet? The only reason I ask is because I was stock unrooted when I upgraded to ICS and my battery life too sucks BIG TIME. Maybe 5hrs, 6 definately tops. I even tried factory reset (which is questionable), removed the battery, let it drain completely and then pulled the battery again and full charged. Still on pace for 15%+ /hr. with light usage.
When I rooted my Sensation I used a battery calibration app and that improved my battery life by leaps and bounds.
I was thinking of rooting my SGS2 just for this.
No, I've not tried that. I used to do it with my Vibrant and never really saw a big difference. I also saw a post here somewhere on here stating that calibrating the battery was a myth.
I may as well try it though. Otherwise I'm going back to GB as this battery life is unacceptable.

D2H, so whats the status?
Myself I finally bit the bullet and rooted (OMG SO SIMPLE compared to HTC). After rooting I downloaded "BatteryCalibration" from google play (Same app used on my Sensation). After a full charge yesterday, I calibrated...to TRY to drain my battery down completely for the next charge I turned on BT and GPS. This all happened around 8pm last night... Well its 5:08pm next day now and my battery (with BT and GPS still on) is only at 68% now and that's after some surfing, video watching, games.
I have to say give this a try before going back to GB.
Come to find out there was a beta release of HD Widgets that downloaded when all of my apps restored. That was the culprit. I'm back to 16 hours of battery life.
Cool! It's going on 10:30 pm here and my bt and gps are still on and I'm at 29%... This includes more Internet browsing, games, phone calls and Txt msgs. No charging since yesterday. I won't be surprised if it's still on tomorrow morning.
Sideloaded the ZVG update a few days ago, did a factory reset, and set up my phone. Everything was working great and I loved the update... until I noticed yesterday that the phone now takes much longer to charge. Previously, using a 2A charger, it would charge at roughly 1% per min, but now it seems to be more like 1% per 2-3 mins. Not sure if this is on purpose to extend battery longevity or an actual bug in the update. Either way, it's kind of annoying. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
Yes I've noticed it, but I think if you were in another non stock ROM. You would have modified kernel that may have had a quicker charging installed in it.
I noticed the same thing yesterday. I have been on stock rom, with only root, since the announced that we were getting LP. Another thing that I noticed, my battery life has gone to hell in the last couple of days. As an example, I unplugged my phone this morning at 6am (100%) and by 8:15am my phone was down to 65% and I was barely using my phone during that time. A couple of co workers have the G3 with Verizon and they were telling me that their battery life had gotten bad after the update. So for about a week and a half (I updated on the 27th) everything was running normal and now charging takes longer and battery last shorter. My next step is to back up my data and reset the phone.
I just did a search on this problem. It seems that all of the LG G2s & G3s are having the same issue since the Lollipop upgrade regardless of carrier. LG needs to release a fix for all of these issues ASAP or their current users won't stay LG users for much longer. I for one was planning on getting the G4 but if they don't fix this problem soon I will be forced to change phones before it is released on Sprint.
I'm not having any of these issues.
I've had my phone unplugged for just under 15 hours and it went from 100% to 63% in that time with a SOT of 2 hours. Granted I do Greenify practically everything and only use the radios when I need them
It does seem to take longer to charge but that is not an issue for me.
Did you sideload ZVG or take the OTA to ZVG? There are some people who have said that the OTA is what is causing problems... I sideloaded ZVG BTW.
Hello,
i just bought my G4 Dual (818P) 3 days ago
when i first used it i don't think i charged the battery properly now it doesn't last too long
it drains a bit quick
Also it's overheating , just when i start using some apps it starts heating not even games or big apps
my phone is rooted btw
how can i fix it ?
i already tried factory reset & battery calibration and still the same
You have to recharge your phone some times, then it's (normally) getting better. If not, you have the same problem as I have... But just wait a week or two
did you get it fixed ?
Up ! anyone please ?
same for me. my 818P (indonesia) is getting HOT and often restarting. So I used kernel adiutor from play store, and disable 2 BIG procie, and set to powersave.
I just bought my Poco F3 2 months ago and instilled PE+ 2 weeks ago. But recently, It drains 30~40% of the battery overnight and I have no idea why. I've turned off AOD and do not have apps or programs running in the background. Although I've not enabled the battery saving mode. Still, it shouldn't drain that much better since it's a new phone. And I cannot find any youtube video talking about this particular issue. Please help me if anyone knows how to fix this issue. Thanks for your listening.
From my experience it's a kernel issue.
If you used the stock kernel , which is no where except in the stock rom, overnight drain will be like 4%
I used stock rom with custom kernel , and the result is 20% overnight drain.
So finally i had to stick with stock rom with magsik only.
