This is partly my fault, but surprised to see the screen seemingly scratch so easily.
For the couple of weeks I had this phone I had it in an comparatively thick rubber / gel case I had bought from eBay after deciding the gel case in the box did not offer enough protection if the phone was place down flat (has no 'lip').
Anyhow have been enjoying the phone alot, and just for today I though I would go with the sleeker case (from the box) as it's a slightly nicer fit in my shirt pocket.
Just been in McDonalds and just wanted to see how the case coped, if there was actually a tiny tiny lip, put the phone face down, on a very clean table, slide it a few centimetres a couple of times, seemed that there was no 'lip' affect (phone just slide on its face).
Then turned it over, carried on, and ten minutes later noticed a pretty bad hairline scratch (well two) about a centimetre long.
Feel pretty daft, as I really liked this phone, and I normally take real care, but that included case was much sleeker and comfortable to use than the chunky one. Feels like I have permanently damaged it (scratch won't 'wipe off', and can physically feel ithe groove of the scratch).
Why the heck.didnt they add 1/2 a millimetre lip to the darn case (?)... Ah Well.
I bought it off a UK eBay seller, I believe I have 28 days if anything is wrong with the phone to return it, but something like this they would probably blame me, I guess ??
I may just keep it and get a glass screen protector, (as you may tell I have never had something lhappen ike this before, rather peeved).
Would advise not keeping this phone in pockets with keys, etc, as the glass seems really delicate to me,
Anyhow any advice welcome
I blame you. This is 100% your fault. Don't return the phone.
This would not be covered because it is classed as accident so you really would need insurance to cover this and even with it you would end up paying excess charge so you might as well just buy another phone.
Not sure how you can blame the phones glass all the info states this has gorilla glass so it's not like a lot of their older phones which was just standard

Fair enough, I was thinking that may be the case, just was unsure as never had this kind of thing before.
Have put the phone back in its chunky case, and will just try to get used to the scratches for now.
Thanks for the input.
Just got a gel(but hard) case with lip and not bulky from gearbest.its carbon on the back.seems really well made.look it up
Just found this: https://www.gearbest.com/screen-protectors/pp_009809062202.html
It's an Hydrogel protection that "repairs screen scratches". I don't think it will repair but probably makes them invisible.
Just few moments ago I posted this. Am really nervous about it and just thinking about returning this phone as this is not normal in my opinion

That doesn't look like scratches at all except for one. I would definitely return that if possible as it looks like something is wrong with an adhesive possibly. The screen hardness should be a level 5-6 like most other phones. Even the latest GG scratches just as easily.

You're right - it wasn't scratched. Thanks to other member I found out it was bad oleophobic coating and I returned the phone, waiting for my money right now. I bought another A2, screen looks ok until now
Spoke too soon. Screen scratched deep within 3 days of having the phone. Definitely recommend a tempered glass screen protector for this thing. I just bought some Nillkin's from Aliexpress.

The A2 Lite has no Gorilla Glas, at least there is no official statement from Xiaomi about that. Probably it's just "cheap' scratch resistant glass.

Ah, here is btw. the answer from Xiaomi Global support I got a while ago:
"I would like to inform yuo that the MI A2 lite supports 2.5D glass display and you may refer the Official Global Website https://www.mi.com/en/mi-a2-lite/ for more updates for the same. Also, your feedback for the device is mentioned and will be forwarded to our relevant team. "
I asked about if the device has Gorilla Glass.

Yeah, I know. Well, at least now I know what to think about Xiaomi Mail-Support.
Nillkin is fine and does stick around the edges. I would recommend if you have the patience to get it perfect. It is also very smooth. I ruined mine because it's extremely hard to position right since it barely fits the LCD. I had other screen protectors come in from Amazon and they don't stick around the left, bottom, and top edges or corners, so be aware of this fact when ordering random brands.
My OCD about alignment, dust, and bubbles is going to make me go without a screen protector on this phone because it's never even close to perfect. It seems to be less than gorilla glass too. It already has more scratches than my OG Pixel since launch.

Hello guys.
I had a MOTO 360 for about a week or so.
after just that week of normal use. My screen is full of tiny white scratches,
also, the bottom of the watch, is cracked ( where the bands are .. )
I called the storewhere I bought this watch. They say, its my own fault. And they probably wont want to replace this watch..
Is there something more I can do?
I mean, its gorilla glass 3, it isn't suppose to sratch after 1 week of normal use..
Please help me further?
Thanks!
What are you doing with your watch?! I work in a warehouse and my watch is still good as new the back has for small cracks but that's because of the pebble band
I have had mine for months without any scratches. . This watch isn't made for rugged use.. construction, landscaping, etc
Get it replaced under warranty due to the cracked back.
Then get a Nillkin glass screen protector.
Thanks for all your replies
Im using it like a normal dude. Im sitting behind a computer all day everyday, so that cant be the problem
I got it replaced indeed, due the cracked back
But, I think it comes due the pepple steel band. Is that possible?

There is a thread about cracked backs. It seems its common for the pebble band to cause cracking due to the pressure placed on the plastic 'ears'. The official moto band has plastic spacers which help prevent, although some have damaged those too.
Good you got it replaced. Check out the Nillkin screen protector. Cheap and can barely tell its there.
i don't know if corning 3 still can get scratches, can you confirm it via a photo/ etc?
Recommend that you look at the Steelconnect series of adapters. The M180 is reported to greatly reduce the risk of cracked backs. Gives the Moto a more high end watch appearance in my opinion.
I found that metal contact, such as server racks has not scratched my watch yet. Concrete and stone will more likely scratch due to the presence of quartz chips which cut even Gorilla glass. If you go through doors or elevators that are in placed in concrete, you may have casually bumped against the edge and received the scratch.
Fortunately, most protectors will cover minor scratches.
My moto got replaced a few days back, so I cannot make a photo of the scratches.
But I didn't walk in to something, I'm always very carefully with my new gear..
If i replace the band with a so called 'steelconnect' will the back still crack?
My watch glass has a few scratches.
My workplace has walls made of stone! I presume i have grazed my watch, moving past people as i'm walking up and down the stairs.

I got this for $10 on amazon and it has worked great. You get six protectors (and a lifetime replacement). The first one I put on was a trial and it worked good but I did not get it on perfect and it started to get some dust on one side so after three weeks I replaced it and got the next one on perfect and it has been great. We are heading on a cruise in a few weeks and will be on some beaches and wanted to be safe against the sand.

I've had mine since launch day and don't have any scratches. You can however get it replaced via warranty for the cracked back. But the steel isnt' scratched or dented. The glass is still flawless. I have worn mine every day all day without issue. I've even knocked it on a few corners as I walk too without issue.
Mine got a few but I'm a perfectionist so I got a screen protector and it looks perfect. I tried a glass protector but it chips and I would rather have soft plastic protecting the 360's glass to absorb impacts. So far it has survived 4 foot drops, stucco walls, and me directly punching the watchface with my knuckles when the tilt-to-wake stops working!

Tempered glass screen protector. Amazon has them for under $10. I hate the feel of plastic screen protectors on a phone, tablet or watch. I much prefer the feeling of glass.
I've had this one for a while now and once on, it stays put. Link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VWV74W8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I agree I loved the smoothness of a glass protector, and how you could wipe a glass protector with a rough paper towel and it would come out perfect! But the thing is the glass will transmit the force of an impact directly to the 360's screen, and eventually you get a nasty chip in glass protectors.
A plastic protector will adsorb impacts and won't chip no matter how bad the impact, it just protects the 360 (and gets little scratches, but only in the plastic) These ones have a good non-sticky feel and for 2 for $15 I just replace them when they get too scratched up: http://www.powersupportintl.com/brilliant-film-for-moto-360/
Thx. But I have no access to that link for the screen film u left for me. Is it $10 for 6pcs? is it a tempered screen film ?

thx.But the link you left is not available now. So i am unable to see the detailed information. Could you pls send it to me again? If it looks well. I would like to buy one for a try.
I recommend a tempered glass protector. Have a look at the attached picture. That is how horrible my protector looks. The screen underneath is still flawless.
The cracked back isnt just a byproduct of using a Pebble band. I have the official Motorola metal band and guess what...2 small cracks coming from the base where the band meets the watch. Another factor that can contribute to it would be how tight you wear the watch, and the position on your wrist. Is it above the wrist gone near your hand or behind etc.
How many of you guys use your beloved OnePlus 3 without any form of protection? I mean without screen protectors or case or skin. I've been using my phone without any case or skin for past 5 months and with only default screen protector it came with. I'm thinking of removing it, so, was asking if it's a good idea to use without any screen protector
Update: I just want to say that I went for rhino shield crash guard. I've been using it for quite a while now, and so far it has really grown on me. It's not too big or bulky and offers good protection.

I did. I had my op3 since July and I never used cases or screen protectors. I did dropped it a couple of times, the aluminium developed some light scuffs, and on the display you could only see some fine scratches. In January my gf dropped it, and it shattered the glass. I got it repaired at one plus service centre, and they sent it back with a screen protector. Now I also ordered a pretty case, just in case... I don't want it to happen again. A really tough phone overall

I dropped my phone 6 f***** inches off the ground WITH a screen protector and no case. Shattered the glass accross the whole top of the phone. It all depends on what material and how it falls. This phone has 2.5d glass meaning the front glass protrudes a tiny bit and it curves to the edges. If you drop it on any sort of surface that is harder than glass like cement, asphalt or ceramic, it will shattered the screen if it lands on any corner where the glass touches first.
Now how the heck you can use this thing without a case blows my mind, I can not hold this phone without a case, it literally slips out of my hand.

Yeah, it's pretty slippery. But, the added bulk of case just didn't cut it. And I've this urge to look at the phone's design, appreciate it and show off (lol!) every now and then. And stories like this make me skeptical and vulnerable. I also haven't found a good case to go with it.
I'm fully naked and it s amazing . It s so slim and without screen protector is so much better. That screen protector is not even covering full screen..It makes the experience very unpleasant
Well i am a fan of skins , so that's what I've got with a silicone sleeve over that and my default screen protector that came with the phone , it would be my luck to remove the protector and a stone finds its way in my pocket ...
I have big amounts of love for this phone! Coming from a moto g play after smashing my opo it is a phenomenal upgrade and with the dbrand concrete skin its a sexy phone haha but the screen scratches way too easily for my liking and that's with me being careful but its fine/micro scratches that appear under certain light now it's not gonna make me not use it but I feel it could have been better.
I'm also a fan of skins. I've got a carbon fiber dbrand skin and also had my screen replaced by the one plus service center so I'm using the pre installed screen protector that came with the new screen. The dbrand skin really helps with grip. I just can't use a case the added bulk just ruins the experience of using the device for me. Don't know why I've always been like that with my devices. I hate cases. OCD I guess.

Living without screen protector/temper glass since last September. And oh boi is it durable: beach sand, 10+ drop to flood tile, washing in sink. No dink or scrape...the only micro scrape I got is trying the damn s-pen and it doesn't even work! I do use cases tho. Pic as reference.

Without any protection here. I dont mind if my phone got scratches or something. I use my phones so long that i couldnt sell them anyway when i stop using them cause its not worth anything any more.
So why should i hide my nice metal body phone and some plastic stuff? No, thx
Got a transparant case with a dbrand. Also a screen protector since I was getting allot of scratches..
i got only a case around the back. from time to time i saw a few deeper scratches on my screen. i took care all the time to not scratch my screen, but i still found some scratches. I removed them with polish for car windshields. They are completely gone now.
Picked up the Samsung Screen Protector yesterday - knew it was a plastic one not tempered glass, but after experiencing issues with the tempered glass protectors on my wife's S7 Edge I thought I'd just go with the one Samsung sold.
Unfortunately I'm not happy with it at all - looked fine on the phone by itself, but kept lifting up on the edges as soon as I put a case on it (Spigen Slim Armor)
So given the choice of screen protector or case - I think I'll go with case.
Even when I pushed the edges down while the case was on it still kept lifting - this is what it looked like after an hour in my pocket:

So if you're considering the Samsung branded screen protector - beware.
Shoot, I literally just ordered one. About to cancel. Thanks for the heads-up.

I got one of these as well. Took it off after a day because it looked awful. Currently running naked which makes me nervous
Nothing was available when I preordered the phone. So I ordered the Liquid Nano stuff from Amazon. It's supposed to fill in any of the imperfections in the glass and help prevent cracks and scratches. So far so good, but it hasn't been a week yet. I'm a little skeptical but I haven't seen any screen protectors that look worth a damn. I don't believe we'll ever see a good curved glass protector, one with adhesive on all sections of the glass. I will say the liquid nano seems to repel skin oils really well and it says it'll last 2 years. I'll give it a month before I say it's good or not.

Bought this too. It's fully compatible with the Ringke Slim case since it doesn't lift around the edges. The only issue I've had with this screen protector is that the edges seem to collect dust - after 2 days, it looks like there's a thin white border all around. At least it doesn't lift with my case.
The Suprecool Screen Protector for S8 Plus in itself is great, I cannot even feel it, and it feels like it will be at least some form of protection, I have yet to drop it, and don't really feel like testing my Phone.
Can clearly see that it's your case peeling the protector, get a new case that doesn't lift the protector off, apply it correctly and you will have no issues.
Im using the same protector but with the clear case from Samsung wich doesn't peel the protector like yours is doing, no issues, ill take one pic tomorrow.
I ended up getting a pack of these after I posted on April 24th and I was able to successfully install the first one flawlessly and it's still on looking great. No peeling or anything. Wasn't hard to install either. Had a few small bubbles that disappeared within an hour.

I use the official Samsung Screen Protector and also use the Alcantara case and have had no problems. In fact, all the cases I've used have had no problems with this screen protector. There is a very slight edge lift on all the edges, but it shouldn't interfere with the screen and it shouldn't continue past the bezels. Mine was installed in the Samsung Store by an employee.

If you say it didn't raise further from the edges and didn't collect dust in about a month, maybe I'll try another one...

Got this and no issues with it yet. The screen feels more natural (like the actual phone) as opposed to the spigen one i used - which ironically the reason why i changed was because it was lifting after a coupe of hours.
the case is the issue - not the screen protector.
Re the nano liquid - waste of money. Mine slide down my ironing board when I folded it, and gently hit the floor and folded face down onto wood flooring - result was a chip in the middle of the glass. These merely help to keep the screen a little cleaner. Thats all.
I had used multiple screen protectors for my pricey Z fold 3, but none of them fit properly. Within a few folds, it just peels off or bubbles shoot out. This annoys me and makes me feel uneasy when using it since I should be more cautious with my z fold while gaming because I am worried of scratching it with my nails?
in reading some of the samsung forums, the samsung reps have described that if you use a 3rd party screen protector over the factory installed PET layer, it will void the warranty if you have issues down the road and attempt to make a claim. I'm just quoting what i've read though so no expert here. Maybe the PET is the reason it's not staying put well. Maybe you would be better off using the S-pen on the inner display if you are worried about scratches. i know it's not ideal for some though having to pull that out all the time with the inner display.
jst use PET stock layer and get it replaced when it has scratches. Watch youtube durabilitty test. He scratched the PET layer with nails and knifes, and screen was perfect after peeling it off.
good video

Maybe you would be better off using the S-pen on the inner display if you are worried about scratches. i know it's not ideal for some though having to pull that out all the time with the inner display.

It does not void warranty. What they say is if you damage screen removing the protector its not covered under warranty.

Thanks for sharing man. I'd seen them, but in practice, it's crucial to handle the Z Fold 3 with caution while it's in your hands.

Yeah, I too had the same thought for the PET layer.
I purchased S pen with the fold, but I also play games on a regular basis, therefore I'm searching for screen protectors for additional protection. If this isn't a foldable device, I'd use temper glass and never worry about such things.

Despite having seen it, I have some concerns about screens, and the Samsung Care Plus is rather expensive, so I planned to purchase it within a month.
Seriously, I don't want to replace the screen on a regular basis, which is why I'm looking for screen protectors. Also, they have limited claims for those purchases

Yeah, I had seen the plan but Samsung doesn't describe those?

Use Sunglass pouch for extra protection
My Fold2 had scratches on both screen protectors from daily interactions. My Fold3 has none. The inner screen protector feels more like glass this time around and is doing really well at staying free of scratches. I'm a heavy Note user and am mostly utilizing the inner screen. Very pleased this time around. Have owned my Fold3 for over a month now, zero scratches.

if you install a 3rd party screen protector over the existing one, and somehow the UTG breaks bc of the increased pressure while folding, i'd imagine it would be your fault and not covered under warranty.
why not trust that the existing screen protector will protect the phone? it feels good and doesn't peel, if it becomes too scratched then i would say think about replacing it. otherwise, just enjoy the device and try not to scratch it!

I agree. I never once said to remove the protector and still have mine. I am just letting people know if they remove the protector. Warranty is not voided.

Never be concerned about an existing screen protector. I reviewed two of my colleague's z fold3, one of them is a heavy user. If you had removed or disturbed the existing screen protector and looking for a new one, the gadgetshield screen protector is a good option

Ok then, I will look over them
At what point do scratches on the screen become noticeable to the point where it's bothersome?
I ask simply because I use tempered glass on my iPhones because I hate micro scratches and want best resale.
Well lo and behold my screen protector got a nice deep scratch about 12 mm long near the middle of the screen. I noticed it because my nail dragging on it was clicking noticeably. Looking at the screen is was completely un detectable! It would take a LOT of scratches or physical cracking before it would be annoying, right?
That's when I change the protector when it gets cracked or dinged from a fall. Otherwise...

I thought this thread was dead, what you're saying is true and the screen protector does get scratches and makes the screen look blurry at that point I will change it. But with tempered glass, it breaks soon to be replaced so I was fed up with it on my previous devices. Anyway, this is a foldable device so I installed the film protector which heals the scratches on it, I know it is not believable but it works!!

Yes, I replaced it with a Gadagetshieldz film screen protector and it is better than the factory protector because it can self-heal the scratches and is good with the fingerprint sensor too!

So there's a poll in progress that I started on another website, and I wanted to broaden the scope of it by gathering the experiences of XDA's users. Kinda goes without saying, but the poll option wording was crafted to very vaguely capture how long someone's owned their Fold (ANY GENERATION), and how the screen's held up. If you've got a couple seconds, go there and let me know how your experience.
I want this to spread all over the popular tech communities where Z Fold owners are... maybe this catches fire, maybe it gets a couple votes and fades into obscurity... but I wanna try.
well mine I had for about a month and a half now I haven't had issues but sometimes half the screen has delayed part i don't know if it a software thing or my screen but it seems fine works good I use a rugged casemate case to protect it which helps a lot since the phone is still kinda fragile I can say the screen has improved as for the toughness of it bc I had a z flip 1st gen I loved it never had issues with it I hope my screen doesn't go bc I would have to wait on Samsung but so far I love the phone but wished the cams was better but they do what I need it to do but one thing to keep your fingernails cut bc if you don't it will dent the screen even if don't realize it now the battery life has improved on android 12 I do say that bc I was only getting about 9 hours of heavy useage now im getting about 12 to 14 hours which is good but I dont charge my phone full as it degrades the battery as time goes and what did you have issues with your z fold 3 ? and you should post on reddit to on the z fold 3 communities on there bc there is people that have had screen cracks and all that but all i gotta say is keep the phone clean thats does help alot and its does keep the dirt and micro dirt from gettiing into the phone i always use air duster but i go at a angle at the hinge area and just be careful and i havent had anyhting get into my phone as of this time of me typing this out but good thing this phone is alot more durable since they add water resistant but i hope this help and also when cleaning the outer and inner screens always use a micro fiber towel and a lens cleaner or screen cleaner its does help it stay cleaner and helps with finger prints but i do highly recommend this case for any z fold 3 owner https://case-mate.com/products/tough-black-plus-galaxy-z-fold3-5g
I've had my GZF3 since release and have had no problem at all. I replaced the outer screen protector with Whitestone tempered glass. I removed the inner screen protector.
I have had mine since a couple weeks after release (shipping delays) and I am STILL on the ORIGINAL factory installed screen protectors on BOTH screens and the ONLY issue I have is that there is a slight scratch on the inner screen that is 100% MY FAULT.
Otherwise, perfectly fine here.
Received mine Oct 6 last year. Inner screen still intact with factory screen protector. I alternate using fingers and SPen Pro on it. Outer screen had a small cut when I was changing cases before so I have a Ringke tempered glass on it. Other than that it's all good
Since November 1st. No issues. Both factory installed protectors still holding up. Been in the Aramid Latercase since day 1. Inner screen looks perfect.
One thing I've noticed in the past few days is the effort to fold and unfold seems less. Like it's broken in? Not loose like a TransAM with 100K miles mind you, but just a bit smoother. And completely silent.
With the colder weather I've been resistant to open the phone up if it has been sitting on the seat of my truck. Been getting used to that skinny outer screen.
i've had mine since August 2021; original screen protector still on the inner screen, no cracks and no other issues.

A bit off topic but may I see a photo of the phone with the tempered glass installed? I'm looking for a tempered glass that is case friendly and coincidentally, ringke is in the list.
I've had my Fold 3 for 4 months now .. 2 months into it I opened it up and heard Crack Crack crack.... ohhhhh noooo.. Ended up was only the screen protector it came with was peeling up from the crease. Ended up taking it off and all been well with the screen. No issues so far. Been using the cheap out of it everyday cause I'm still off work. Thinking of getting getting another screen protector for the inside but for now both screens are raw dogging it lol....

I hope the pic is clear enough. Here's the Ringke tempered glass on the fold.

Likewise! I wish I'd have recorded me doing this, but when I got the raised corners everyone in the reviews talked about, I hit the corners with a heat gun and they were gone in under a minute.
I like to rock my phones with nothing but a skin on the back, and a tempered glass screen protector... but my skin's started lifting, so I at least have to find a thin clear case that plays nice with the dome.
