How to install google camera on mini 9.2.13 stable version - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

please help

Please help

You have to unlock bootloader, flash twrp recovery, enable hal3(this can be done in many ways. For example, if you root your device with magisk, you can flash the camera2api command from magisk's repository).

You can move to 9.5.13 or 9.5.17 (both are ARB3 but Oreo and much optimized for GCam) and then do the steps mentioned by @kostas gp

Root HTC10 Nougat 2.41.401.03

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a way to root my HTC10 Nougat 2.41.401.03. Could you give me some ideas what i'm gonna lose after root, notices and the link, please?
Thank you very much
unlock the bootloader using HTC Dev, flash the latest version of TWRP and then flash either SuperSU or Magisk (Magisk is a personal preference).
Just be wary that flashing a custom recovery and flashing either one of those will likely break the phones ability to update OTA.

Flashable SuperSu

TWRP

Magisk

I think Magisk Root is better to have system less root, Android pay and snapchat works perfect, after flashing in magisk settings you have to turn on "magisk hide" and choose applications (android pay or snapchat and much more).
Hi, how can I install TWRP and then Magisk ?

Cam2Api & OTA - Few doubts !!

Hi, Few questions here.. Havent flashed in a long time..
I want to enable Cam2api in stock rom.. Without losing OTA..
What is the way to go about it ??
The usual method as i understood after going through the forums is to
1) Unlock bootloader
2) Flash twrp
3) Enable cam2 api through adb(if u dont need root)
Questions as follows..
1) After flashing twrp is it necessary to flash lazy patcher or lazy patcher needed only if its rooted ??
2) Can i flash the subsequent ota update zip from mi websites through twrp ??
3) If cam2 api is enabled will the stock miui camera stop working ??
4) My previous phone Mi A1 had a method where we could enable camera2 api without losing ota updates.. Is there any such method for N5Pro ??
1. You will need lazy flasher for keeping twrp as recovery, even after booting, as miui removes twrp after booting. But there's a much simpler option, boot into twrp as normal via ADB, root, boot into system, install official twrp app from play store, install twrp from there, it'll keep twrp intact.
2. Yes, for beta, though it'll remove twrp again, bootloader will remain unlocked. For stable, I've not tried.
3. With camera2 API enabled, camcorder will be fixed focus. Probably the only bug.
4. Add camera2 with magisk modules, you'll still get OTAs
I have camera2api enabled and have no problem with automatic autofokus in camcorder (stock camera app). MIUI 9.5.19.0 rooted.
Ok.. So if i just boot into twrp without actually flashing it, enable cam2api & then boot the device.. There will be no issues with both the miui cam & ota updates, right ??
One more doubt will i have to do this step after every ota update or once i have enabled the cam2api, will it persist after each update ??
Bump
if enable camera2api, i will have bugs in miui camera?
affects the miui camera? thanks
Ota update failed after cam2api enabled any solution

Miui 8.11.1 & root without twrp

Can i patch boot.img to install magisk on 8.11.1 without twrp? I have unlocked bootloader
EDIT: did it

Can't root on MIUI 12.5

Hello,
I was rooted on MIUI 12 before the 12.5 update and I have recently updated to 12.5 but I had some magisk modules installed which lead to some malfunction post update (non-rooted).
I tried the recommended method by magisk (Patch ROM's boot img and flash it with fastboot) but I keep getting into bootloops, did anyone root post MUI 12.5 and was able to bypass this issue or used a different method which worked?
Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, any modification may lead to bootloop as per now.
Try to downgrade to 12.0.7, install twrp, use something to uninstall magisk module there, and flash 12.5.1 back. Don't boot to system before flashing miui 12.5.1
even just disabling verity of the vbmeta = bootloop

Root redmi note 9 pro joyeuse (MIUI 13.1 Android 12)

Hello xda. I'm thinking about rooting my note 9 pro.. I have the EEA firmware version latest Android 12 update.
V13.0.1.0.SJZEUXM
I'm thinking about grab the boot.img from the firmware, patch it via Magisk and flash it using fast boot. I mean without twrp. Will it be possible for this phone and this android version? I rooted my mi 8 lite this way and it work like a charm no twrp needed. Did you ever tryed this way to root your note 9?
I mean I can't find a stable twrp version.. Especially for Android 12 .
So if i try the method mentioned above will it work? I don't really need twrp for anything. Only need root.
Yes, if you simply follow the official Magisk install guide by TopJohnWu (patching the boot.img with the latest Magisk app and flashing it via fastboot - no need for recovery) it will work. In case you have to use apps which need SafetyNet (running on the official ROM).. that's a whole different story.. then you will need USNF, too, etc..
On MIUI 12 (Android 11) my phone was rooted with Magisk, I updated MIUI and of course the phone got unrooted, I redid the whole boot.img Magisk patching thing and tried installing Magisk, but now it doesn't work, I went around trying a bunch of different TWRP, including unofficial ones, nothing seems to be working.
