Hey ,Guys
Although this phone have many good features and specs for its size and price , the low sound problem still one of worst problems .
I've tried many many sound mods ( nearly all mods in the mods and tweaks section) but any of them either didn't work or caused a bootloop)
One of the methods I tried is to modify (mixer_bathes) in the root of the system by changing the values of RX1 and RX2 . For my surprise ,it worked and the earpiece sound became noticeably louder and the speaker became slightly louder .
Unfortunately ,this method worked only on rooted ZUI or deodexed only .
I've tried different custom roms (AEX ,AICP ,Pixel Experience ,Jaguar , Bootleggers -Which I use currently- ) but any of them didn't work with that method .
SO , guys Does anyone knows what to do about that ? I really don't care that much about the speakers loudness but my problem is with the earpiece which makes calls very bad experience.

Just try to delete this post and ask mods to shift it to q and a section
Btw about ur question
Try cardinal aosp ROM, Jaguar rom, OOS Oreo by dhananjaya
Flash shox 3.7 audio mod first as HTC 10 and then as stereo mod
Then flash Dolby atmos
Then install kernel adiutor and increase speaker gain to +7
Then you'll be good to go

Two more question. Will this fix the low sound if earpiece as well ?
And which one of these roms will be better in terms of Battery Life?

Depends on ur usage Jaguar has bugs and OOS also has bugs better try cardinal or nitrogen
Rather try latest nitrogen
Yep it'll seriously increase earpiece volume to craaazzyy loud
Flash akt and choose xana battery profile

manually increase volume -
1. Go to *root* > vendor > etc
2. Open mixer_paths_tasha.xml in editor.
3. To increase speaker volume -
Find "RX7 DIGITAL VOLUME" and change it's value from 84 to 87
4 to increase earpiece volume -
Find "RX0 DIGITAL VOLUME" and change it's value from 84 to 100
5.For headphones volume -
Find HPHL and HPHR and change their values from 12 to 15.
FYI mixer_paths_tasha.xml location differ in every rom but u will find it under etc folder it may be
"root/system/etc/" or "root/sys/etc"

I walk through really loud places on my way to work and back home, and I can hardly hear anything on my earphones (in-ear even). Either my hearing is not at all what it used to, or the volume is just too low.
Is it possible (or is there already a way) to increase the earphones volume above the current limit? (a kernel patch or whatever determines the volume limit)
I know it's a slippery slope to an impaired hearing, but I'll take my chances.

Install Android DSP

download the update.zip and get the apk inside and install, dunno if it works on all kernels, but works on defrost 2.9, theres a graphical equalizer and some loudness options.
+1 on this, I'd also like to see if there's anything we could do to rise earphones volume...

Tried on modaco r8, didn't work (bootloop).
you might have know about megabassbeats. it's a mod to improve our sound quality created by dehumanized. in these past several days, I analized the files inside it and do several experiment to improve this mod. at first attempt, I found that we can modify the equalizer setting in eqfilter.txt. the result of this experiment could be found easily on themes and app section.
however, the result doesn't really satisfy me. I've made more modification for myself to improve this mod. even if this mod is based on beatbass, I've found that several files is missing from the file list. I've added those file into my latest work. I've also found that some of lib file inside this mod isn't loaded into system. by changing some configuration file, I've loaded those lib files and add several modification for sound effect improvement. for the last step, new framework files is added with more binary and lib files needed by system.
I need some tester before I release this mod to public. if anyone interested in this project, they can PM me. I'll wait till 9.00PM GMT+7 today.
i'm all set to test

Issues so far: DSP Manager Equalizer graphic not working.
For me the sound is better, using equalizer Rock, Bass Bost Enabled, Slight.
That´s because I only listen to Metalcore
Will revert back to first Bass Beats and see if theres differences.
Stock ROM
Stock Kernel
rom: modified creed's rom 2.0
baseband: DXKL2
kernel: merruk kernel 2.0 pre-final release
player: poweramp pro (equalizer off) no effects
settings:
dps manger= compression on, bass slight, treble booster + studio room
installation complete
felt some improvements on bass and background music seems to pop out more (became clearer)
issues: dsp manager's preset graphics doesn't seem to change <--- minor prob and can totally be ignored because presets can still be changed and still have their effects
ps: placebo effect?? felt some improvements though maybe due to my crappy earphones

PlayerPro on Termarom2.1
have come to the result thats the first one better is for me,the bass is to weak
the other ones bass is more strong,i like strong bass,
i change to the first one,its better
Wow, awesome. I have tested.
I'm using DXKL2 FW stock.
The megabassbeats is modify my earphone very very much.
Bass sound is bravo....
DSP Manager settings:
- Dynamic Range Compression: Extreme
- Bass Boost: Extreme
- Equalize: Bass Booter
- Default Music app and MX Player.
dsp graphic equalizer is not changed. that's normal. you can tap on the picture and set the graph as you want but the effect only comes when you select custom preset. you can set the eq to custom then you can play with the equalizer graph.
working fine.............

So i just wanna know how you people improve the sound quality on M.I use pretty standard headphones on cm 13 yet the sound is so crappy.I tried using Viper4android but without proper configuration of settings its useless .So if anyone can help it'd be aweosme or else we can discuss and find out new ways to improve things

I've been running V4A since I first unlocked my 10, and it works fairly well, but not as well as when I have the Nexus 6 and Note5. Although you can flash the standard V4A in TWRP and have it work, you need to a modified version that patches the audio config files in order to not lose BoomSound or Audio Profiles. You can find the flashable ZIP that patches here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/htc-10-audio-thread-t3358064 (v2.1)
My primary reason for needing it is to boost the volume output to my car through Android Auto, which is Bluetooth powered. Play Music is so low when used this way, that I need to keep my radio near 30 (45 max) in order to get decent sound. Same car (2015 Sonata w/ Infinity radio) and the Note5 would achieve the same quality closer to 15/45.
The 2.1 zip I mentioned above seems to break all system sounds when applying a ROM update, but not every update. When it happens, I need to dirty flash back to the latest Viper full ROM, then take the OTA again, then flash V4A and hope it doesn't break. I'd prefer some other options to raise Bluetooth volume levels if anyone can recommend an alternative.

I have not. Is there a version that maintains BoomSound function? That's why I've previously stuck with the thread I linked above. A vanilla V4A install works, at the expense of BoomSound, and I'm trying to avoid losing it.

Used to run Viper because it was a godsend on the Nexus 6 and its horrible audio setup. On the 10, I'm using it for Bluetooth volume more than anything else. The slight boost to speakers is nice with the Extra Loud toggle, but I can go without it.
Do you have a link to the specific mod you're talking about? I'll try flashing it later tonight to see how it works.

Gotcha!
For me, I like maximum customization options, and for me Viper has offered that since I had the One M7 a few years back. When I made the decision to unlock my 10, I went straight to ViperROM, so my experience for this device is currently limited to a week on stock, and then Viper for custom.
But I have no doubt that each ROM currently available has pros and cons, Viper included, and it's up to everyone to give them a shot and use what works best for them.
Hi all. Many have noticed that the headphone output has taken a hit with the latest beta. I use V4A and even that isn't really doing the trick. I installed EX Kernel, which does a great job at improving volume... But unfortunately I'm getting phone freezes whenever I join a public WiFi if I use a custom kernel, so I've had to go back to stock.
Does anyone have a way of boosting headphone output above and beyond V4A? I've tried editing the mixer_paths.xml file... But it no longer exists!
Any ideas?

They did move it to vendor/etc but the there are no numerical values to change under headphones like there was in 7.1.1.
I found it, and thanks for the pointer! I did try changing the values I used to change before (HPHL HPHR RX1 RX2) but it's not working now I'm not sure it worked then either!
Any other ideas m

Only option is the custom kernel with sound control route. Which kernel were you using that was giving you problems?
I used to always edit my mixer_paths_tasha headphone values to 84, playback gain control on slight -1.9db and kept the master output gains at 0 in v4a and that was more than enough volume for me. Now I just run sound control headphone gain at +2, and playback gain control and output gains are still at same levels and the volume is the same.
It's happened on both EX Kernel and Blu_spark kernel... I'm back on stock and will see if it happens again tomorrow. It SEEMS to happen when I'm listening to Spotify and I rejoin a public WiFi that requires login through a splash screen. Yes... It's very specific, and entirely possible it's not kernel related. However, I know that all custom kernels experience some WiFi weirdness (delayed WhatsApp notifications on WiFi only etc.) That's my best guess at the moment anyway...

Try FrancoKernel, I havent had any issues with wifi and the latest update today has wifi fixes in the changelog.
Edit: that is, if your issue has anything to do with custom kernel specifically.
Flashed new kernel 1.16 and downloaded kernel adiutor from playstore. There you can increase the volume
