Hey everyone, My gf and I both have XL's on Oreo 8.0 but for some reason her google now card home page looks like it has been updated to some new more transparent look. Anyone know how i could update my google now? Just to clarify i mean the page that i located on the home screen of the stock pixel launcher.
Thanks in advance!
It's rolled out on Google's side eventually you will get it. I hate it.

The big issue is that you can't swipe away cards from the main window. You have to tap the 3 dots then tap done with story. So one gesture that could easily be made is turned into 2 gestures that have to be relatively accurate.

You can hide the 'running in the background' notification without a third-party app - http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/1...kground-notification-without-third-party-app/

Thanks. Worked for me.
Settings - Apps & Notifications - All - 3-dot menu at the top "show system" - scroll down to Android System

Or you can scroll the notification to left and in there it has option to disable it
What gives? I thought that was a huge thing. Do you have to enable it somewhere?
Using Nova and Pixel launcher give the same results.

System - Gestures - Swipe up on Home button
Thanks!
What a useless feature! Glad they gave us a choice.
It's not really gestures if you have to pick your finger up to move through the list.

Nope.
If you just want to move through the list, instead of swiping up from the "pill", drag it directly right instead.

Dave

I'd guess that would be personal preference i like xda app because it's a little simple and UI is not overwhelming

i use swipe up from left or right for back and swipe up in the center for home and for multitasking swipe up and hold from anywhere .
Swiftkey is crashing for me (app is faulting out and closing)
Does anyone use Swiftkey?

Maybe try swiftkey beta. That's what I'm using on my 3a xl and have had zero issues.

Look into the SwiftKey theme settings and see if is in there. I f not, you can create a theme yourself.
