As a general FYI, if you think you need to repartition your phone it is also possible that your phone has experienced:
a) A hardware issue, possibly partial or total emmc failure.
b) A mismatch between bootloader (sboot.bin) and trustzone (tz.img) versions. See this post or my MK6 stock thread for some possible options to fix this.
As a step of last resort to recreate the partition table on your phone, a pit file may be what you need. This can be done in either Odin or Heimdall.
Warning - repartitioning your phone may erase all data and might cause other unintended consequences. You assume all risk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To use a pit file in Odin, this is typically done as part of a flashing a stock rom package, like the LJ2 or MA4 package for the i317 (or similar package for the i317m). You specify the pit file in the PIT section, make sure the repartition box is checked, and then add the rom package in the PDA section like usual.
If you are running an official 4.3 or later bootloader you will not be able to successfully flash a stock firmware package that contains earlier bootloaders - Odin will hang and you will need to find a different stock package to flash that does not contain a bootloader. (i.e. If you took the the i317 4.3 OTA and are running the MK6 bootloader or a later bootloader, you'll want to avoid UCAMA4)
The attached zip includes pit files for both the i317 and the i317m. The partition mapping is the same for both (see the included analysis files), but the pit files have unique security signatures which are accepted only by the bootloader of the specific model phone for which they are intended. I've tested the file for the i317 and can confirm that it works as intended. The file for the i317m was pulled the same way by an XDA member (thanks @plemen !) with an i317m and I've confirmed it is formatted correctly. It has now been confirmed as working.
If you want to learn a bit more about pit files, check out this thread by Adam Outler:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540480
Very interested in this, as I need the pit file for my I317. Question about the bootloader, though.... I've never taken an OTA, just flashing CM and OmniROM nightlies (was on 4.4.2 when my phone committed suicide). Should I be safe to use this pit file? And what factory firmware would you recommend to go with it?
pit files should be back in a day or two (I'll be testing over the weekend).
Depending on what happened to your phone it's still highly probable that your pit (partition) data is fine. There's a way to confirm this using Heimdall - when time permits I'll add instructions to post #2. That's a safer first step than attempting a repartition.
As for bootloader and firmware - if you've never taken an OTA, and you're not on a 4.3 bootloader your best bet for stock firmware is UCAMA4. It's a more complete and somewhat newer package than the other option (UCALJ2). You can get this from sammobile, or a mirror copy I have linked in post #2 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589891
that post also has information on a couple apps you can load that will allow you to check which bootloader you have loaded once your phone is operational.
Thanks for doing this! Did you have any luck over the weekend? Looking to re-partition as I'm unable to mount.

I expected a test phone on Saturday that didn't arrive until Tuesday thanks to the USPS getting the day off on Monday. Once I confirm the files work as intended I will repost them.
As for the issue you are having - what partition isn't mounting? Can you provide more detail?

The Note 2 (ATT) suddenly rebooted and stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen. A couple reboots and a battery pull did not solve the issue. I even let the phone stay on the screen in the event it needed to do some sort of repair.. but after an hour, nothing changed.
I loaded CWM recovery and got recovery mount errors. Also, I am unable to mount any of the internal file system when attempting from the advanced menu. After a couple of hours of following tutorials I went into download mode and installed the stock ATT rom. It was successful but still did not boot (attempted this twice). I came upon a few suggestions for similar issues that said the PIT file was needed to repartition. I used Beanstalk 4.4.2 before the crash.

The symptoms you describe are similar to those I've seen on the Q&A forum recently. I don't want to be the bearer of bad tidings, but I suspect you have a partial emmc (hardware) failure.
My time during the week is limited so I expect to have testing done this weekend.

Pit files are back up and attached to the OP. The i317 pit file is tested and confirmed working.
The i317m file is identical, except for the security signature. I'm currently looking for someone with a healthy i317m willing to test flash the i317m pit file to confirm it works. (I would do this myself, but I don't have an i317m).
Unfortunately it did not work for me. emmc failure suspected. Strange thing is that in ODIN I can still "Successfully" install a ROM.. and even the PIT file succeeded. I still got a logo screen for several minutes.
Fortunately for me, I have an additional mainboard from a otherwise damaged note 2. I'll be swapping that out.
Thank you anyway. Hope your file helps others!
My phone was not booting and stopped at Samsung logo. After the pit file and stock rom, my phone is live again. I am still having issue with storage but at least I have good starting point.
thanks
Works fine on i317m

I have never used skipsoft but I know that you cannot downgrade the 4.3 bootloader.
Try this:
1) Download ODIN and extract the zip file from here.
2) Download this file and then extract it. The extracted file will have a tar.md5 extension.
3) Boot your phone in-to download mode by i) turn off phone ii) hold volume down + home then press power iii) on prompt press volume up.
4) Start Odin on your pc(windows) with admin rights, (right click and run as admin).
5) Now connect your phone to PC, on ODIN if you see a message that phone is connected.(ID:COM tab on left will turn blue)
6) Click PDA tab and browse the extracted file, it will take couple of minute to verify md5 and then once it's done
7) Auto reboot and F.Reset time options are checked by default, leave them as it is and make sure no other options are selected/checked on ODIN.
8) Click Start
8) Let ODIN do it's job, phone will reboot automatically.
Alright, so i have a Galaxy s3 (sgh-i747) and i rooted it with philz bootloader
So i was going to install a custom rom, so i had to wipe.
I downloaded the rom, and wiped.
But then i realized i actually never put the ****ing rom on the phone and now my phone has no rom loaded.
I can still boot into download/recovery
I really need help with this, what are my option?
So my phone is not rooted any more i guess because the recovery/bootloader is the default one
I still really need help with this

Do you remember what (stock) firmware or Android version you were on before the attempted installation? Your best option now would be a return to stock. If you were on anything earlier than 4.3 (e.g. 4.1.2 or 4.1.1) you could try using Odin to flash 4.1.1 since you can get into download mode. To do this take the following steps ..
1. Download the required files via the following link <http://fortedge.com/downgrade.html>and extract the Odin flashable file
2. Install Odin
3. Boot into download mode and flash via Odin
OR you could find the correct stock image via the following discussion thread and flash via Odin. This would be a complete stock file that will flash all partitions including bootloader, modem, kernel and system.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
If you were on Android 4.3, then you cannot use the above method or flash via Odin and any attempt to do this will create more bother for you. In this case, you would need to flash custom recovery via Odin and restore the stock recovery image via custom recovery. Please download the stock recovery file via the following the thread ...

If you need any further detailed steps on how to complete this, please do not hesitate to holler.

Download Odin.
http://fortedge.com/downloads/Odin307.zip
Download the Odin flashable custom recovery file via the following link ...
<http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/d2att>. You need one of the more recent images ending in *.tar e.g. the one below
<http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-d2att.tar>
Install Samsung Kies on your PC if you don't have this already (this will be useful for the drivers)
Install the twrp tar file to an easily remembered location on your PC
Extract the Odin zip to get the executable file (*.exe)
Click on the exe file to run Odin
Now boot your phone into download mode by powering off completely then holding down the Power + Home + Volume Down buttons simultaneously until you see a warning message.
Press the Volume Up button to continue
Connect your phone to the computer with a good quality micro-USB cable
If everything has been done OK, Odin should immediately recognize your phone and you should see a message saying "Added" in Odin. If you don't see this, then you may need to check the drivers are properly installed.
Click on the PDA tab in Odin and navigate to the twrp tar file you earlier downloaded. Select this file and click OK.
You should have the Auto-Reboot and F-Reset Time boxes checked in Odin. Please do not check or uncheck any other boxes!
Click on the Start button at the bottom to start flashing TWRP and wait until you see PASS and a green (or blue) box fully displayed. Your phone will automatically reboot after this although it may not be able to boot since you don't have an OS installed. You may disconnect the cable and close Odin after you see the PASS message. If you see FAIL, then disconnect, remove the phone battery and try again.
If you successfully flash TWRP, then you may proceed to reinstalling your ROM.
1. Download the zip file in the thread below <<http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486>>
2. Save to a recognizable location on your phone's SD card. If you can't install files to your phone via your PC, then you may save to a micro SDHC card using another micro-SDHC compatible device (camera, another phone, card reader/writer etc).
3. Boot into recovery mode
4. Select Install from the TWRP menu and navigate to the zip file you download. Swipe the arrow key to confirm installation and wait for installation to be complete
5. When installation is complete, clear your cache and dalvik and reboot system and you are good to go.
Hope this works for you. If it does, please remember to hit the thanks button and let me know.

Hey Guys Im Back! Thank you for the support and how it blew up. I have tested this on Android 10 UI 2.0 and it works better then ever!
Also installed lineage os : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a10/development/rom-lineage-os-a10-a105f-t4078093
So i tried using afaneh92's tutorial which will be linked here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a10/how-to/magisk-root-galaxy-a10-series-t3963822
Which lead to me bootlooping or softbricking and my storage was reduced from 32 gb to 16Gb so i decided to work on my own method!
Credits go to afaneh92 for the Twrp!
BEFORE YOU START YOU SHOULD HAVE
1.Samsung Drivers installed
2.Odin Installed
3.7zip Installed
4.A data transfer cable
5.A Proper working brain
If you have all of those lets start!
A: Phone settings
1.Go in settings>about phone>software information>build number tap that 5 times until it says "You are a developer now" then you will have Developer options unlocked
2.Then go in developer functions and find OEM unlocking tick that on scroll down until you see Usb Debugging and tick that also Disable Auto Updates option
B: Download TWRP and 2 other important files
1.Dial *#1234# and it will show the AP and some others, focus on AP paste it on google and get the download for it
2.After downloaded move the AP to your download folder in your android device

i notice thread title says exynos only.. u do know they are all exynos including a102u and a102u1 right?
Oh. Alright thanks for telling me.
Press on app? I have nothing in odin saying that, do you mean ap?
Edit: guess not....i'm bricked, stuck on galaxy logo, device not recognized by pc, holoding power button wont force reboot, nothing lol.
Edit2: can force reboot holding volume down and power but instantly stuck on logo again, cannot power off or enter download, nothing...bricked. Followed this guide to the letter. I assumed when you said app in odin you meant ap since there is no app button. My bootloader unlocked then I went to flash in odin the tar i made with patched boot and vbmeta, along with recovery linked. I used matching firmware to what my A10 has also. Would not mind if i could get back into download mode, but that looks impossible now.
Edit3: Managed to get download mode but had to be so quick...hopefully I can reflash stock now.

I have a Samsung galaxy sm-a10. I've tried everything here, even combination files. The error I ALWAYS get is 'failed flashing ROM... OEM lock'
Of course I have unlocked OEM in developer options, but still I get this error in the bootloader.
Any ideas?
Hey there, so I was playing a game PubG in which in the middle of a match the screen got stuck. I waited for 10 mins for it to go back and tried locking the screen with power button but nothing happened. When I long pressed it closed for a second then restarted and got stuck on bootscreen with only mi logo and no animation. Now it isn't switching off it gets rebooted to the same screen again. Only fastboot is opening. I don't want to lose my personal data there photos, videos that includes all my college life. If I try to flash it I think I will lose all data. Also I didnt backup all the data on mi cloud or anywhere. Please help me.
Also in flashing if I select the option 'save user data' will my data be saved?
same issue
same issue
happened to me just now
should be common software/update issue
Is your bootloader unlocked?
If you only want to back up your music, photos, videos, documents etc. , flash twrp recovery then boot into it (power+vol up about 11s). Connect your phone to PC. Then copy all data you need to save. Then reboot to fastboot and do a clean flash (clean all).
If you either want to back up the application data, do the previous operation without flashing first, and then do a "dirty" flash (save user data). At this time, your phone should be able to boot, use the BACKUP app to back up all your application data and copy it to your computer. The backup file seems to be stored in /storage/emulated/ 0/MIUI/backup, I don't remember it well.
After backing up all data you needed to save, you'd better do a clean flash using fastboot method. Make sure you choose "clean all".

Re: Prakharpathak
I'm sorry because I can't save a phone that have a locked bootloader. If you wish to try Qualcomm QDLoader9008, maybe it will not work. Xiaomi has locked the 9008 port for their phones. Unless you have an authorized Mi account to get the verify token and send the authentitation tag to your phone, or the phone will reject all flashing commands. QPST is not working. The only difference is that the bootloader can be unlocked, but the 9008 requires authorization every time.
If you want to try the force unlock bootloader tool, once the force unlock is successful, you will lose all your data. Unless you can erase the recovery partition before the bootloader send a wipe command to Mi-recovery. In other words, if the recovery partition is erased or the recovery is not stock recovery (like twrp, etc) , unlocking the bootoader will not lose any data. Twrp does not accept the wipe command from the bootloader.
[edit]Now we have working firehose programmer could be used. Use QFIL to dump your userdata.

my bootloader is locked but i am ready to lose all my data , can you please tell me how can i boot my device
Re: @jagannath287
If this is also useful for you @Prakharpathak , you can also try.
If you are ready to lose all your data, you can try to use Mi PC Suite. Offical link of MI PC SUITE:
http://pcsuite.mi.com
You must be able to boot into Mi-Recovery, otherwise my solution will not help you.
Download the recovery ROM for your phone. Note that you can't upgrade or downgrade the OS version using this method.
After downloading and installing the Mi PC Assistant application on your computer, run it and login to your MI account. Then select FLASH ROM section and connect your device to your PC. Make sure your device is booted into Mi-recovery and selected “Connect with MiAssistant”.
Warning: you can't downgrade/change ROM region (you can only install the same area version to your phone, like MI-MI, RU-RU, EEA-EEA, etc) using this method.
Make a full wipe for your phone and select the RECOVERY ROM package: fast update and agree with full wipe. Then wait for the data erasing is fully done. After you see “Checking zip file update” and if all ok, the flashing progress will start and you will see the flashing is in progress. At last, you will see the window with successfully flashing. In theory, the phone will reboot to system automatically. The first start will take about 10 minutes. Be patient and wait the welcome screen.
There is another MI PC SUITE version that I found and I attach with my post. There is also a XiaomiADB flashing program.
Alternative method:
Download the adb driver and install it on your computer. Use the XiaomiADB full-auto flash program to flash your phone.
Select “Connect with MIAssistant” in the recovery and connect the phone to PC.
Make sure the recovery ROM zip file and XiaomiADB flashing program that in same folder. For start flashing just HOLD zip ROM AND DRUG IT TO THE XiaomiADB. After this command your DATA will be reset! You lost all files and Settings on your device.
At last, I suggest you to unlock the bootloader for your phone as soon as possible and flash your phone using MiFlash in fastboot mode in order to avoid facing mysterious bugs. A phone that have an unlocked bootloader is easy to save (unbrick) or backup all data from the phone without booting into system.

Xiaomi has locked the 9008 port for their devices.
Can you flash and boot into TWRP recovery?
Can your phone boots into fastboot?
Did you try to flash every partition manually?
Did you try to flash the oldest version--V9.5.19?
More information needed. It can save time and guesswork.

Re: @Arun pm
You'd better create a new thread otherwise we will disturb the original author of this thread (Prakharpathak).
Did you mean the returned message from your phone is like this:
Sending "recovery"...
OKAY. Total time: 4.016s
Writing "recovery"...
FAILED<remote: Permission Error>
finished. Total time: 4.016s
In theory, the fastboot won't return this message and the USB debugging switch has no relation with fastboot flashing.
All partitions can't be flashed and return the "permission error" message?
Can you take a photo of the flashing error message?
[edit] Now we have working programmer and you could do all you want via EDL.

I am currently facing a similar situation.
My device redmi note 5 pro was running on miui 11 and suddenly its screen froze and then it got restarted and stuck at mi logo. It has locked bootloader and I can't access the stock recovery but I can access fastboot mode. I tried flashing different miui versions with different flash tools and everytime the process starts then after 9 seconds I get the error "ack count doesn't match". I tried flashing with edl point method as well and with a patched firehose file to bypass mi authentication but still got the same error. Can you please help me? I searched around the net and I can't find anything related to this particular error I am getting. I would really appreciate if you can help.

I tried to flash orange fox recovery but bootloader is locked and no fastboot commands working. I have tried mi unlock flash tool to unlock bootloader but error is comming "couldn't unlock more devices by this account this month" on official tool and on unofficial tool error is "current account is not bounded to this device". I cannot add device to this account since phone is into bootloop and wanted to save data. Is there any way to unlock bootloader and get access to storage data?
