I have a Galaxy Nexus running the official 4.3 JRW66Y ROM, and I want to flash the same version, still odexed, but rooted without having to unlock the bootloader. I'm not going to flash any custom ROM until a KitKat AOSP is released, so I don't need an unlocked bootloader, but I'd like to have root access. Is it possible?
The reason I don't want to unlock the bootloader is that I simply don't like that padlock icon there, so if I can unlock the bootloader without that padlock showing up as well, then that's fine with me...
Hi Forum,
I am wondering if the bootloader is unlocked in the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini ? I got it from a carrier. I want to install custom ROMS, but I heard that rooting doesn't let you install custom ROM's...that the thing that gets you to install custom ROMS is an unlocked bootloader. So does anybody know if it is unlocked ? And if the bootloader is locked, anybody know how to unlock it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The bootloader is not locked.
Just flash the custom recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980). Then you can flash any custom ROM in recovery.
Read all about triping KNOX, and if it's OK for you, go ahead.
Hi
Can I keep the officially unlocked bootloader unlocked while flashing roms? including MIUI and custom roms? What should I do to prevent relocking?
Thanks
My bootloader is unlocked even after flashing multiple rom but there are chances it will lock after flashing global stable miui roms. I flashed Global stable with twrp and bootloader is still unlocked.
My Phone is currently unlocked...
If I completely flash a new stock or custom rom will it relock again?
Will it ask for unlock code?
Is there any way to unlock k012 bootloader? I want to install recovery twrp/cwm or a custom rom may be. Thanks
