European HTC One M8 Not compatible with Honda - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I've read several posts and have seen videos where the HTC One M8 is compatible with some 2013+ Honda's (Mainly Civic). I just bought a used HTC One M8 "International" phone. Using a "phone check", it says HTC_Europe, Bootloader 3.19.0.0000, Build MRA58K, Kernel Version 3.4.0-perf-g5022b24. I connected the phone via Bluetooth to my car and plugged it into the USB and it connects using mirrorlink, but when I click on the double arrows on the side, it says that the phone isn't compatible. I'm wondering if it has to do with the phone being a European version or something else. Can anyone here help?
I have also read that if the phone is S-off, it will not work with the Honda Head units. I restarted the phone while holding the volume down button and it says " ***Software Status: Official**** ***Unlocked***. Does that mean that mean that is S-off?

After fiddling around with it some more, I locked the bootloader and it worked perfectly on my car. I guess I had read that the bootloader needs to be locked, and not S-on or s-off. I have S-On btw. Just posting this up in case anyone else has this similar problem.

[Q] HTC One M8 Dual Sim Delimma

Dear friends,
I have just bought myself the HTC One (M8) Dual Sim. Current Android version is 4.4.2 and software version is 1.45.401.12 and the CID is HTC__J15. The phone is locked and is also S-Off. I am having issues connecting it Bluetooth to my lexus SC 430 car, it connects, but I cannot have voice calls over it. When someone calls, I cannot accept the call using the sound system in my car (although it connects). I heard there is some Bluetooth issues with the 4.4.2 Android. What I need is following help
1) Is there any latest version after 1.45.401.12 for the HTC One (M8) Dual Sim? If yes, how can I get it and what are the steps to upgrade?
2) Is the 4.4.3 for HTC One Dual Sim available? If yes, how can I get it and what are the steps?
3) Should I change my phone status from Locked and S-On to unlocked and S-Off, also should I change my CID, if yes, why and how?
4) How can I resolve the Bluetooth issue, I tried my best and all failed.
I look forward to your kind support.
Thanks

[Q] Strange bootloader unlocking problem on Desire 300 O_O

Hi all,
After spending bunch if time seeking a solution, I found no one met this kind of issue when unlocking bootloader.
First, I wanted to unlock the bootloader as it was the only solution to fix a soft-brick on my phone. At switching-on, the phone starts with HTC green logo on white screen and stay on, and then vibrate 4 times and nothing else happens.
Recovery option through HBOOT menu does not solve it.
So under HBOOT menu, I plugged the usb cable, and proceed with the bootloader unlocking procedure according the step by step procedure on HTC Dev website & our famous forum.
Everything' goes well until i send the .bin unlock file to the phone in FASTBOOT USB mode, then it displays the unloack bootloader prompt window.
BUT it is impossible to validate the choice "YES Unlock bootloader (may void your warranty). Absolutely nothing happens when I press the power button, WHEREAS the choice "NO" works and reboot my phone the the HBOOT Menu.
So, it seems as a kind of another protection is blocking the bootloader unlocking ??
Phone information are the following :
*** LOCKED ***
***Security Warning ***
G3U PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.18.0002
RADIO-14.11.36Q4.21
OS-1.10.401.4
eMMC-boot
Nov 12 2013, 11:57:38.0
If anyone has an idea to explore a solution, i'd be pleased to try it .
Thanks a lot.
On htc's unlock bootloader page, which version did you try?
I used "All other supported models" and it unlocked mine without problems.
(my device has the same hboot but a slightly different radio version)

I chosen "All other supported models" , as the model is not listed.
Otherwise i guess it wouldn't have given me the bin file .

Well it's the only point in the procedure I could think off that might have been misunderstood.
(Desire * could have been misinterpreted as any desire model instead of needs hboot upgrade)
Other than that and the obvious keep trying until it works, I'm out of ideas that could be of use to you.
Sorry & Good Luck
Maybe the desire* one would work. I used the All Supported Models option also and it didn't gave me any problems unlocking it.

i have the exact same problem. can't unlock the bootloader, can't enter the recovery menu, can't reset it to factory settings. you were able to fix it after all? it's so strange, i've unlocked lots of htc's but i've never been in this situation before.
Bump!!! Please anyone solved this problem?

A certain guy at a service shop told me it is probably a bricked EMMC chip where the bootloader and recovery are, so you can't do anything about it.
I'm no expert, so I don't know if this makes any sense, but that was what I was told.
I have HTC desire 300 and I unlocked bootloader with no problem when unlock bootloader screen came I just used volume key to select yes and then pressed power button and it rebooted and unlocked. I suggest you try all procedure again on another computer.
I've same problem on HTC Desire 500((
no PC problem, no .bin file problem
Power button respond only in NO position
I have same problem with a desire 300. I used both bins (all supported devices and desire *) with no success. Only No option responds.
I have same issue, power button responds on NO not on Yes.

HTC himaulatt?

I recently bought an HTC One (M9) 32Gb Factory Unlocked on eBay but when i put the phone in downlode mode i saw in description: htc himaulatt, i suppose is att carrier and it has bootloader locked, s-off and cid:11111111. Also the firmware is 3.35.617.12. This is the Developer Edition? Can i flash another Sense rom like ViperOne?
Any help please?
With supercid....you likely have an att variant phone that has been flashed with the latest OS....or I suppose it could have taken the latest OTA if the recovery and FW is stock...
Either way....you can flash viper....or any MM rom that supports the ATT network....
You are in pretty good shape for Modding....just remember to backup your device before doing anything to crazy...g

Hey, did you get any luck installing other roms? I have the same phone and it is "S-ON", I'd would give the rom that you have tried a try as well... let me know!
Hey guys,
I've got a m9 with the exact same condition, bootloader locked, s-off and cid:11111111, and firmware is 3.35.617.12. However, when i bought this off a seller online, he told me its brand new. (lied, by the looks of it)
I', not familiar with this whole flashing, ROM, SCID, s-off etc thing. But right now i've got a android security update, which werent allowed to proceed because it says i am not running official HTC software. Also my phone says its a test unit and is HTC's property (which i've read somewhere that says its due to the s-off thingy)
I only want my phone back to stock, and could update OTA.
Where do i start? i dont expect answers, but perhaps some guide as to which articles/threads to read? Its all quite confusing to me at the moment.
Cheers, CLee
Well, S-OFF basically means you can do what you want with your phone.
You can unlock your bootloader by typing "fastboot oem unlock" in your cmd.
Since your rom is x.x.617.x, you run the developer edition, that one is always himaulatt.
No lock, just dev edition.
I just got a HTC M9 and it also says himaulatt, but mine says S-ON, i can't find any information about this particular model.

[solved]M8 turned into a demo version?

after getting a M9 i wanted to return my M8 back to stock so ive
- locked the bootloader
- reset the tampered flag
- changed the cid to HTC__002 (which might be a error)
- flashed the ruu from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934518148
after the reboot ive discovered the demoflo.apk on the phone and figured out that ive uses the wrong cid
so then ive changed the cid to HTC__102 (whats the correct cid for me)
flashed the ruu again and the demo stuff is gone
but when i tried to turn of htc and related stuff, the phone still syas that its a demodevice and property of htc
ive got the phone from my provider and ive wouldt be very p****d if they sold my a demo-device
the phone is working fine, but unsalealble because of this fact
ive solved this problem
i simply forgot to put the phone to s-on
with s-off and stock rom it will act like a testing device from htc

If your phone is S-OFF your phone displays at reboot an red text message "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC...". It says nowhere about a demo device. That's because what you have then is a Developer ed. device. There's nothing to be concerned about. The phone works either way the same.

Ok, that's one of the messages from the initial set-up. It's because of the S-OFF. I would not be alarmed and leave S-OFF for good. You could brick your phone changing it back to S-ON and flashing a rogue rom on it. Did you use Sunchine to make it S-OFF? Preferably to leave it S-OFF.
this message appeared after ive flashed a stock ruu
ive put S-On and every thing is fine, the phone is now back in full stock, so i can sell it because ive moved to the m9

Asia 2.41.400.5 to America 3.16.617.2

Okay, so I'm pretty new to this but also comfortable with computers and such.
I bought an HTC 10 Unlocked on ebay and it turns out it's a 64GB Asian Unlocked model which apparently (according to frequencychecker has some bands deactivated. It came running Android 7.0 software ver 2.41.400.5 and when I went into download mode (holding down volume while powering on) it is telling me that it is superCID 11111111 2PS62000 and S-off.
So my question is, if I change the CID and MID to the appropriate values, preferably for the NA Unlocked, will I be able to flash to the latest NA revision 3.16.617.2?
I've seen in another post regarding an AT&T model that deleting modem data (through Fastboot?) and then flashing could work for those radios (I'm on T-Mobile as of last week). Is there a way to read what bands are enabled? I know that the chip is capable of 24 but depending on the region they are restricted. Would this even enable them or should I just find a different phone?
hi, i had bought a similar "HTC 10 XC, so with 64GB ram" just like yours... also S-Off, SuperCID & modded MID to 2PS6200. (came pre-installed with WWE Nougat firmware and stock ROM.
may i ask what is your original MID as stated on the back of your phone? mine reads: 2PS6500!
do you happen to know what was your original firmware on that phone? you said it's an asian-64GB version... how do you know it's not an us-64GB one?
reason why I am asking? every since i applied the official OTA to Oreo => My GPS is fully dead!!! it sees the satellites just fine, but all have zero signal-strength so it cannot lock any GPS anymore
thanks for your reply

There is no model number posted on the phone at all. Only IMEI, S/N, and P/N and I was unaware of a 64GB version that was made available stateside. Also, according to the S/N the phone was manufactured January 22, 2016 yet it came pre-installed with a much newer version of the OS.
IMEI.Info was able to determine that it's an HTC 10 but couldn't determine anything beyond that. As far as I know, there's no such thing as a NIB phone with SUPERCID.
