After flashing Havoc ROM, I attempted to flash Gapps (ARM 7.1 pico) but it came up with Error 70 and after rebooting system, I do not have google play store
Looking at a few forums on xdadevelopers, I found a solution that is, to wipe system partition. However, I do not have that. I only have under Wipe > Advanced Wipe:
1. Dalvik/ART Cache
2. Cache
3. Data
4. Internal Storage
5. Micro SDcard
I am currently using TWRP version: 3.1.1-0.
If anyone could reply with a link to a solution or a solution itself, that would be really helpful.
Thanks!

Wipeing system will remove the rom, so be carefull.
But from the advanced wipe menu, isn't there a repair file system button. There then should be a resize system option..
The havoc system img is large so , not much room for gapps
And really this is a question that will get best results if posted in the havoc thread, where others who have it installed can give first hand answers.
I ha same problem with crdroid with nexus 7.
Create a txt in the same folder where gapps zip is located.
Rename txt into gapps-config.txt and paste this
# try it this way it will install app store
Include
Core
# stock removals -- it will remove these to create more space
# Browser
CMAccount
CMUpdater
CMSetupWizard
ExchangeStock
Email
Hexo
# (Eleven)
# this doesn't work. may not need anyway if we skip 26MB GoogleTTS
# +PicoTTS
# -GoogleTTS
# maybe move fonts to /sdcard ? 38MB
# or in a pinch remove NotoSansCJK -- 18MB
Flash with trp. Ill
If you still get error it should say how much size you're lacking but you're less than 12gb with this config. Don't know how much else you can scrape.
This what im tryin to figure out, first i love pixel style (stock gapps) is a must thing to flash with some modified, ive shrink that stock-gapps zip nearly 400mbs..
First try error 20 told me im on 7.1.2 with arm seriusly (hell its phhaon vanila aosp and its 8.1 arm64).
Tryin wiping through recovery and reboot recovery and flashing the gapps 8.1 arm64 and again same error, anyone have fix and know how to fix this??
Can you help me get gapps to install on my nexus 7?

You say "paste this" but what should I paste in the .txt file? I dont follow what you mean ! Grateful if you get this and can help me. I just keep getting the error 70. I only have 117 MB free in the system folder and the nano gapps is bigger than that.

A first post here, please be gentle with me, and huge thanks to everyone who has made posting here unnecessary until now.
After a long time using CynogenMod 7.1 on my Desire, when I came to switching SIMs on it, I decided to look for a new ROM too because I was having a problem with shortage of app space and I was missing a few features I have become used to on JellyBean.
A look at the options found the one in the title by WoH (development forum link). It separates out the ROM and the Google Apps. I can install the ROM, and I like it a lot. I can't get the Google Apps to install.
Tried: flashing the zip file at http://woh-roms.weebly.com/gapps.html via the recovery menu, and installing a2sd. It has the right MD5 and appears to go OK, but the apps don't appear when the phone is rebooted, or appear in the list of things moved by a2sd. I have made repeated attempts, both with wiping user data before and afterwards, and doing it before rebooting after installing the ROM and after an initial boot with it, all without success.
Tried: reading the instructions there. However I don't have adb installed and because I don't have Google Play, I can't install a file manager that unzips files (the one in the ROM doesn't appear to - no unzip option is given).
Tried: installing the ROM mentioned in the development subforum thread by timvdlinde which does have Google Play. That works, but I am not so keen on the ROM itself. This may be incredibly shallow, but I liked WoH's use of the Nexus boot animation, and the timvdlinde ROM has the Nova launcher which I am not interested in.
The phone: an unlocked, rooted, AMOLED GSM Desire. The recovery is the Clockworkmod ROM Manager one. I don't remember ever changing the hboot settings. There is a sizeable ext4 partition on the SD card and it is being used by a2sd.

Theres no need for a swap partition. If you are using PA it will just act as a waste of space, since the rom doesnt utilize it in any way.
Try doing a full wipe and reflash the rom. Then flash these gapps. I can guarantee those work, as i use the same rom with those gapps and everything is fine. After flashing run the a2sd script through terminal.

To quote Napoleon Wilson, you can't argue with a confident man even if that's the file I've been trying - same source, same MD5
OK, I'm about to give it another go.

Not for me. I took some photos of the process, which I can put somewhere, but it was...
Repartition the SD card
Boot into recovery
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Install ROM.zip (using the one downloaded from the right place, no reported problems)
Install Gapps.zip (ditto)
Reboot
Notice that the Google apps aren't there
Do the su / mount / a2sd install anyway
Reboot (through saying yes to the third question)
Notice that the progress of the move to the ext4 partition says its moving 59 items, none of which are Google apps
Confirm that the Google apps still aren't there
I'm about to try again with another SD card on the basis of 'why not'

Ah, no they're not.
About sixty are, owned by root, with rw (owner) and r (group and global) permissions.
I am being tempted to bite the bullet, install the ADK on something and try the adb method.
What about /sd-ext/gapps/system/app. Anything there?

Yep, they are there, with what I presume are the right permissions: as above, owned by root, rw-r-r.
Doing some more nosing around, and looking at the alternative installation instructions on woh-roms.weebly.com/gapps.html
$ adb shell ls /sd-ext/gapps/system

Yes, doing
ls /sd-ext/gapps/system
produces that.
# enable extgapps (quotes needed)
$ adb shell "echo x > /sd-ext/gapps/.extgapps"
# gapps dir should look like this (if .extgapps doesnt exist the init script wont run)
$ adb shell ls -a /sd-ext/gapps/
.extgapps system

Yes, doing
ls -a /sd-ext/gapps/
produces that.
.extgapps is a zero byte file, rather than one byte containing 'x' as there, but the root explorer instructions would produce a zero byte file, so presumably a) there's no touch command and b) it's the presence of the file that's important, not what it contains.
BUT...
... if I do
logcat -C
(after doing logcat -c, going oops, rebooting, and getting it right )
then the lines that are supposed to be there aren't.
I'll get the email working, email the output to myself and stick it in a pastebin or similar.
pastebin.com/Qtrps3A8 has the whole thing.

.. so what file is it looking for, and is this down to trying to do things with the card before it is ready?
What has changed:
The search 'app' has gone from the list - I can see from the logs that it is supposed to be replaced, but here it's just missing.
The browser is now very like Chrome... and I don't remember that being the case.
Can't update/install anything ..
"Insufficient Space" or "Out of Space" ...
what's crazy is that it seems that this only happens for apps i either already have or apps that I once had in the past (either that, or it's just random that I was able to install another file that was BIGGER than the update that said insufficient space).
I tried wiping cache, wiping dalvik cache, factory reset, and wiped my internal SD and let it rebuild itself.
Seemed fine until I finally got everything back to where it once was.
I'm going a bit crazy over this ... please help!! I've tried so many things. Why is this happening and how do I resolve this issue?
EDIT (Extra Info):

After finding these new threads, I'm trying to mess with lucky patcher, then i'll try reinstalling gapps if failed. I'll return here and update.
-- Update: Market Fix app didn't fix
-- Update: Lucky Patcher didn't do anything by "just opening it" like someone suggested ... anything specific to click?
-- Update: Tried rebooting after the above 2, still nothing new.
-- Update: Tried reflashing the latest gapps through goomanager, nothing.
-- Update: Tried removing google account and adding it back, nothing.
-- CURRENT: Trying to search for odex files with EF File Explorer (+Root Explorer RW), but still saying "File cannot be deleted"? I just searched for "odex" .. it's safe to delete all odex files, right?

This is because you have an ODEX file hanging around from your previous app install.

Isn't this the one that's solved by going into your accounts in the main settings and removing your Google account and the readding it?

Nope, didn't work.
BUT as for the odex guy , this seems promising! I found odex files, but can't delete. Access denied using ES File Explorer (the two root explorer options are both +RW). How come i can't delete these?

Hey man, any idea how to delete these without getting "program cannot be deleted" error? I thought ES File Explorer would do the trick.
Also, should i just do a search for "odex" then delete all odex files?
I'm seeing program-bcd7-LOTS_OF_CHARACTERS.dex.odex from /data/data/
No! Delete those and you'll probably not be able to boot. You'll wind up having to reflash your Rom or firmware.
What are you currently running? Rooted?

If you want to, ONLY delete odex files for any app you've already uninstalled. Root is required to do this though.

so I was trying to install a rom (broken) on my gnex...I have twrp...the rom installed but gapps keep failing...I get an error message saying the device requires 37xxx of space and I have 35xxx of space...I deleted my 5 gigs of music and still get the same error...so what am I doing wrong?
I tried a smaller version of gapps and it worked but somewhere in there, I was unable to get google now to work...any ideas?
thanks

PA Gapps FAQ #3 My install of Google Stock (or Full Modular) GApps failed with the message 'Insufficient storage space available in System partition'. What does this mean?
It has nothing to do with your music, that's on a different partition. It needs space in the system partition. If you are using something like F2FS then you have less space in system and will have to use a smaller gapps package. Also its a GNex, so the "older device" portion of the FAQ comes into play as well.
I would use PA Gapps in either Mini or Micro flavors, they have Google Now included. They released an updated package today, I would check to see if they helps. If you are switching Gapps please see #6 in the FAQ as well. I had issues too before I realized I had to wipe System and reflash my ROM when switching to different gapps.

This is my personal experience with CM13 by Ivan meler
It may vary from your own experience but this can
Be very useful for everyone interested in using
Marshmallow on note 2. Am not responsible for any
Outcome whatsoever that may come by applying
Anything stated here on your phone, do it at your own
Risk

THE MYTH
YOU HAVE TO WIPE EVERYTHING Including your internal sdcard.
You don't have to wipe your internal sdcard to install Marshmallow CM13
For me, Marshmallow is everything that lollipop should be!
Great credits to XDA, CM and all the developers here who tirelessly
Worked to make lollipop better, in my opinion, I think that
Google gathered most of these fixes and implemented it into
the Marshmallow.
FLASHING MARSHMALLOW CM13
There's a lot of things that could look confusing about
Flashing CM13 but it's not as complicated as many had
Made it look.
THE DO'S AND DON'T
Don't leave your external in the the phone while running CM13 you
Won't like the outcome
Don't attempt dirty flash of CM13 On CM12.1
Don't format only system partition before flashing CM13
HOW TO FLASH CM13
I used Philz touch but TWRP recovery can Still do it. put the CM13 zip in the internal memory
If you're using philz recovery use clean to install new Rom. if you're using TWRP format /system, /data, /cache, /preload
Flash CM13 Zip
Here comes the gapps issues time: make sure that you have any other keyboard apk in your internal phone memory
If you reboot the system now everything will work well without gapps.
there are two different outcomes: if you flash CM13, (don't wipe cache or dalvik) flash gapps (i used open gapps full and slim zero mini) and reboot system
this means you won't be stuck setup wizard but In some cases you may still have AOSP keyboard unfortunately has stopped, disable it and install the keyboard apk you have in your phone memory
If you flash CM13 reboot the system before flashing gapps, you will face setup wizard issue and possibly Aosp keyboard issue whenever you flash gapps.
NEW DEVELOPMENT
Credits to @psndna88 the latest Angi kernel pureCM 4.4.9 (with SELinux permissive)
Makes it possible to use external sdcard and otg in CM13 but don't get so excited!
With Angi kernel 4.4.9 pureCM your external sdcard can be in your phone with
CM13 running perfectly but you can't use your sdcard files as normally as you do before. No app can see the sdcard (gallery and music player inclusive) the only way
You can access sdcard and OTG is via system settings - storage & USB. You can copy
Anything back to the internal memory - that's all you can do!
THE NEW FEATURES
There's no difference in the UI but many interesting changes and modifications in the system
#The multi window cut my attention although we had it in TW but its every welcomed
#Google now on tap is Nice
#Dose mode works but with full (stock) gapps I lost 6% of battery over night
Dose with slim gapps is way better with 2% battery loss over night
#Improvement on WiFi - unlike CM12.1 my WiFi can connect to a new network
While the phone is sleeping
#Dailer improvements - you can copy numbers that you just typed inside dailer
#Audio Fx improvement - combination of Angi kernel and Audio Fx was something Else in Marshmallow, so so sweet, dynamic and powerful.
#System animation, transition and scrolling lot better.
#Google settings now inside system settings
#default root works just fine but if you can't live with the # sign on status bar flash superSU
#App permission is way better - no matter the amount of permission an app requires you can choose to deny all or unnecessary permissions all by yourself.
#Even the android default Easter egg game has improved. I scored 14 on second attempt, never got 3 in lollipop
And many more options.
#I couldn't find System UI tuner in Ivan meler CM13
My Verdict
If you can't live without sdcard, wait for next updates
This is what lollipop should have been
It's a good improvement on lollipop.
The charging slowly that shows on the lock screen is a bug (it shows on both stock CM and Angi kernel) but the charging current is OK and the battery charges rapidly.

there are two different outcomes: if you flash CM13, (don't wipe cache or dalvik) flash gapps (i used open gapps full and slim zero mini) and reboot system
this means you won't be stuck setup wizard but In some cases you may still have AOSP keyboard unfortunately has stopped, disable it and install the keyboard apk you have in your phone memory

U r unable to edit contacts like addition of pics.
Playback of videos is some what tricky.
Overall, ROM is smooth & fast, way better from stock ROM.
I wonder that if cm 13 is working so great on note 2 then why Samsung is denied latest update toall note 2 users android 6 ???
@saggi2015 Samsung and most OEM are interested in
Making profit. They want to force you to use not 4 or 5
Even when your note 2 can still serve your well. It was the
Disappointment of note 2 not getting lollipop from
Samsung that moved me to xda. Today am using
Android 6.0.1 but Samsung said we should get stocked in
4.4.2
Am currently using Resurrection Remix marshmallow and it already Rock stable and daily driver on its 1st release. Everything works fine.
Very true... I highly agree with u

Most time you don't uninstall gapps. The bug free
Way is to wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format
/system partition flash the ROM again and flash the
New gapps you want to use.
Full gapps consumes more battery
I'll recommend slim mini gapps. Abt 172mb and it
Has Google now on tap
Thanks
have you tried DMD Panorama app with this rom? it`s not working...and not only this one app, but most of pano apps are not working, on any custom rom...only on stock 4.4.2 is working ok....it`s a very anoying bug

There are many apps that are not Marshmallow ready.
The new permission system in Marshmallow requires
Devs to update their apps to work better.
Alternatively, you can clear app cache and/or data
And give it permissions manually. If it doesn't work,
Take a logcat and the rom Dev or any other member
Can help you out....

nothing will work to make this app and most panorama app to work...not even on CM 12.1, or any other custom rom....on the stock rom it works perfectly
I flashed Marshmallow on N7105 yesterday (the unofficial version) and I can't recognize any problems with leaving external in while flashing or any problems afterwards.
I did the cm 13

First, md5 is used to check if the file is correctly copied
Or downloaded. In very rare cases it might be wrong while
The file is ok.
Try flashing the gapps zip again but this time uncheck the
md5 checksum in TWRP recovery. If it fails then the zip
Files is corrupt.
Try re-downloading the the gapps zip file. I will
Recommend slim mini gapps or open gapps mini

I can't install custom recovery in my note 2 n7100. Returned with nand write start error with odin always in many versions and error 12 with heimdall.
Please help me with this issue. Thanks.
How can I download cm13 for note 2?
Please give me a download link...

Hello to all,
I'm having a problem when I try to install custom fonts in CB7. I use two methods but non of them work:
1. Using flashable fonts as per this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/fonts-flashable-zips-t3219827 : The flash completes ok but the fonts do not change in OS.
2. Using root: ifont, hifont report that there is no free space in system folder so they can't install them. And when i manually replace the roboto-regular.ttf with the custom font, when i reboot the font has not changed.
Note that in official build 3.2.8 everything works fine.
Thanks!
Cb7 fills the system partition. Delete a Google app or 2 to free some space (Android pay for example). Then download those apps from the play store.
See if that fixes it. I haven't tried ifont on this device so I can't say it will work for sure bit that will give you space on the system partition.
Hello and thank you for the reply.
I deleted 2google apps through app management,
However i still get the same error...
I also tried with terminal to replace the stock fonts but after mount -o,rw remount,rw /system i get the error that the files are read only. Root checker reports that root is ok. Completely stuck here..
