Split screen Pokemon GO simultanusly - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello, I have read in some post that when we have 2 applications openened at the same time in split mode one of them get freezed when we use the other.
Someone say that it works with the 5 plus but not with the note 5 pro.
Does anyone succeded using 2 app running simultanusly on the note 5 pro ?
I wanted to buy a Xiaomi and I have to choose btw the 5 plus and the note 5.
Thanks

I was running two PoGos simultaneously without any of it getting freezed (only ocassionaly, but that was more of a lag). That was on 9.5.13, haven't tried on miui 10 beta yet.

Works fine with any Android 7 or higher Xiaomi phone. I tried or saw it working on Redmi 4x (too small screen for me but worked), Redmi Note 4, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi Note 5, Mi 5s (gets hot, battery drained in 30 min), Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2 (works very well, battery lasts about 4h) to name a few.
Warning:
You must not turn off Miui Optimisation in Developer Options. I did this once and after a reboot, I could only play one instance per split screen and the 2nd instance completely froze until I clicked on it and vice versa.

Should i buy the Mix 2 ?

Hi all
So, i'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, & was just wondering, is it worth switching from the Note 8 to a Mi Mix 2 ?
Kindly let me know what you think Details if possible!
Thank you
I'm not sure why you would want to change from a note 8 to the Mi Mix 2. The Mi Mix 2 is a great device. But the note 8 seems to be even greater. I'm not sure if the Mi Mix 2 offers anything over the note 8 (except for price).
-processor specs are similar, but the note 8 has waterproofing, pen, better support, arguably a better standard android build (MIUI has bigger flaws than Touchwiz (or whatever it's called these days), a better screen and an infinitely better camera.
The only benefit for the Mi Mix 2 would be that it's easier to put custom roms on it? But they are still a bit buggy at the moment.
I did the move because I had an amazing deal. Mix 2 almost costed me like 150 usd.
I just like it for the ergonomics and how the phone feels PLUS to be honest got bored of the silver color and waiting for the blue 256 variant.
But note 8 as a device is better in every aspect. Battery screen options and support ... If u didn't get a good deal then don't switch

Screen casting issues in Redmi Note 5 Pro

All,
I bought Redmi note 5 Pro last month and noticed that it has screen casting issues. Waited for the updates and issues still exists even after many updates i received.
A quick google search shows that hundreds of posts from all over the world about Redmi's screen casting issues.
I have a Redmi note 4, which works perfectly, however not the note 5 pro.
I don't any solution around for this issues. I have tried to cast on VU 49" TV which has anyview cast, also tried on windows 10. it didn't work
Request you guys to help me here on this. if this doesn't am planning to replace my phone.
Thanks in advance
I am on last stock update and I have the same issue

Andoid One 10 discussion thread.

Last generation Android Pie was launched on August 8 and around November 27 the Mi A2 Lite received the Pie update. This year, Android 3 is rumored to launch on September 3 and would probably come to Mi A2 Lite in the following months.
Will you upgrade the day it launches or will you wait a while longer before updating?
In this thread we will discuss news, bugs and solutions for the new upcoming Android 10 update.
Update:
Android 10 was finally launched and updates for Pixel devices started rolling out. Also, Xiaomi is not far behind releasing day one update for the Xiaomi K20 Pro (MIUI//China//India).
Since MIUI is a heavy skinned Android version we can't be sure yet about any bugs in Android 10 for the Android One program. Stay tuned.

With this phone, I think I've been in the lucky part of users (never had big bug or blocking issue all along updates)
But I will definitely do the same as for Android 9 :
Wait at least one or two weeks, and use this time for browsing forums likes XDA before taking a decision...
And I agree with you, system wide dark mode seems to be the more interesting feature (with native screen recording)
As i love Always to test new
I'll install the new os when it release
I will since I'm hoping they fix a bug in which the bluetooth and the wi-fi can't work together because wi-fi slows.

I never experienced that bug in Android Pie. I always keep both on since Bluetooth connects to my smartwatch and car and I never bother turning off wi-fi. Wi-Fi works normal at decent speeds.
Mi A2 Lite 4/64 model.
Any idea if enabled Camera2 API will survive the update to Android 10?
How about the prior update from Oreo to Pie with enabled Camera2 API? Does it still work afterwards?
I strongly hope they fixed all those Bluetooth issues
Has anybody installed the GSI?
This image was found on a subreddit for Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. This seems like good news since it was posted about 8 days ago.
Maybe we should expect Android 10 in the October update.
This messages are from Xiaomi support Great Britain.
please do not share information without verifying that it is correct

It's quoting the same debunked source mentioned a couple posts above. So hold your horses, it won't come next week.

That's just like... uhm, your opinion. This is a discussion thread and ... guess what, people discuss.
The K20 Pro received the Android One 10 update on September 24. The K20 runs on Android One unlike the 9T which runs on MIUI.
This means that the Android One 10 is now ready, it just needs to be tweaked for every supported Android One device. As we see until now, the Mi A2 will get it first, about 1-2 weeks prior to the Mi A2 Lite. That's what we have to check out, the global version of Mi A2 official forums.
For example the screen rotation glitch was knows 2 weeks prior from we getting it on our Lites. When we got our update, surprise, the screen rotation glitch... And it took them 1 more increment to fix that problem for both devices.

And where is the beta program? It has not started yet. An update without it is unlikely.
On the global MIUI forum (also from customer support) there was information that Android 10 will appear for us in November. If the beta program starts in October, it will be likely.
It should be remembered that MI A3 will have a priority in update, and the beta program did not start for this model.

Android 10 had a Google beta program, not OEM beta program. Xiaomi was in the program from the beginning. The Android 10 Beta Program ended in August with Beta 6.

Note 8 Pro or 9S

I have a new Note 8 Pro 6Gb Ram & 64GB, unopened.
However I have seen that I can now get the Redmi note 9S 4GB RAM (on promo) for the same price. The question should I order the 9S and return this one.
What is important for me is battery life, display quality and custom rom support. Overall Performance should be 'smooth' but I'm no gamer, just play the odd game.
Oh the size is important, I don't want anything too big. Just holding the Note 8 Pro, I am already thinking its already maybe abit too big. The 9S adds a couple more mm.
I guess future custom rom support for the 9S should be very good, it looks like it will be a big seller and having a Snapdragon CPU probably means more choice of custom roms ?
Any thoughts ?

Redmi note 9 pro aka note9s is way too big. And the finishing is not as good as note 8 pro. The thick black plastic around the sreen is thicker than redmi note 8. You can see from the side.
You should keep note 8 pro.

Redmi Note 9 Pro is not the same as Note 9s. For example, Note 9 Pro has NFC. 9s does not.

Realme 6 Pro or Xiaomi Note 10 Lite?

Bought a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite on Amazon France (it was cheapest there) in February. Was working fine up until a few weeks ago when it turned itself off and asked me to "Reboot to main menu". This now happens 2 or 3 times a day. Did factory reset, same problem. So looks like it's a glitch and I'll be returning it to get a refund. I've had Xiaomi phones before, never had a problem. So I'm looking for best phone around €300. I'd like a decent camera, quick /snappy processor, no glitches, good support and decent resale value as I tend to sell my phones every 18 months and upgrade. The realme 6 Pro and mi note 10 lite seem to suit my needs best..... But which is the better?
There's no reason for picking the 6 Pro over the Note 10 Lite.
1. Would pick note 10 lite's AMOLED instead even just comes with 60Hz. Why ? because 90Hz on 6 Pro is gimmicky, especially considering you ran it on mid-range SoC.
2. Higher battery capacity.
3. Mostly, Xiaomi phones have better community support due to several reasons like :
- They have official flashing tools (MiFlash) for repairing soft-brick, where realme doesn't.
- Better kernel source code quality, at least better than realme. The source code that provided by realme is total mess (sorry realme).
Orders the Note 10 Lite today, hope to get it next week at some stage.
