I was having issues with Snapchat yesterday as soon as i open the app it stop working but looked online and found it was a global issue with Snapchat however today Facebook is constantly crashing exactly the same way with the error Facebook has stopped working when trying to open the app, can't find any issue with this online, I've cleared the cache for the app, reinstalled it to no avail, rebooted the phone still the same issue, is anyone else having app crashes on their pixel 2 xl? Nothing has changed on my phone since these issues cropped, haven't installed any apps for a while.
I believe facebook crashing is facebook its issue not Android problem.

Yeah it looks like that i just can't understand why, i haven't updated the app in a while and it's been fine, also my partner isn't having any problems on her pixel 2 same version of Facebook so can't get my head around why it's crashing on mine.
GF is having same issue on her iPhone. FB issue I think, server side. It looks like it's trying to load data or something and just closes

actually not such a bad thing, wasting too much time on facebook need to get back to productivity
I have a fix for you, get rid of that bloat infested, disease filled, resource hogging, data stealing app and use one of the many alternatives, I personally use Maki.

It's working now must have been a long Facebook server issue yesterday for some people

Let me start off by saying that notifications and chat heads are enabled. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, clearing the apps data and clearing the system cache partition.
Everything was fine until last night when randomly I stopped receiving Facebook notifications and chat heads became buggy. I am no longer notified when someone messages me, comments on a post of mine, etc. That doesn't bother me all that much, but the thing that bothers me is that chat heads don't seem to be working properly. They would usually automatically appear when someone messages me but they've stopped doing that. I don't get any sort of notification either. I have to manually open up the app to see if I have been messaged, then press on the conversation I want to open a chat head for. The strange thing is, everything works fine when I'm actually inside the Facebook app. When I'm in the app, chat heads appear automatically like they should. It's only when I close the app so the chat heads are over my other applications that they stop appearing. I can still chat through the already opened chat heads, just none appear so I don't know if I've been messaged.
Here is what I have to do to check if I've been messaged by someone else:
(Image added as attachment as I can't post outside links)
As you can see, instead of their chat head appearing, I have to expand an already active chat head and press the inbox icon. This problem is probably something to do with the notifications not working.
It isn't a heartbeat problem. The notifications don't appear at all. My friend has the same Nexus and he is not facing this problem. Notifications for everything else work fine.
Anyone got any advice?
Thanks.
I've got the same issue man...
Pretty sure they changed the app. You need separate messaging app for Facebook now. I may be wrong though.

Yes they have. And both notifications aren't working.

Just for reference, I've tried:
Uninstalling, then reinstalling Facebook and Messenger
Installing previous versions of both apps
Cleared cache, data of both apps
Triple checked notification settings in both apps and on device
Tried PFN to no avail
Turned platform off and then on again
Also, I had Messenger installed then uninstalled due to privacy concerns and I only noticed the lack of notifications after I reinstalled Messenger. It's as if Facebook is punishing me
Ok. So I've fixed mine. Facebook and Messenger notifications are both working now.
Not entirely sure of the issue, but I've;
Went to root/system/etc and deleted hosts file.
Installed SuperSU and updated binary.
Removed Facebook and Google accounts from device and resynced both.
*edit.
Not sure if it had anything to do with it, but I uninstalled Freedom as well...
Has anyone experienced this before with the Facebook app? Something's throwing it for a loop! It only seemed to start with the latest app update. However, I am also using TeslaUnread with Nova Prime (I also use Pushbullet, but disabled the notification push for Facebook). Guess that's a place to start, disabling Tesla for Facebook and see where that takes me. The investigation continues, but I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else has seen this before with a similar config.

Use Greenify
Yep greenify
Thanks guys, will look into that.
Go into app settings in Facebook and disable sync and refresh time to never. That slows Facebook battery drain. Good luck

Yes, saw that one day. It was surprising just how bad it was. I uninstalled Facebook, reset, and reinstalled later. It's been fine since, but the problem may recur (I don't know why it happened in the first place).

I went ahead and set the app to never auto-refresh (looks like it doesn't affect the notifications, so that's good), since I don't need my news feed updating every hour when I can just do that when I go into the app. I've been just closing the app completely every time I'm done using it for the past few days, but I think I'll give it another go letting it run in the background, and see how it does. I did notice a couple other people mentioned bad Note 4 battery on the latest reviews in the Play Store.
For the past few months, I have been living with an issue on my Nexus 7 (2013) that I've been too lazy to try and fix. Its now ticked me off enough that I'm doing some research into this.
I have been having this weird issue with Chrome on my N7, whenever I go to Wikipedia, Chrome freezes. I get the error that chrome has taken too long and if I would like to end it, or wait. It takes probably 2-3 of the "Wait" taps for it to finally start responding again. Its only wikipedia that this happens on, as I haven't seen it happen on any other site.
I'm currently running stock 5.0.2 with no root, but this has also occured on kitkat, and with custom ROMS like CM. I also have a Galaxy S3, and Chrome is fine on that for wikipedia, so this is just on my Nexus 7.
Today, I decided to try something, so I reset my Chrome install, and re-launched it without logging into my gmail account, and it seems to have solved the issue. (It does freeze, but only for a second or two, and then its fine). So, it looks like its something within my profile that reacts badly with wikipedia and my nexus 7. So, my question is, where do I look next? Should I go to my google dashboard and clear all Chrome sync? Would I lose my bookmarks if I do that? Thoughts?
How about trying to
1. Install chrome beta to see what happens.
2. Clear the app cache
3. Clear /cache and /dalvic-cache
I also had similar problem on CM12, and seems to be solved by installing chrome as a system app, but you are on stock...

This might help.
Don't know if anyone else is having this problem but it seems like my apps are constantly refreshing. While I'm in them. It's becoming a real annoyance and I can't figure out why. I'm unrooter, ATT and running TWRP. I've tried restarting and clearing the cache. I don't know how to really explain what's happening but a couple of examples are:
I was in kik. Typing a message, keyboard closes and app goes back to conversations page. Kept doing it, same in snapchat or in chrome page keeps refreshing. Same thing as when i was using the android central app. It just kept refreshing. I know android system webview or whatever it's called was causing some issues so I uninstalled updates on that but it didn't help.
Anyone have any suggestions.
It seems to be slightly worse on wifi. Don't know if that helps at all
Disregard, troubleshot it to ****ty internet connection.
Howdy!
I have been generally happy with S22; however, there is one small persistent problem I am facing every day. I use the Gmail app a lot, and every day I write emails and keep them in my draft folder to continue writing/modifying at a later time.
When I access draft versions of my email in my draft folder, my Gmail keeps making my screen freeze or crash. I used to use a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and I never had this issue. And to my best, I kept the setup identical between the two phones.
While troubleshooting, I went in the safe mode, and there is no lagging, screen freezing, or crashing occurring with the Gmail app. This probably tells me it's the system components Samsung or I added that is causing this issue.
I'd appreciate it if anyone has an idea as to resolve this issue.
Thanks!

If the issue is not happening in safe mode then that indicates it's likely caused by 3rd party apps or a setting that was set by either you or an app (very likely 3rd party app).
Reproduce the issue or when it happens again, submit error report to samsung members app > get help > error report.
Samsung engineers will be able to look into and help with figuring out what is causing this issue.
My guess is that it's Google's issue.
I had problemas with Deezer, whatsapp and photo editor. All of them freeze and then crash when accessing the same functionality. Reinstalling apps solved the problem. Very strange.

Try to clear Gmail data and cache, uninstall update and then update Gmail again. It works for me with Samsung photo editor
