Root Samsung phone without Odin? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Hey XDA Community,
so my friend got a Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 and asked me if I could root it for him. But I have never rooted Samsung phones before, and everyone just talks about flashing TWRP onto samsung phones with Odin.
But isn't it just possible to root Samsung phones via adb/fastboot Like any other phone? It would make the task a lot easier for me.

[Q] Official Guideline how to root samsung galaxy note II on android 4.1.1

Hey guys,
I have the new Samsung galaxy note II and I don´t understand how to root this device. I read on different pages to set a counter to zero and so on...can you please tell me a sucessfull way how to root it? I can not find an easy way where people say that it works.
I used this method on page 1:

very easy to follow. My first experience with Odin and rooting a Samsung device and it was super easy.
I didn't worry about resetting flash counter to zero

[Q] So I'm getting a Galaxy Note 2 tomorrow.

I've already bought it. I'm just waiting for it to come in the UPS/FedEx.
Here is the one I bought.

I've owned 3 Android devices prior to this. A Samsung Galaxy S, an LG Thrill 4G, and currently I have a Galaxy S3 that's seen better days. I rooted all three of them so I'm no stranger to flashing a custom recovery and ROM.
But as $350 is a lot to drop on a new phone (I had a gift card) I want to make sure I'm doing things right, especially with a new device I've never even operated before.
How do I install a custom recovery on the international Note 2? That's all I'm worried about for now. Because then I can do a complete system backup so I'll have a way to restore in case flashing CyanogenMod somehow ****s up.

Go to the General section, maybe the Q&A section, find easy guides to root. In fact, Chainfire's Auto-Root CF is what you want. There is a process that will install CWM recovery along with root.

I really suggest, before trying an AOSP ROM like CM that you first install a current Samsung 4.4.2 ROM. Then you'll be able to experiment with the awesome S-Pen features that were ported from the Note3. Really very excellent and worthy of a look. I will not suggest any because this thread will then become a debating thread over best ROM.
Good luck
i rooted my GN2 on the day i got it using Mskips unified toolkit its so straight forward and can root install custom recovery along with a mirriad of other functions.
Also used his tool root a couple of S3s and s3minis all worked flawlessly

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini ATT Unrootable 4.4.2

I have tried many methods which do not flash your device ( towelroot, poot, etc ), and I have tried some of the others: Kingo and Odin.
None of these methods work with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini ATT running 4.4.2. All of the .apk attempts result in saying " Your device is not currently supported " or just not working. I have made many attempts with Odin, with many different types of files, all of which have ended in saying " Failure ". I really want to root my phone so I can remove all of my bloatware and really use my device. Any help will be appreciated.
May have your service provider, AT&T, prevented the phone from being rooted?

I can provide any information to see if my provider has done something to my phone to prevent it from being rooted.
Rooted with king root
I was able to root my at&t s4 mini using king root. I had to do a factory reset so my phone was stock with no software updates.

[Q] Thinking of buying a Galaxy Tab S,need some info.

Hello folks, the time has come for me to replace my Nexus 7(2012) and i'm thinking of getting a 8.4 inch Tab S.
.Since i'm used to Nexus' unlockable bootloader, and not having a Samsung device since Galaxy II,i'd like some info regarding rooting and generally tampering with this device
.Do you lose your warranty if you root this?Or is there any trick like "triangle away" was back in the S2 days..?
Furthermore,do you think this device is a good choice? In my country i find the 16GB variant around 280 Euros, and i can't seem to find anything remotely good for that price..
Lastly, how does the device perform with custom roms?I really hate Touchwiz UI.. :S
Thanks in advance for the help
The bootloader is unlocked on my Tab S 8.4 WiFi only model, not sure about the LTE version if you get it through a carrier like AT&T or Verizon.
As far as rooting goes, super easy with CF Auto Root. Thank You Chainfire. And yes, you will lose your warranty as rooting will trip the knox flag and there's no way of undoing it with Triangle away or any other method.
I haven't tried any custom ROMS yet, but I'm happy with the performance after I debloated it and I'm using Nova Launcher instead of Touchwiz.
Also just to let you know, most of the system files are Odex. Not sure if that matters to you.
That was all i needed to know, thanks for the reply !!

Help!!! Something is wrong with my Samsung S3 Grand Duos GTi9082l

Hi guys. I'm new at forum. In case i may repeat some thread, i'm deeply sorry but i'm very desperate, 'cause i really not understanding.
Root is new for me. However in the last 3 weeks i keep learning about all of it, mainly observing this forum. I even could root another phones, purchased recently. The problem is that my Samsung is not accepting any kind of root , being programs of "one-click" or even flash recover process. I have already watched a billion tutorials but i can manage to make it work. For your information:
- One-click Programs using PC (used: Kingo Root, Root Genius, SRS and etc....)
Process starts nicelly and countdown of percentages are slow, but work. However, in some point, with all this programs, the phone reboots itself, not as the way that should be, breaking the process. So the root's not succeed.
- ODIN/CWM/Supersu
I managed to place a custom Rom using Odin and install super su using flash recovery following the same procedures as everyone. But, when phone reboots, not only the root is not available but the supersu is having that "binary error" thing. I know that this is not a problem of the program, but something odd about the rooting process.
I got all samsung drivers updated. Does someone can help me out with this blast phone? I never thought that trying to root a samsung phone would be so dificult. Never again a Samsung Phone, since i cannot be master of my own phone.
Phone model: Samsung S3 Grand duos GT i9082l
Android ver.: 4.2.2
Rooting will be very difficult at first.I also faced many problems when I first rooted my device. At last after using many apps I successfully rooted my phone using Root Genius
★ try to use non samsung usb
★ use different ports
★ make sure that you enabled usb debugging
★ try on different pc/laptop
............but later I learned how to root using odin..
But my favourite method is one click root app named kingroot mobile apk(try 3 times atleast)..
