Hi,
With miui (9-10) I have no problems. With custom ROMs, yes.
Randomly the screen is blocked without touching anything.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb9E06-5SsE
The process that I follow:
1. Wipes
2. Install firmware (not always, to try something different) -> rom -> gapps.
3. Wipe dalvik and restart.
Any idea of the problem?
Best regards.
Even when I set up a rom for the first time it sounds the lock sound (although it does not lock during installation).
What did you wipe in TWRP? Flash firmware first then wipe system, data, dalvik and cache. Then flash rom and arm64 nano or pico gapps (if you're flashing AOSP roms) and reboot. If the error still occurs, try different roms but I assume that this is a user error.

I have a problem with the installation of JB. No matter what ROM I install, after boot, when home screen appear, my touch screen does not respond. I've tried a lot of roms and a lot of kernels. I have unlocked BL. In stock rom I have no problems.
What could be causing this? Should I format system before installing rom via recovery or just wipe data, cache and dalvik? When I should flash kernel? Before/after installing rom? I care about CM10. Plz help.
P.S. sorry for my english

I've tried to do that way but but not succeed
Certain ROMs require phone-specific patch, make sure you install it!
Other ROMs have different downloads for different phones, make sure to download correct one!
If you install wrong phone ROM, touch dies.
All question threads belong here in Q&A so please post in the correct sections going forward.
Thanks

The problem is caused by the kernal. You MUST have JB kernel to flash any JB ROM. Generally, for each ROM you will find the recommended kernel and the required steps. Do exactly like posted by OP.
As an example, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1979829
You can make an idea on the steps to follow.

Ok, so now I have installed Xperia T rom (7.0.A.3.195 v6.0 for ARC/ARC-S). Should I flash V77 baseband, then flash kernel from CM10 FXP150 pack via fastboot, make a wipe (data, cache, dalvik) then install ROM via Recovery, and then install GAPPS and it should work? This is what i'm gonna do, so if I'm wrong please tell me.
EDIT:
(edited in case someone had same problem)
I found the solution:
I had to flash BB 72 and libs, then flash ROM+GAPPS and libs once again, then everything works awesome. (edited in case someone had same problem)

Thank you very much.
i want to root, unlock bootloader and flash this ROM to my device
but i have several question regarding to the feature of this ROM
it says, same look but much faster..
does this mean:
-it supports HTC Media Link HD?
-it have the ImageSense and able to take photos while recording videos
-it is basically the exact same ROM as the stock one in pretty much everything but more speed?
thanks in advance.. :good:
Yes
Yes, if you can on stock ROM
Yes and it's rooted
well thank's! time for root now muehehehe
Good luck! If you run into problems, just ask in this thread and don't create a new one. Thanks.

What are the steps you are taking to flash your rom and boot.img?
when you flash your rom it should go into aroma.. choose the option that says do full wipe, if you dont you'll run into problems. after you have flashed it, flash your boot.img in fastboot mode from your computer then do fastboot erase cache to prevent any problems from the boot.img. Can you give me the steps your taking to flash?

Wiping is VERY IMPORTANT! if the necessary steps arn't taken then you can mix up new codes with the old codes leaving you with many different problems. Thats why devs ALWAYS recomment wiping even when Wiping isnt needed to avoid such problems. Also you might want to check your md5 sum from your downloaded rom.. could potentially be a bad download

I had something like this with my HOX once, but the problem was due to loose connections after i had cracked it open. you can look at the development section to revert back to original. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094113

No, but most people would flash gapps 6 too, else you will miss a lot (must be done at the same time as the ROM the first time to set permissions)

Copy CM13 rom and gapp in your sd card.
Backup your old firmware through twrp.
Do a factory Reset from Wipe.
And install CM13 and gapp respectively.
And enjoy ^_^

checked every file hash matches, did exactly as written, done all of above and it doesn't work
TWRP went on in less than 10 second does that sound normal ? and how do you know if its actually on there?
Nope. Installation take atleast 2 or 3 minutes.
and if its installed properly you would have seen different rom from the stock.
Here is what i use for s4 mini(i9192). Also used it on i9190 model as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/rom-aokp-rom-25-apr-2016-t3366314
and these steps mentioned in the website.
A. Initial install
1. Copy ROM and Gapps to your external SD Card or internal memory
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe
4. Install ROM and Gapps
5. Reboot
Its simple. Should have worked.
I hope you have installed your model rom.

In TWRP Swipe for factory reset will do the job. you can also do dalvik /art cache in advance wipe. System or other wipe never did it for changing roms.

Ie that enough only to make WIPE FACTORY RESET AND WIPE DALVIK CACHE is not necessary to the FORMAT SYSTEM, DATA AND CACHE ??
sorry i do not understand.
to install a rom just do a factory reset. nothing else is necessary.
If you do not do factory reset, sometimes you will not be able to install a new version of rom(for example, from kitkat to lollipop).
if you do not do factory reset its called dirty flash.
for example
you are using custom rom cm13. and it has a new update released, you go in twrp recovery and install the updated rom without doing factory reset. this way you can keep all the application and data you have.
i hope i am making some sense. it is hard for me to explain.
well do some flashing and you will understand but always make a backup.
I have not yet received the phone, but when I do I will boot loader unlock/root. (If I don't intend to stay with Oxygen OS at all, should I even root or just flash the new ROM?) Also, is dirty flashing ok with this? Can I just flash it without wiping?

When you unlock the bootloader it will wipe the device so dirty flashing is not in the equation.
If you are flashing CM then you dont need to root first but you will need to root after. (last I knew) Most roms these days dont come with root by default.

Yeah it will wipe it, but the system files are still there right? I was watching a video of someone installing a new ROM, and they deleted
Dalvik/ ART Cache
System
Data
Cache
Or am I wrong? Do I not need to wipe all those partitions before flashing? Really sorry for being a bother, fairly new to this.

That is what is called a clean flash. (always the best bet when flashing a rom rom and even suggested by all devs. You will be told that you can "dirty" flash (wiping only system and both caches) so your app data and settings stay after the flash but to be honest that is just being lazy as you will have to clean flash before you can post a bug report anyway, so why not do it from the start)
Yes when you unlock the bootloader the system will be fine. What the unlock does is pretty much a factory reset. So make sure to back up any pic, music or what ever.
