you can do it in fastboot using 'fastboot erase cache' or in CWM
Sorry I should have asked to be more precise is it wipe cache partition in cwm....or wipe Dalvik cache.....sorry about this nooby question.

Hi there, many thanks, have done both then, will see how that does.
Just out of curiosity, what is the very latest, best Rom image to use, might have a bash at it this evening.

hmmm.. really depends on you personally.. i hate sense..i prefer the stock look as google envisioned it
I Use TeamNDVRu CM9
with
franco kernel
mostly everything works..
if you still want a Sense look, then id say Android Revolution HD
PS: Read everything carefully so you don't brick your device
Many thanks, will do.

I have flashed leedroid 2.4 and at first it worked well, but i turned off USB Debugging and after reboot it stuck at first boot screen... (didnt see Leave USB Debugging active!)

now im getting bootloops..
tried to flash a few times, but i always get bootloops..
(wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache, and dalvik)
I have tried to flash leedroid 2.3d, and again bootloops..

Hmm,that's odd o.0
Did u refarmat the Sdcard ? id suggest that, maybe some corrupt data was left on the ext partition ,dunno...and did u ask this in the LD 2.4 thread? Lee almost always answers all q/ in his thread
i cant post there..need 10 posts..
all other rooms are working normal... i have a 1gb ext3 partition...
Lee is working on the fix. His Rom currently needs to have usb debugging enabled to work. Check his Rom thread to see how to fix it!

You can try to wipe cache/dalvik-cache and flash LeeDroid 2.4 again, Lee said it should work. But in fact it seems that it doesn't work each time ... I you're in a bad luck you will need to full wipe your brand new LeeDroid ...
Unfortunately it looks like having to flash 2.4 back over the top of it is the only answer for now, as Lee clarifies in this post...

Soz. I'm not even sure if the upcoming patch will prevent you from having to do this anyway though. He says it'll be up by the weekend.
Edit: Did you do a Titanium backup of your apps/settings?

Hello Everyone!
Quick question, I was reading the KFFB and all that, but couldnt find an answer that pertained to my situation.
I decided to sell my KF which is currently running cm9. The person I am selling it to wants it to continue to have cm9, but I need to clearly, remove all my data from it.
If i perform a factory reset within the Rom, am I going to lose the Gapps, market, or anything like that? Is there a quick way to wipe the sd card and data from the KF without any additional risk?
I was hoping to maybe just use the in rom wipe function instead of TWRP, I figured that might work flawlessly.
Thanks in advance,
-Junt
Edit: I am running cm9 reloaded
Ok guys, the plot thickens. I went ahead and tried to factory reset from within the ROM, and it doesnt work. It just reboots. Any advice ?
Get into TWRP, wipe cache, dalvik-cache, SD Card and Factory Reset.
Thanks, trying that now, think I need to reinstall gapps?
Edit: NVM, everything looks perfect, thanks so much! Just in the knick of time too.

No need, they're in /system/app, so they'll be there so long as you don't wipe System or install a different ROM.
i want to root, unlock bootloader and flash this ROM to my device
but i have several question regarding to the feature of this ROM
it says, same look but much faster..
does this mean:
-it supports HTC Media Link HD?
-it have the ImageSense and able to take photos while recording videos
-it is basically the exact same ROM as the stock one in pretty much everything but more speed?
thanks in advance.. :good:
Yes
Yes, if you can on stock ROM
Yes and it's rooted
well thank's! time for root now muehehehe
Good luck! If you run into problems, just ask in this thread and don't create a new one. Thanks.

What are the steps you are taking to flash your rom and boot.img?
when you flash your rom it should go into aroma.. choose the option that says do full wipe, if you dont you'll run into problems. after you have flashed it, flash your boot.img in fastboot mode from your computer then do fastboot erase cache to prevent any problems from the boot.img. Can you give me the steps your taking to flash?

Wiping is VERY IMPORTANT! if the necessary steps arn't taken then you can mix up new codes with the old codes leaving you with many different problems. Thats why devs ALWAYS recomment wiping even when Wiping isnt needed to avoid such problems. Also you might want to check your md5 sum from your downloaded rom.. could potentially be a bad download

I had something like this with my HOX once, but the problem was due to loose connections after i had cracked it open. you can look at the development section to revert back to original. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094113

sir, sorry for troubling you again.
the problem is still not solved
I was using Slim bean for a quite a long time. Last month I changed my ROM to shpongle. since then the problem has started.
I found out that GPS doesnt work in shpongle so I wanted to revert back to slim bean. so i did full wipe, factory reset, dalvik cache. installed zip from SD card, flashed the boot.img file. but it was stuck at android screen (startup screen of slim)
so i reinstalled shpongle.
now today i wanted to install samsung ROM but the same problem showed up. so I had to again install Shpongle.
now i tried the boot.img provided by you, tried factory reset, but the problem is still there. Can you help out?
thanks in advance
hmm that is strange
that rom should boot should boot with cm10 kernel
i cant think of anything of now
BTW, the latest shpongle has working GPS so maybe u wanna try that

Hi,
With miui (9-10) I have no problems. With custom ROMs, yes.
Randomly the screen is blocked without touching anything.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb9E06-5SsE
The process that I follow:
1. Wipes
2. Install firmware (not always, to try something different) -> rom -> gapps.
3. Wipe dalvik and restart.
Any idea of the problem?
Best regards.
Even when I set up a rom for the first time it sounds the lock sound (although it does not lock during installation).
What did you wipe in TWRP? Flash firmware first then wipe system, data, dalvik and cache. Then flash rom and arm64 nano or pico gapps (if you're flashing AOSP roms) and reboot. If the error still occurs, try different roms but I assume that this is a user error.
