Hey guys, I bought the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4 LTE variant (SM-T325) and unfortunately, just after 2 weeks of use, my friend dropped it and cracked the screen and scratched the bezels. I live in the UK and I bought this tab online. I know dropping the tab is out of warranty and I have to pay for the damages but I have contacted Samsung which they referred me to some of their repair centres but with no hope as they couldn't replace/repair the damage because my tab is the LTE variant and it's not of European Region.
I'm pretty pissed that my beautiful TabPro 8.4 is cracked and I'd do anything to fix it.
I just want to ask you guys for advice on how I should fix my tab if official samsung repair centres here can't do it because they don't have the parts? Or is my best bet taking it to a repair centre in Asia (where it's most likely from)?
Thank you if anyone replies ;_;
Not good when you crack your screen
The only and best advice i can give you is check Ebay, look up LCD & Digitizer for Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 LTE, you should find it there. The best of luck Buddy..

I hate that it happened to u too but if all u did was crack the digitizer glass then consider yourself lucky because that part can be found all over the internet for as low as $40 (i'll link to a site below but as the user above said they are also on ebay...although for a higher price)...how about I also have the lte version BUT I broke the actual lcd display and somehow managed NOT to shatter the glass (weird but true). The crazy thing is I didn't even drop it...just picked it up and it was cracked/bleeding inside...not even sure if its something I did & not looking forward to arguing with Samsung about it either not to even mention the fact that's its actually a hong kong unit. The ironic part is I actually fix these things for a living but I cant find the screen anywhere online yet...if u decide to get rid of it for whatever reason then I would be willing to purchase the lcd from u (assuming u didn't break both screens) for a reasonable price & in order to help u make your money back. I could also part it out & put it on ebay for u...the motherboard alone should get a pretty penny

Thanks guys for replying, I totally appreciate it but yeah, my LCD itself isn't broken, just the glass so the touch screen digitizer is what I need. However, if I buy from eBay or from the given link, will the glass be of the same quality/made from the same thing? Cause the touch screen glass on the TabPro 8.4 feels so smooth and not cheap so I don't really wanna change that :/
And also, do you guys now if they sell the bezels? since they scratched too
Thanks again!
Wow.
Im sorry to read the situation the both of you are in, as for the first post i replied to i did mention the LCD & Digitizer, however doing the research on Ebay the Digitizer Cant be found, that really sucks, just makes me MUCH MORE aware of NOT dropping my device, they do feel really light a delicate, with that said I love watching movies on it in 1080p, the clarity is unbelievable. I'm loving this device, But on the other hand there isn't any development for it out, really sucks cause i was looking to switch it to the Google Addition of Android.. Or if a developer can cook up a Custom Rom from the S5 Operating System that would be SICKKK... That how i have my Note 3 running, exactly like the S5, its hottt... the best of Luck to you both, hope it works out. BLESS..!!

I actually replied to your thread about custom roms with something I was working on before the incident happened...its an extremely basic test build so its probably no where near what u want (no s5 setup) but if u want to test it out I posted the link in the other thread. I wish it was just my glass that was broken right now because it would already be fixed....I was able to find the digitizers on ebay althought there are only a few listings I'll post the lowest link below
EDIT: nevermind...probably should have checked my pm first. As far as the selinux function...if u go to "settings-general-about device" and scroll down to the very bottom u should see "se for android device" which will probably say "enforcing" although hopefully it will be set to "permissive" which would allow us to connect NTFS(WINDOWS) formatted hard drives to our device as well as other things

@Zakanam as for the quality of the part as far as I know most lcds are factory originals while most digitizers are usually aftermarket reproductions although I haven't EVER had an issue with any I've replaced as far as registering touches or smoothness. As I stated above device repair is part of what I do for a living although i'll admit I may have just been lucky...u will most likely have to wait until someone puts an 8.4 up for parts on ebay before u can find the bezels however I hope this helps

Does anyone know where I can buy the OEM backplate and possibly the cheap silver trim between the backplate and the screen?
I wrote a review on Amazon about what happened under the same name. Got nowhere with Samsung support, while looking for parts I found this post. Figured someone here may know.

In the same predicament. The lcd display on my 8.4 LTE T325 is broken, but the digitizer still recognizes touch. Finding a replacement screen is a pain, especially in the UK. Only quote I've managed to get is for £169, which is more than what I paid for it on ebay....decisions decisions...

Similar situation when I broke the screen on my Note 8. While glass was available at a reasonable price, the process to get it unglued from the digitizer looked too involved for me. The price for screen + digitizer was similar to the price of buying a new Note 8. So my solution . . . was to buy the Pro 8.4!

Lol. My solution was to buy the tab S 8.4 LTE. Still wondering whether it's worth fixing the tab pro or not
Hello, i broke my lcd a week after buying it and found only one place that has the digitizer and lcd as one unit. Its costly! $159.00 + $10.00 shipping from Singapore! here is the link
http://www.parts4repair.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-8-4-t320-parts/
I did it on mine but proly could have found a new tablet for the cost! The repair was very easy.
Hi I have a similar problem but with a different tablet thr tab 4 7 inch which does not have gorilla glass so whatever glass is put in it does the tabpro have gorilla glass?
Anyway 2 days after buying it I sat on my tab 4 by accident while it was sitting in its box on my bed, the tablet just sunk to 1 side and collapsed in the box so I am hoping I didn't do any damage. Ive been so worried about it when I look at the screen and lcd thrre is no damage or cracks I can see is it possible the lcd at thr back of it cluld be cracked? Or is it pretty obvious if it is cracked?
Looking at youtube for vids I see cracked screens but if thr lcd is cracked even just a little bit will it show?
I put thr tablet back in thr box an d pushed down on it with my fingers to try to see how mufh pressure it takes to collapse in the box again..and I heard a crack sound im so stupid..I don't see any damage still and I think the crack sound was from the see through plastic sheet inside rhe box and the cardboard pressing dosn against it.
If I dont see any cracks or damage to thr lcd is it most likely ok? Im so paranoid now. Maybe I should return it just ij case and get a replacement seeing as I am in my 28 day returns period
Is it safe to assume if I can't see any cracks its unlikely to br damaged?
i may say had a bad luck when buying online via lazada.my , CANT claim warranty . still under warranty, not caused by dropping, its factory defect.. sent to singapore but not fixed, send to local seller and returned back. this is my timeline https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DD4dz3VTUs
no choice i gotta put aside till have enough money by myself. looking at aliexpress and dhgate, price still beyond my budget
fyi, aliexpress and dhgate i had good purchase track record
please watch and spread this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DD4dz3VTUs
price complete set http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...2272498413.html?spm=2114.32010308.5.11.WBmYM2
might be mean but if your friend dropped it, he should be paying
this happened to me to, but about a month, and a half latter.
THE ONLY ADVICE I would give you is to go take it somewhere and get it fixed by a professional. If you follow that one YouTube Video, all your going to manage is cracking the Actual Display underneath the Glass. As it is these pieces are fused and, are essentially one unit. While it might be possible to just replace the Glass. It's doubtfull that finding the right fixer (i.e. Glue) would-be that simple. It also (to me) seems like the Tab Pro also has a thin polarising film between the Glass and the LCD display. Which was too easily damaged with the String technique. Not so much a problem if you have an extra 50.00€ for a pack of 25 Strips @ 8.4"
About your best option is to locate the next Samsung Depot (for myself that would be in the Netherlands), and they want ca. ~120.00€ (Before Tax!), for a replacement unit. (i.e. the Touchscreen + LCD + Frame. e.g. more like 169~€ by the time you work out shipping & tax.
Having a thought about it... It was just cheaper in the end to by a totally new neused Device. Which then set me back a 175.00€.
but those Displays from Fleebay, are as I gather chepo counterfeit Chinese Displays which are not as good as the original ones. Be that as it may... I'd have yet to find one that came with the Frame (i.e. with the Home Button.), cause for ~115€ they sure don't, and again you'd have to figure out how to reglue that bit without destroying the new Display.

My guess is your supposed to recycle the Backplate from the Original Screen. I guess getting it off the old one may be one thing. But how you'd go about regluing it back to the new Screen is to me questionable.
The 'Silver' bit is the rear cover. So One would think you already had that bit. in fact it's between this and the Glass Panel where you need to take a thin but very stiff like a Driver's License. To pry open the Device.
Again the best way to go is either though Samsung Direct, or one of its other partners.
It would also be helpful to know the Part Nr. Which are:
GH97-15740A (White)
GH97-1574B (Black)
Needless to say at those prices... You may well be better off buying a whole new Device.
I have an excellent condition digitizer but the glass is cracked. If wants to buy it they will have to remove the glass. Its from a T705
I too have a replacementWhite Digitizer Screen (White), still in the Envelope it came in with. Which I bought in a panic, after having also dropped my first T325. T_T.
Unless your very skilled, or know someone who is, at removing said Damaged Digitizer. I would forget this exercise. As you will at the least of it damage the Polarising Filter (Between the Digitizer, and the LCD Display), and at worst actually damage the LCD Display.
Having replaced a few Chinese Devices with their cheap plastic Digitizers is nothing like the way Samsung have done it. Unfortunately both the Digitizer, and the LCD have been fused together, as One unit. Again with a sandwiched Polarising Filter in the Middle.
There have been some Videos of People fixing the T320 that way, but the T320 doesn't have a Speaker Grill on it either. When I tried it on m, first One, the Dental Floss kept getting caught on it, an eventually damaged the underlying Filter (Which if you had done this would appear as just White Light.) Eventually in that game of tug, and war the LCD completely disintegrated.
I eventually found the Part Number (from a Samsung Tech Manual) p, and was able to locate two possible locations from which to order a replacement Screen from. Samsung in the Netherlands, and some other 3'erd Party from Poland. But either way you were looking at about 160€'s before Postage, and VAT (e.g. Sales Tax, which was higher in the NL). Making a total replacement, both simplier, and more cost effective.
Did you try heating it up like in the videos? I think the key is getting the glue loosened up
my fone was dropped on floor n got cracks on screen .. plz check pics ... screen is working fine .. so is this only front glass broken n can i just get the front glass replaced or its a bigger spending ... checked glass on ebay india its just 1499 rupees .
forget that screen only replacement its not happening unless you have specialist tools your going to have to buy a new screen and digitiser and connect it to the phone

Happened to me once with my s4, the glass was cracked but the amoled panel was working just fine. I decided it was worth taking risk and decided to leave to a man in the mobile market. The man said there's no guarantee, the panel can get damaged during removal with the help of heat and re-applying and that he will charge 2000 pkr regardless of the outcome (glass + labour). In the end it worked for me. I was in your place I would take the gamble.
You guys are forgetting something: OnePlus does not sell parts to anyone! So anything you see on ebay is not official.
The only way to get official replacement parts is to send the phone to OnePlus service center.
Screen replacement costs about 150€ IIRC (covert that to your currency).
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using Tapatalk
m not gonna do that myself .. just asking for approx costs like will i have to replace the screen as well or they will replace just glass ... will definitely take it to customer care as getting repaired outside will void my warranty ... so just asking to have an estimate of the cost or repair

Ask oneplus, my friend replaced his glass only with a fake glass one that broke in his pocket, best bet it to bring it to the customer support and get a glass screen protector asap.

Happened to me 1 month ago and sent to Oneplus for repair it: got it back after 1 week from Poland with an expence of 90 Euro in total.
Consider that the cost include transportation from my home in Italy to Poland and viceversa with UPS.
Looking if there was someone else in Italy repairing it, and I found one with a cost of 220 Euro (already tested with a OP2 of a colleague of mine)... sparepart costs 190 Euro.
Honestly, if possible for yourself, I would highly suggest you to open a ticket in OnePlus.
replaced few units "glass only", it takes time, but customers is happy with result and price
just foned oneplus ppl n they said full lcd needs to b replaced :/ n cost is 12000 rupees about 180-190 dollars ...
alone glass from ebay costs just 1500 rupees about 22-25 dollars ..
should i get it repaired from outside ?
what i think is its just front glass thats broken but scared that if i get it repaired n after removing glass it comes out that screen also damaged then i will loose warranty also by getting repaired from outside and have to buy screen also

Glass only, it absorbed all the force.. But getting glass of a sandwiched amoled panel is tricky.. Really tricky. Watch it on youtube.. Its better to replqce the whole screen in my opinion. Just send it to oneplus imo.

bro use the servify Accidental damage that came with the device it'll be done for freee
Anyone see this ?
link
i want to know if someone try this on the OP3 , my screen is broke and i want to replace for this ..
its say LCD , not AMOLED .
the color black in LCD be like the black color on a IPS screen?
If screen is working fine, reacts to touch, then glass only repair can be done.
@SunnyGrewal11, I think you are Indian and if you registered for accidental damage protection plan provided by servify then rest assured.
Because under this plan servify provides screen replacement for just nominal cost of Rs. 1000. yes only Rs.1000.
Contact servify for more information.
======
1 month back i also cracked screen due to accidental fall. I just contacted servify. they properly guided me to file a claim for repair.
To file claim you have to download app "OnePlus care By servify" from play store.
Procedure to file claim is given in app itself and its simple to understand.
After providing necessary documents I taken device to authorized repair center ( oneplus partnerd with several 3rd party repair centers across country).
I paid just Rs.1000 via app.
I got device repaired in only 4 days.

Contacts -
Servify - 1800 121 4984
OnePlus india - 1800 102 8411
(Both Numbers are Toll free)
If someone will decide to teardown and sell by parts, i need battery cover and pls. contact me...
I dropped my OP3 on the concrete last week. I had the original sandstone case, but the impact was very hard so the case corner was damaged and it went through. Now there is little scratch on a phone's corner. Without the case, the device would have been shattered.
I'm now worried about my phone. How long was the height of fall. Also you should try contacting servify.

do you have any recommendations on where to order front glass replacements for the OnePlus 3? all the parts i've found so far sound a little doubtful...is there any source with quality glass comparable to the original?
Comparable to original, is only cutted straight from original lcd assembly using wire. All replacements "china oem", "hq" "a++" will not be the same as original which cames with brand new phone. Sometimes in eBay peoples selling bronken lcd assembly with good condition glass.
Hey guys my screen is broken, but the touch screen is not, but some guys told me to buy the touch screen too. If someone here got broke his mi max and he replace the screen please I would like to know which screen he bought... I heard a lot of things about the colours. That the market screens are not original and the colours are very weak. So PLEASE.. I need you IMMEDIATELY
In generally...
Firs of all check with Aida64 which panel is used as their is more than one used in Mi Max. Usually it is Tianma R63350 & all do Tianma have a very good distribution network across the EU you won't find any references for this particular display. Second part should be to check if it's just touch panel/protective glass broken or you need a complete set (touch, glass, LCD).
Digitizer/glass will cost you 8.30$
https://www.parts4repair.com/touch-screen-digitizer-for-xiaomi-mi-max-white/
Complete pack with LCD/Digitizer and glass will cost you 35~36$ (tip don't pay more for it).
https://www.parts4repair.com/complete-screen-assembly-for-xiaomi-mi-max-white/
Warning; before purchasing the set be certain to see & confirm (from seller side) how its a same LCD display!
For additional info, finding possible better deal, replacement guides and cetera just search in browser for "xiaomi mi max display replacement".
My personal advice is that when you purchase the part's gave them for replacing to skilled professional in mobile services repair shop close to you & naturally try to bargain about the price.
Best regards.
I just bought whatever was cheapest on eBay. I haven't noticed any issues with the screen but the three buttons below the screen are no longer evenly lit, it used to bother me but now I don't even notice.
I have never replaced the touchscreen and screen separately, but when trying to replace my screen I definitely broke both so I would recommend buying both parts. Try to get the glue for the screen too! I had to use some super glue so I am pretty sure I can never replace it again.

Dude this is a OEM screen, I am very sure that the colours won't be the same as the original's.. I bought from dragon-tt.Com about 77 euros almost... Screen and touch, and frame-back panel
My phone whyred has always been in a case/screen protector since new
A couple of days ago my 4 yr old threw my phone violently and has smashed the screen :crying:
I can see on Aliexpress there are replacement screens for sale: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...09-47d6-b983-9f29fe68067d&transAbTest=ae803_4
I am based in the UK and this phone is not as popular as in India etc and there are not many places to get screen replaced
I have watched a few videos online, can this be done without all of the fancy machines?
For example do you really need a press? could you not just stick a heavyish book on the phone or is it just not possible
Clutching at straws I know
No, it doesn't work like that... if u want to replace just the glass.. you must have a UV lank to dry the glue..
I think he has to change the complete screen .
Did you look to the tuto on youtube ?
Just buy a new display and replace it. It is much easier but it costs a bit more. Make sure it comes with the frame as well.

I can see the complete display on Aliexpress
I replaced the display on my Redmi Note 3 pro and it was never the same again
The replacement displays are not a patch on the original
I may have to go down that road, is there no one who has attempted to replace the glass themselves?

It is very hard to do a glass-only repair. You have a 60-70% chance to break the display during the process
Broke my display, digitalizer and screen still intact only glass shattered.
As I live in Brasil, there is no trustworthy shop to replace screen.
Searching at aliexpress I saw lots of people complaining that screens are subpar to original.
Can someone recomment a place where I can buy an original replacement, or at least a good one?
My phone screen is "tianma td4310".
Just before 2 months I was gifted a Samsung s8.
I made it my primary device for a while.
As you know there is nothing you can do with Samsung phones in terms of customization, changing ROMs and also my new S8 screen broke recently.
I again want to use by Z2.
My Z2 was with my brother. He used it quite hard.
Front glass is cracked, touch is working. And also Back glass is cracked.
Any idea to replace those as cheapest as possible.
I want my phone to shiny and not cracked and I don't want to use skins. Just want a clean shiny, glassy device.

Easy enough, Its just white plastic with silver ZUK logo. Linky
The back is glued on so hair dryer or heat gun needed and it will lift off.
Most use B-6000 or B-7000 glue to put back on.
If you are from India, its cheaper and easier to try OLX or Quikr to find one used device. Not all people are familiar with custom rom & true capabilities of Z2 Plus so if you look hard, you can find a good scratchless device within 2.5k easily !!
Rather than paying high charge to repair it from Lenovo authorized service center, its cheaper to buy a second hand device.
Thanks.
Hey,
I also had broke my back glass recently, and i got a replacement from my local market for around ₹200.
Also i had paid a visit to the Lenovo official service center, and they quoted ₹2200, only for the back glass, and they had a doubt if it could be replaced as the model is out of production.
I would suggest you to buy it from local market, but keep in mind to check if the back sits properly into the phone as many back glass don't sit properly on the Indian variants of the Zuk Z2 plus.
And being for the screen lenovo charges around ₹6000-7000, if screen is available in stock. So i would prefer to go to the local market for this too, which would hardly cost you much. [Around ₹1500-2000].
