hi guys
so there i have a difficult situation on the e975
i flash avatar rom through cwm and after a while using it i decided to go back to stock rom through kdz updater from lg, ive done this several times in the past with no problems but this time it stuck on the lg animation, after that i decided to try teenybin so i can have a custom recovery to flash roms, the problem is that teenybin completly destroyed my phone, not even cant flash roms through sideload but the original/stock recovery has gone so i cant get to lg to fix it
so any way of help here?
i can access download mode and fastboot
(when i try the kdz updater while the phone is on download mode it jumps to fastboot and the updater cant do his job)

Try THIS tutorial to flash your kdz.. Also it's wierd because if you succesfully flash an kdz file (using any method) you should be completly (re)locked and unrooted.

i can barely remember what i was doing, im sorry
if you come from 4.4 you can flash through the lgspst from the teenybin thread the 975 kdz file by renaming it to bin, and then because you are with the ls970 dll file, you can root it, flash cwm through freegee then go to cwm and clear everything (data cache sddata system dalvik nothing else) and then go to download mode again and flash the original e975 kdz through the kdz updater, its a lengthy process but thats how i did it until i or someone else find another more short way
I rooted my LG G3 not too long ago and changed the model number in build.prop to the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) so that Snapchat would behave as it does on Galaxy. This went fine, but then when I started messing around with roms for xposed and trying to flash, I bricked it. Now when it boots it immediately shows and gets stuck on the [####] Fastboot Mode Started screen. I can get it into download mode and on the Firmware Update screen via my PC and I was going to flash the stock firmware onto my LG using LGFlashTool, except I just realized the model number is still stuck at SM-G920F! It still thinks its a galaxy so I can't flash any LG firmware onto it! PLUS because it's bricked I can't get into my phone to change the build.prop model back to D850. Can I change the build.prop from my PC? Could I try flashing the SM-G920F stock firmware onto it since that's what it thinks it is?
Thanks

If you have twrp just flash zip rom from twrp...or you can flash stock build.prop zip file...
Just dirty flash rom the ROM, or just use ADB to push untouched build.prop

oh i didnt even think of that that would work. I thought i did but i dont think twrp ever successfully installed.. how would i flash a stock build.prop zip?
Just flash stock build.prop.zip file from twrp...means look out any stock rom zip file made for you phone model....or edit your thread name and ask for twrp flashable buil.prop file.....hope you have twrp installed...

Here is the buid.prop zip. Open it on your computer, delete the build.prop file and copy your stock build.prop....then flash it using twrp...
I know it says LGD855 but this is a LGD850 firmware. The best, clean firmware for KitKat.
And I know that a lot of you with this firmware tried to flash custom recovery TWRP for D855 and got in fastboot mode instead...
If you still have this problem and your phone was on this(LGD855-V10m-ISR) firmware, you should flash a custom recovery for d850 and not d855.
But I want to ask owners of LGD855-V10m-ISR or past owners of this firmware that never replaced their version of LAF partition, that means you never flashed another stock firmware, you could flash custom rom but never a stock rom, becuase custom rom usually dosn't replace LAF partition... so could you please backup your LAF.img partition and share it here?
I still own this firmware, I can access custom Recovery mode but I lost download mode because I accidentally messed up my LAF partition.
The only way to access download mode now is to boot another LAF partition in fastboot mode, because if I flash it i get boot certification verification error...
Thanks.
I know you asked this ages ago, bit...
I have the LGD855-V10m-ISR, with TWRP recovery for the D850. I've done a basic backup, and I'll gladly send you the LAF.img, but I don't know where to find it!
Also, may I ask you, should I flash custom ROMs for the D855 or the D850? I'm afraid I'll brick it!
Thanks,
dapeg
My G4 has just gone on me again, just sitting at the boot logo and a flashing blue led. This is the 2nd time in a week and the last time it was due to a corrupt build.prop, which I was able to replace from backup. This time it has just happened randomly and the original build.prop doesn't help.
So if someone can help me out urgently with a stock marshmallow rom for twrp it would be a big help.
Cheers.

theres is softbrick and bootloop. you are aware that G4 can bootloop do to a hadware issue not software.?
maybe you have infamous bootloop. and not a soft brick. but you can try to KDZ does it boot into twrp.? if not then hardware issue.
for kdz search here to flash using LGUP.

Yes, it boots to twrp. Thats the reason I need the 20e zip file and not kdz. I was able to flash a 20d zip last night which then allowed me to flash the 20e kdz. But when I flashed twrp again just now, the same thing has happened again. I'm thinking now that this started happening when I updated twrp to the latest version via the twrp app, and it was only when I had another app crash and reboot my phone two nights ago that it happened for the first time. I'm going to downgrade twrp to an earlier version and see if that makes a difference.

??? you needed the zip to flash KDZ.??? that makes no sense.. then no hardware issue just a soft brick, a software issue. all you had to do was KDZ to latest version. using the refurbished option on LGUP.
then inject twrp and install twrp permanently and then root .
wich twrp are you using.? have you tried this.
the unnoficial beta5.

I was unable to boot my phone so I needed to reflash it. As I only had access to twrp, I had to flash a zip file. I couldn't find a 20e zip so I flashed the next best thing, which was a 20d file. This isn't the correct version for my phone and let me know that each time I booted it. So once I had the phone booted up, I used LGUP to flash the 20e kdz file. My reasoning for this is that I can only flash a kdz file using LGUP, and as I can't boot my phone, I can't use LGUP. So are you telling me I can flash a kdz file from twrp?
Anyway, it appears the latest twrp (twrp-3.0.2-1-h815) was causing the problem. I reverted back to the previous version and I have had no issues so far. I've taken a full nandroid backup to be on the safe side.
Thanks for the advice.

if you boot to twrp then am pretty sure you can enter download mode and use LGUP and KDZ. that was my point. its even better as its the official firmware that will fix any issues..

I couldn't get the phone into download mode. If I had been able to do so it would've made life a lot easier for me. Flashing the zip file and then the kdz was a long winded way to do it but I finally got the desired effect. And I was able to tell that the latest twrp looks to be problematic for the H815 (I've prepared myself for any resulting backlash).

Just disabling automatic updates in your rom should fix all this. Latest twrp works fine.

Cheers lads. Things are running very smoothly at the minute.
LG V30 US998-30b ROMHi!
This Rom is 99% Stock. 3.2.3-7 TWRP should first be installed. Then you can install this Rom and have Pie with working TWRP.
WARNINGS!!!!!
Only for North American variants -- EXCEPT T-mobile H932. NOT for H930, H930G, H930D, H930DS!
This zip is created from the original KDZ. It contains almost the complete 30b firmware, but the partition table rewriting part and recovery image is removed. I changed the system.img, so you do not have to reinstall TWRP (recovery-from-boot.p deleted) when ROM is booted. I also changed the partition size of system.img, so the vendorized people can install this too without having problems because of a too small system partition. This is a continuation of westwood24's idea and work, I've updated it to the newest fw version and edited / advanced it a bit. I followed his idea and made this for users who can not take OTA's because they have Custom Recovery / Root installed.
Features
Stock build made from official KDZ
Stock Build.prop (only 2 extra lines added for DTS, full weather lockscreen)
Unrooted
System image modified to keep TWRP
System image size shrunk for being able to flash this on a smaller system partition, mainly caused by vendorizing
Removed dm-verity
Removed rctd (LG's root checker tool daemon)
Enabled opt-encrypt, it's your choice now if you want to encrypt your phone, it's no more forced. TWRP now is capable of decryption (both AOSP and stock) since a few versions
Installation
What you need
Unlocked Bootloader [How to do]
Working TWRP installed (should be installed already, otherwise you wouldn't need this zip )[Link to newest unofficial TWRP]
When you need Root, Latest Magisk [Download]
LATEST ZIP
john-fawkes.com US99830b.zip [Click to Download]
OLDER ZIPS
AFH ZIPS [Download]
John-fawkes.com [Download]
How to install
When you are still on Nougat,
you should start fresh: Reboot to recovery using button combo or reboot app (needs root; btw, Magisk offers this possibility too: Menu -> Modules -> three dot menu top right - Reboot to recovery)
Then flash this TWRP.img via image flashing function in TWRP, reboot to recovery again (for fully working new recovery) and do a backup, then copy this backup to your PC.
Then initiate a factory reset. Wipe your system partition too in TWRP advanced wiping menu, copy the 30b firmware zip to your SD and install it. Reboot and enjoy
From Oreo:
For clean install: Factory reset and wipe system
You can also keep your data by simply dirty flashing the zip. *Be aware that problems may occur, maybe you need to do a factory reset to start fresh*
Flash the 30b zip, then Magisk zip when you need root, then reboot to System = you're DONE
P.S.: could be, that you first need to boot up your fresh install and set it up before you can flash magisk.
At the first time you boot to system, it can be TWRP says No OS installed. You can ignore it.
If TWRP asks if you want to install SU, hit no (in newest TWRP SU is disabled, and the option to install the TWRP app is disabled too.)
Rom Version
Android Version: 9.0 Pie
Android security patch level: 2019-09-1
Don´t forget to hit the thanks-button if you like this zip! :good:
